From the beginning, John Sandberg was prompt, pleasant, and professional. He was easy to reach throughout the project, taking or promptly returning calls. John was quick to come out and assess the situation. He is very knowledgeable and able to communicate well, informing and giving options, never pressuring into a hard sale or pushing for the most expensive option. I wanted to see if we could salvage the existing system, which had served us well for years. John sent Josh out to dig up the pipe coming off the house, and we discovered it was split and shattered. He replaced the section of pipe for a reasonable price, to be billed and mailed to me. I thought this might suffice, but was worried the damage may have been more extensive, out to the area mains in the front and back yards. We let the repair set up, with plans for them to return to test the system further. In the meantime, I needed to work with a plumber to replace a section of split copper pipe leading from just inside the house to the sprinkler system outside. Both the front yard main and the back yard main were leaking extensively. We concluded that it would be best to replace the entire system, and we got on the schedule. With the economy beginning to turn, contractors of all types are swamped with work, especially top-rated ones. I was very pleased we were able to get the new Hunter sprinkler system installed and running 4 weeks later, and before hot, dry weather struck. Just days after the Hunter system went in, a section was damaged by a backhoe taking out a neighbor's pool. John had his crew come out right away to repair the damaged section and replace the missing sprinkler head. He also added 4 tall sprinkler heads to the garden, adding another section to the system. John not only absorbed the cost of the initial repair, as he had offered when we decided to replace the system, he also waived the repair from the backhoe. We, of course, paid for the added garden section. Despite several house calls, John maintained his congenial and professional manner, never complaining of the hassles this job must have given him, pulling his crew over to take care of the small things. This is really remarkable, as this summer we had a number of other repairs (roof, bathroom regrout, other bathroom repair and retile) remain incomplete or not even attempted, despite meeting with numerous companies. I would Highly recommend John Sandberg and his company, Innovative Irrigation Specialists. They are remarkable in every way: prompt, professional, courteous, and competent, determined to please and deliver. They have a work ethic of days gone by, seldom found these days.

I contacted company through Angie's List and received an immediate response. We scheduled service for two days later at 7:00 am. Owner of company arrived right on time. Being a new home owner with no experience with lawn irrigation systems, the owner John, took the time to explain what he was going to do and how it all worked. He completed the job in a timely fashion. He presented us with a well designed business card and explained his services. My wife and I found this businessman to be very professional, punctual and honest. We will be calling him again the Spring for startup services.

We called several providers in for an estimate and only a few were willing to take on the job due to our difficult terrain. John admitted that it was difficult but felt sure that he and his crew could handle it. The job actually needed to be split into two appointments due to plant growth in the perrenial beds. We have a combination of soaker hoses and spray heads according to vegetation requirements. John and the crew did a great job in communication and labor and cleaned up nicely when each portion of the job was completed.

Everything went perfectly! The crew has been together for a long time. Great people that really knew their stuff! One sprinkler head did not work because of a rock or mud in the water line - and they came out immediately to unplug it.

John called us back within an hour of leaving a voice mail message for him. We set up a date to meet to walk the property and go over what we were hoping for regarding the irrigation system. He was very thorough in explaining the product line he uses and his recommendation for our property. We had gotten additional bids from two other companies prior to John coming out. Our decision to hire John was not solely based on price, although it certainly was part of it. The combination of a fair bid and confidence we had in him to do the job sealed the deal. He explained that the weather (a very wet spring) was backing up a few of his jobs, but he would get us scheduled for the work as soon as possible. We were a little disappointed that he anticipated the job would be a few weeks out, but then he called to say he had a window of availability and before we knew he and his crew were here beginning the work. We had some worries that our lawn would be really torn up and that we would have to spend a few weeks getting things to look nice again, but brushed off our worries knowing that at least we wouldn't be dragging hoses around and hand watering. The work was completely quickly with nearly no disruption to the existing lawn. The operation of the system was thoroughly explained with the invitation to call if we had any questions at all. We did make that call because we had a question about one of the sprinkler heads and John stopped out that same night. We highly recommend Innovative Irrigation.

John Sandberg, the owner, does all the estimates. He is very punctual, responsive, professional and knows his business. He was willing to come back a second time to go over his plan with my wife before a contract was signed. His estimate was in range or below the other contractors, and he always answered his phone or promptly returned calls. His crew of 5 (including John most of the time) worked hard from 7am to 7pm to complete a comprehensive sprinkler system with quality Hunter Industries controller and heads. They had all the necessary equipment for a complex job. He ended up putting in 10 more heads than the original estimate, but would not accept more money even when offered. John, who does not use subs for any of his installations, is very customer service oriented. I would not hesitate to recommend Innovative irrigation specialists.

I saw positive reviews for IIS on angieslist and decided to see if they could come out to help me straighten the circa 1999 sprinkler system that was installed in the house i recently purchased. The system wasn't in terrible shape, but I had replaced a couple broken heads myself and decided I needed a pro to come out and get everything dialed in. Also, we had a fence put in, and while they didn't pierce any lines some of the existing heads needed to be moved inside the fence, etc. I sent a pretty vague request and John was super responsive and we figured out a plan to just go through the whole thing and get it updated. They came out when they said they would (after a reschedule due to some unforeseen equipment issues they had the day before) and they brought a whole crew to knock it all out in a short period of time. The foreman/head guy and I figured out where to move the heads and a couple guys started right away on those while we ran through the rest of the system. They figured out that the nozzles in the front of my house were way to big and not allowing the proper pressure (thus the poor coverage) and replaced those, along with 6 or 7 heads total. They cleaned out a lot of the other functioning ones and were really good about telling me when something was working correctly and didn't need to be replaced. They finished off by adjusting every single head to cover the way it should. I could see the difference in my yard after 2 days watering with the refurbished system. Great guys, I will definitely use them again for anything related to irrigation.

Went great! Super fast, super responsive, and he has my business now. As a first time home owner, having him patiently explain the control box and things I need to do was very valuable.

I interviewed the top rated irrigation companies on Angie's list and found that John stands out from the pack. Our initial meeting lasted more than 2 hours because I asked so many questions, all of which he answered in great detail. Not only was he the most informative and professional, but he also had a competitively priced proposal. The choice was easy... Before John's crew could come in, I needed to have some grading and seeding done on my property. The spring and early summer turned out to be precipitous and it delayed my grading/seeding vendor. I had to continually reschedule on John. Every time I called him to reschedule he had a great attitude about it and shuffled his schedule to accommodate me. Finally, the rain held out long enough for my grader/seeder to get his work done so then the irrigation work could begin. The day of the install, they showed up at 7am with 2 trucks full of uniformed and courteous workers. The work was completed as stated and with minimal damage to the existing sod. A few days later, John came back to run me through the controller and collect payment, which I was thoroughly pleased to provide. This is one company I will be recommending to all of my friends and family who are looking for a top notch irrigation experience. Thanks again John! ben

It was outstanding service, he call me this morning picked a time and showed up right on time. He was extremely professional and friendly. He was very informative and showed me exactly what was wrong. I can not be more pleased with the result. I am seriously thinking about moving my maintence of my system to him from now on. Once the work was completed he cleaned up the work area and checked in to make sure I new what was done. Again USE THIS GUY!!!!!!! John was great

It went exactly as they had said it would. There were no surprises. They were extreamly flexible around our work schedules. We had neighbors comment on their effeciency. Would recommend them.

John and his crew showed up on time and completed the work quickly and professionally. They walked me through the operation of the system, flagged and drew a map of the location of sprinkler heads and followed up several days later to be sure everything was working properly. They were not the least expensive bid but they did quality work and follow-up. I would definitely recommend their service.

I found John?s company on Angie?s list with impressive reviews. So I called a week ago and set up an appointment. John came on time and did a great job fixing all my sprinkler system problems within a short time. He also explained why the problem was caused. He thoroughly checked the problem zone became working well before finalized the job. Besides, the charge is quite reasonable. John is efficient, courtesy, and responsible. This company had put in a new line earlier this summer to get around tree roots. Within a month, there was an area which was clearly not getting water, and grass was dying. After my son turned on system to see which sprinkler head was not moving, I called to request a service call. John came out--on a SUNDAY morning--and within 15 minutes, had replaced the broken head. He didn't even charge me extra for this house call! What extraordinary service by a conscientious, hard-working, responsive professional! I would definitely recommend him!

John and his team did a great job putting in the system. He used premium components and improved my lawn coverage. He was competitively priced and completed the job in short order, per his bid. I would use him for any irrigation job with complete confidence .

John was thorough and professional. He arrived when he said he would, communicated well and was efficient. He checked each head carefully and realigned them to assure that as much of our grass as possible would get coverage. I will use him again this fall to flush our system without hesitation.

I found John's company on Angie's List and was intrigued by the many positive reviews. One of my sprinklers hasn't been working properly for a couple weeks so I gave John a call this morning. John answered the phone, I explained the situation, he asked if he could stop by within the hour!!! I kid you not, John ends up having to dig up an area around the broken sprinkler to find that a tree root had grown through the hose (see photo)! He worked so h****** truly no notice at all and completely fixed the problem. I will 100% recommend John's company. John was efficient, kind, respectful, thorough, he's been in business for a long time and reasonably priced. Seriously if you need any lawn irrigation service - call John!

Everything about John and his crew were great! John showed up at the scheduled time to give an estimate. Once he had measured and checked out our yard, he sat down with us and went over all the details of the system. He was very professional and answered all of our questions. One of the biggest reason we went with Innovative Irrigation Specialists was because John was able to get us scheduled and installed early in the season. The summer of 2013 was off to a very slow start with a late thaw and most other contractors would not of been able to do the work until mid-to-late June. This was because our South Mpls yard was a 'small' job for most contractors. John was the only one that saw us as a paying customer regardless of the size of the job. Once scheduled, John and his crew showed up at the correct time and got our system installed. Once installed John took the time to show us how to adjust the sprinklers ourselves. This can save us money in the future if a rock gets stuck in a sprinkler head, or one of the heads needs adjusting etc. This was great since some other contractors tell you to not do anything yourself so they can come out and charge a service fee etc. John also provided us with a sod contractor to come out and install sod in our backyard the following week. This was excellent because most contractors were too busy to even give an estimate on our 'small' job. Let alone get sod installed within a week! Overall we are very pleased with Innovative Irrigation Specialists and would recommend them to anyone needing a sprinkler system installed.

GREAT JOB! They were right on time. Got to work right away. Everyone new there role. The team worked well together. They answered all my questions withput a problem. John kept me in the loop throughout the entire process. Absolutly NO misshaps!!! They did what was estimated, and there were now extra costs!!! They kept things clean and organized as they worked. Final clean up was great! When the job was done, John walked me through the entire system again. I really appreciated that. It was trash day. When the trucks came, someone took the can out to the truck before it had even stopped. Again I was impressed! I would, and will recommend them to everybody!

Went well. Very professional on first call, gave firm estimate, asked lots of questions and explained why he was recommending what he planned. The crew showed up as promised, completed the job and came back to tweak a few things per my request. A plumber also came earlier to install the outside water connection and was very prompt, professional and thorough.

Made an appointment to get an estimate on a lawn irrigation system. I raced home from vacation to be there when he came but got a no show no call. Who does that?

I contacted John at Innovation Irrigation Specialists as I had large pools of water around two sprinkler heads. John and his crew did not install my system, and the system we have is only two years old so was a little frustrated that we were having issues already. I contacted John based off of his Angies list reviews and definately made the right choice!! He answered my call right and had his crew here the next day to go through the whole system. They found many loose heads throughout my system and had to replace a few heads that were full of debris. A few days later I noticed that there was still water around the two heads and gave John a call. Again, he answered my call right away and personally drove to my house to take a look. He replaced the internal components on one of the valves and the issue was resolved. I was there when he was doing the work and there were no visible signs that the components he replaced were faulty, but it fixed the problem and has been working flawlessly ever since. His crew did everything right on the first visit and checked the valve that John later replaced but as I mentioned there was nothing there that looked to be an issue. John was very professional and it was obvious he knows exactly what he is doing whether he installed the system or not. I would highly recommend Innovative Irrigation to my family and friends, and will definately give them a call when I have any type of issue with my irrigation system in the future.
