Thanks so much for the review. I'm especially pleased that even though your project has been done for years you remember us, and it still looks great!

Please note that every single complaint the homeowner has made in this review she says has been completed to her satisfaction. One of the first things that this homeowner said when we met four years ago, and after a tornado had hit her house and she had thrown the two previous contractors off the property, is that she was a very high maintenance, demanding, difficult person. After four years of going the extra mile to help her, we believe we have everything we can to help her. She has written many positive reviews and recommended us multiple times to neighbors and friends for what a great job we have done, how we’ve taken care of her and how she felt she could trust us for the last four years. She has also called us again and again for multiple projects in the last four years. Please also note our other 150+ excellent reviews on the BBB, Google, Guild Quality, Thumbtack and Houzz.

I am sorry that there was miscommunication with Iron River. Your project was in a condo, and we typically only work on single family homes. This should have been explained more clearly to you when the Project Manager came out. We would not have provided an estimate for a job that we would not be doing. I always tell homeowners that the initial meeting should be thought of more as an interview than an estimate. Not all firms are a good fit for all jobs, and in this case I would recommend a contractor that specializes in condominiums. Tracy

Description of Work: I used Iron River in 2008 as I needed a new roof and siding due to hail damage. I had a good experience at that time. I called again this spring to have the roof checked (as there had been another hail storm) and to get estimates to add a pitched roof to a room addition and also to add a little siding after taking out a deck. A different representative came out. (The rep I had in 2008 left the Co) He found no hail damage to the main roof. He promised to email me an estimate in a few days. It's now 6 weeks later. I never heard from him again. I'm sure the Company is working on big roofing jobs and don't want to take the time for this little job now but they could have provided the estimate and explained when they could do the job. I would use the Company again but probably not this individual.

Description of Work: The 2 workers removed the snow from our roof. I directed them to leave the ice on the eves. As it was, it was necessary for them to take more than the hour allocated by Angie's List; hence, the additional $75. They did a good job, worked as quickly as possible under the circumstances, so I feel I got my money's worth.

I knew what it cost on the front end. They did their work fine. I would give them good marks. We had some scheduling problems. It's quite a job. I think that whole industry is probably taking advantage of people. There is probably two feet of snow on a rather large roof. The money part, from what I understand from the news, is a reasonable rate. All they did for me was shovel snow, so I'm not really sure what else they do.
Description of Work: They worked for nine hours. Two people worked for $80.00 per hour each. They removed ice and snow from our really big roof.

Called to schedule an appt. Set one up for a few days later, and told them I wanted to be there when they came to the house. The guy said he didn't actually work for Iron River but subbed out stuff for them. They said they'd call me when they were on the way. Well, I got a call that they had an earlier job cancel (or was too big for this guys crew) and that they were about done with my place. Although I wasn't there to see the work, he said it went fine. I thought this was great and thanked them for doing the job. Little did he say that they were adding additional time onto the job. I received a bill a few weeks later saying I owed them an additional $150 for "extra time" spent on the job. They never mentioned it when we talked and didn't call in advance so I could be there when they did the work. Without being there and without them saying they spent additional time, I feel like this was a classic bait and switch. I'll pay the extra $150 but I will never use them again and will never use another "Angie's Great Deal". UPDATE: Iron River removed the extra charge.
Description of Work: Used a "great deal" coupon for $165 snow removal from our roof.

I had an Angie's list discount. They were supposed to be here in the afternoon and they came before I got home. They were here when I got home and it was two Hispanics and I didn't see anybody that I could talk to. They came too early. That bothered me because the guy that was kind of in charge of them was down at somebody else's house. I was floored to see them up there hammering and I am hoping that it turns out okay and they didn't damage my shingles. They were up there with hammers pounding. I'm not sure if that was the right way to tackle it. I'm sure they didn't get down to the shingles but they were hammering really, really hard. I picked them because they had a good reputation and they didn't do what I thought they would do but I don't have anything to compare it to because I've never had this done before.

Called Iron River Construction from Angie's List and paid through Pay Pal to Angie's List. to remove ice dams on my small 10 square house in crystal/ golden valley. They came next day. They dumped the ice on all shrubs and anything below. air conditioner and all. no plywood protection. I have not been on the roof to look for hatchet marks as they don't steam. Then on Feb 16th I get a bill for and additional $150.00 bucks for 'Additional time needed'. For crying out loud it is a 10 sqr. house . smallest house you can buy. Any smaller you can buy them at Home Depot. I did not think with the 'specials' they could come back and hit you up for more dough. I could understand if this was a 30 or 20 sqr. house, I used to do roofing and ice removal, but this is ridiculous! I have a short video of the ice on what was a big round shrub but not now .

We had a masonry contractor rebuild our brick chimney from the roof level up. After the masons were done, a counter flashing had to be installed by a roofer. Iron River responded very promptly to my request and was very willing to come and do this relatively small job. They gave me a quote for the job and then later called me back to see if we had any leftover shingles for the existing roof they could use which would reduce the price. We didn't have any, but they found a good match with new shingles. They were out and finished the job within two days and the installation looks great. I believe Iron River normally requires 50% of the money down before starting a job, but they waived that for me since it was a small job and a short turn time. They followed up with me about a week after I mailed my payment in to make sure we were satisfied.

Great. I purchased on Big Deal. Price was very good. One hour and two men with equipment removed all snow from roof. The folks at the office, Tracy and Michelle were very helpful and professional and nice to speak with. The 2-person tam removed all snow and cleared walkway and driveway when done. Great job.

Service was performed professionally and effeciently. There were issues with our insurance company paying for all of the repairs. Iron River spoke with insurance and helped to negotiate a fairer pay out.
