Description of Work: The area in the basement was |inspected, plus the main bathroom. After the inside areas were evaluated, we went outside and checked out gutters and looked for low spots causing drainage problems. This was deemed the cause of moisture seeping into the foundation. I felt that he was knowledgeable in determining what was causing the problem, and advising me how to fix it.

Thanks for this review. This Angie's member was pleasant and nice to work with. Regarding the "B" grade in pricing or any other category, I always wonder what is the basis for comparison that leads to less than an "A" rating? Fortunately we continue to receive more "A" ratings than any lower grades. Primarily because of the cost of environmental liability insurance the labor rates among mold remediation contractors are more than some of the other trades such as carpentry. So, cost might be a little more than expected but it would be nice if folks would discuss any concerns before approving a bid so that they can be discussed and understood. I am well aware of the prevailing pricing in this industry and can assure everyone that our pricing is very competitive. Thanks again for taking some time to submit the review. I searched my appointment book to see notes about this inspection. (I found that it was in October, not September.) The price for the inspection was $195, not $225. I believe that if the member had checked competitive mold inspection pricing that she would have awarded us an "A" rating rather than a "B" in the "Price" category. Fortunately for her I found that she did not have the mold problem that she thought existed. We do appreciate every report. Thank you, Tom.

The mold remediation project was actually done in October, 2013, not December, 2014. Looking back on the records, I can assure that the pricing was a lesser amount than the prevailing pricing in this industry. After submitting competing bids in the past, clients have almost always told me that our prices were the lowest. We do not compromise quality of workmanship in order to be price competitive; we just try to provide the best value. Thank you very much for submitting this review. We appreciate it very much. Tom I truly wish that those who issue grades for the various aspects of services have a basis for comparison. Without a competitive bid, a person cannot know how to grade the cost of a project. We really do appreciate it when an Angie's member takes the time to submit a report and we do appreciate this overall grade of "A". We are used to straight "A" ratings, so a "B" is a little disappointing. Nevertheless, thank you for the nice review. Tom

We appreciate every review from Angie's members. We are a little surprised about the "B" ratings for pricing and professionalism. This project involved damages in the fished basement. The client left us a voice mail message the afternoon before the project was to begin, cancelling the scheduled date. At his request we rescheduled the project for a later date. The full extent of the hidden damages could not be determined prior to the beginning of the demolition work. Once revealed, we discussed what additional work would be required to complete the mold remediation and what it would cost. He willingly agreed to proceed. The job required twice as much work as originally anticipated, so the pricing was twice the original estimate. At the completion of the project the clients expressed their gratitude for a job well done. We are accustomed to receiving straight-A's in Angie's members' reviews, but I understand that some folks can be a little tight-fisted with the A's in their reviews. Clients are often surprised when they suspect a mold problem and after a mold inspection I find that there isn't one. We do charge a fee for mold inspections; that pays for my time, expenses, and experience. As opposed to a "free" inspection where the inspector might have a mold remediation sales motive in order to pay for his time and overhead expenses, etc,, I am pleased to counsel my clients and provide as much relevant advice as possible during an appointment. If a mold issue exists this includes DIY guidance, recommendations about how to avoid future problems, and/or a mold remediation bid if appropriate. Thanks again for the review.
