Ben couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. He came out to my home and inspected the problem, he told me I could fix this myself. He sent me a text with a picture of the product I needed and told me where I could purchase it. He didn’t even charge me for this service. Wow!

Verified mold in the house and root causes and put together a plan for how to remove/clean. There was no big issues that needed remediation. The technician advised me how to do the simple cleanup and apply sealant in certain areas. Really great experience and quality customer service

Ben examined the mold and explained the process to remove it. He clearly knew what needed to be done. Frank, who actually removed the mold, did a great job. He also suggested ways to avoid getting more mold. I would call this company first for any future problems with mold.

They were extremely professional and helpful from the first conversation. The work was thorough and done quickly and efficiently. After they got into the walls they discovered we had work to do above what was anticipated and Ben jumped in to get it done on time. I would absolutely recommend them. We choice Certified because some of the other mold places seemed to lean on fear tactics, and the Certified website had a lot of good factual information. We were so happy we did! Ben came out and did a thorough inspection. He even took the time to check the bathrooms, which wasn't on the original request. He was excellent at answering my questions and explaining what he was doing, and gave us a lot of great advice on handling the mold that was there and how to prevent mold in a few other high risk places. And he followed up with links and more information the next week when the final test results came in. We are recommending them to friends from now on.

Tom was so helpful and very honest. He stopped by and checked our basement and said there was no mold, so there was nothing we needed to do at this time. Other people might charge a large fee for the inspection or suggest other services, but not Tom. I highly recommend him.

He helped me determine what had already been done by our home's previous owner, and we put together a simple remediation plan that fixed my problem quickly. He laid out a plan for future maintenance that will pre-empt the problem in future. His pricing was excellent - much less than I expected we might have to pay.

Tom is extremely professional and I very highly recommend him. He was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and came out to visit our home immediately. When he arrived, he was on time, courteous and professional. He assessed the mold issue and explained how I could DIY clean the small area and that there was no issue for larger mold growth or other concern. His only charge was his trip charge which was very reasonable for the expert service that he provided. I strongly recommend him for any mold related services and will certainly refer him in the future.

Tom met me at my house to inspect my basement and assess the mold issue. He was very honest in letting me know that the mold issue was fairly minor and was something I could reasonably do myself. Even after understanding this would not be a paying job for him, he spent a good deal of time walking through recommendations in great detail so I could do the work correctly. His expertise was evident, and I wouldn’t think twice about contacting him in the future.

I don't usually write reviews but this one for Certified Mold Inspection and Remediation Services, Inc. is well deserved. The owner, Tom Schultz, was prompt at returning my call and scheduling a home visit within 2 days (at a very busy & extra wet season) to assess my mold issues. Tom was both very knowledgeable and personable. He allayed my fears and also shared written mold information from the CDC. Aside from the visible mold, he identified the exact area of my basement ceiling that was also at risk for mold due to moisture (using a moisture meter) and took the extra time to identify the potential source. Above all, Tom was honest and didn't come in to just take my money. Rather he explained that the amount of mold removal required was within a DIY homeowner's or handyman's scope of work. He also quoted a competitive price for professional remediation, if so desired. While I plan to go the handyman route at this time, I would not hesitate to call Tom again if more extensive mold developed. Extra kudos and thanks to Tom for braving the frustrating construction detours that plague almost all sides of my neighborhood!

I called Certified Mold Inspection & Remediation Services (Tom) because of some black spots on drywall near the front entrance to our home. Tom was courteous, professional and listened to my situation before providing his advice. Long story short, Tom could have just made a site visit to my house and charged me for his services, but instead, he asked some probing questions and offered some free advice, which turned out to be exactly what was happening in my particular situation and exactly what I needed to do to resolve it. Tom is a rare business find in 2019 - a man who put helping someone 1st over making a profit. In the future, if I need his services again, or if any of my friends/relatives do, Certified Mold Inspection & Remediation Services (Tom) will be the 1st company I will call/recommend.

Tom was extremely helpful. He evaluated the situation and said that it was a problem we could easily take care of ourselves. He sat down and explained to us exactly what we needed to do even down to recommended products to use. He graciously told us no charge for his evaluation and help. I am so grateful for the honest company that Tom runs. Mold can really scare some people (like myself), so it is priceless to have someone as awesome as Tom and his crew to assist with any testing/remediation needs you might have. As the reviews state, Tom talks to you about cleaning up mold on your own over the phone before he even offers to come out and take a look. He honestly just wants to help people!! I had been putting off cleaning up some suspected mold in my basement because it just freaked me out, but when I was selling my house the mold needed to finally be addressed. I had the best experience with Tom. He is very communicative and was able to stop by my house only 2 days after I contacted him to look at the mold in the basement. He explained the situation and advised me on the best course of action. He is a kind and honest person and I would highly recommend him!

I only joined Angie's List so I could share with other people what a positive experience this was. I had previously hired another person to do mold testing in my basement, but was doubtful about the report, especially when the OTHER report recommended clearly unnecessary remediation by their friends and partners. Tom was thorough, spending 5x the amount of time the previous inspector did and he clearly detailed a simple action plan. He is obviously an expert in his field, and offered low-cost alternatives that are superior to popular, high-buck products. He supported his approach with science and research, which was comforting to me. Save yourself some headache and call this guy FIRST.

Tom came and looked at my mold problem promptly. He determined it was not too bad, and I could remediate it myself. He spent about a half hour explaining how to do it and eased my mind about any danger. He was extremely helpful and respectful. I asked if I could pay him for the home visit, and he wouldn't take any money. Could not ask for better service! A+

Tom got right back to me and talked by phone with me for at least 20 minutes about my concerns with mold in our new kitchen ceiling. Since nothing has changed for a couple years, he suggested that we try using a mold killer, specific primer and specific top coat before cutting into the ceiling. If there is no additional evidence after doing this, he said that the mold probably doesn't have moisture to continue growing and therefore we most likely will be OK without further work. This info was all at no charge -- and if we find there is more growth, Tom will definitely get our call!
