I first contacted Tom to come see the problem. He came right out THAT day! We scheduled the mold remediation for a month out. He sent two guys who worked tirelessly for 11 hours. This is the 2nd time we have called Tom at Certified Mold Inspection. The first time was several years ago when we thought we had a possible issue in our basement. Tom came out and evaluated the situation , indicated that mold was not currently an issue and gave use digestions on how to prevent an issue from occurring in an area that tends to get some water after have rainfall. He did not charge us for coming out, evaluating the situation and making recommendations. This time I contact Tom due to the positive experience we had had previously. I told him I likely need a price quote on mold removal. He lived up to that positive customer experience and professionalism. I spoke with him on a Monday and he was out at our home by Wednesday. We had concerns about possible mold issues on several windows in our home and also possible mold in a bathroom. Tom evaluated the situation and to my relief said mold was not an issue in the bathroom but, as I had suspected, was an issue in the bedrooms. He quickly discussed how this mold occurred, remedies to prevent the humidity/condensation from rising in the home especially during the winter and how to clean and kill off the current mold on the window. Tom was very through, detailed and patient while I asked questions and took notes. He reassured me what I was dealing with was not toxic mold and that I could kill it and prevent it from coming back if I followed the steps he gave me. In total Tom as at our home for about 45 minutes. When I asked him what I owed him for coming out and the consultation he said I did not owe him for his services that day. I was truly appreciative of his assistance with addressing the mold concerns and alleviating my fears about the safety of our home and also the worry that this would be an expensive endeavor to rid out home of the mold. I would definitely use Tom and Certified Mold Inspection in the future. He went above and beyond, on 2 occasions, in his customer focus and desire to provide a trustworthy and positive experience for his customer. Thank you Tom!!

I called Tom to find a time for him to look at bathroom ceiling. After describing the situation, he walked me through the steps I could take to remediate the issue on my own, thus saving me money and educating me in the process. Great service.

I called this company after I had another company give me results I did not trust.This company responded quickly,was thorough and honest.Since it was a consultation and he did not feel work needed to be done there was no charge.

I had been dreading dealing with a basement mold problem, fearing it would be expensive and messy. It was neither. Tom was great to work with--responsive, helpful, and straightforward about what needed to be done--and what was unnecessary. Rather than scheduling the work all on one day, he suggested 2 half days, with an air scrubber set up for the intervening days. Frank, who did the work, cleaned all the surfaces and removed a few small areas of moldy sheetrock. It seemed to be a good method. I asked for a before and after air quality test, which they provided. The lab results showed total fungi were 14810/cubic meter before and 1867/cubic meter after remediation. On Tom's recommendation, I also scheduled a duct cleaning, which further reduced the fungi to 367/cubic meter. I am more than pleased with the results.

Called and spoke with the owner. He talked me through the situation and proposed several avenues to pursue before engaging him and spending money. He was very helpful and generous with his time and expertise at no cost to me. I don't think I will need to pay for his services, but he earn d my trust if I ever need work in the future.

Called Tom about a mold/mildew issue in our basement, near our private well water pump. He asked me to describe the issue, and told me, given the size of situation, that I likely did have a small mold issue, and that the white substance on the ground was efflorescence and explained what that was. He then proceeded to tell me what to do to deal with the situation, that he could come out and do it all for a fee, but that it was a pretty simple cleanup job. He explained how to go about cleaning it up in detail, and said to call back if I had any questions. If I ever have a bigger issue, I will be sure to call Tom back!

The inspection was done on September 18. Tom was friendly and professional. We received his report mold sampling, inspection, and recommendations, as well as a copy of the analytical lab findings on September 23. Tom didn't find any "bad" mold in our home, but did identify a couple of things that can be done to reduce indoor allergens that we will act upon. We are happy there is no "bad" mold to be remediated, but are still looking for the solutions to our respiratory issues! It was good to rule household mold out as a factor.

It took a very long time for my report to come back, after expressing my frustration I was offered a reduction in cost.

The gentlemen arrived exactly on time, and did the job perfectly. They "sanitized" the floor and areas that needed it, and painted some necessary areas requiring that. They removed all the debris and brought in an "air scrubber" to clear all the particles out of the air. They suggested what remedies could be done to avoid the issues in the future. We felt they did a very professional job.

He was very thorough. He checked the area for moisture and also along the outside wall of the room. There was only moisture in a small area in the corner that a table had been sitting on. He also checked a closet in an adjoining room and found moderate moisture in it. We had been having a slight musty smell off and on in our walk out family room since this spring. We have never had a damp basement before. He also checked that area. He found the carpet had significant moister in a roughly 12x15 foot area by the back door and also some along the exterior wall. He checked the drywall in the area and assured us that it was dry. He explained the problem appeared to be that over time our outside retaining walls had settled and were now draining towards our foundation instead of away. He brought us outside to show us areas that were needing to be regraded. Inside he felt that we were capable of fixing the problem without hiring more help. He gave us details on a product that can be applied to the concrete to seal it so water will not seep up from it any more. Outside he explained how to grade the retaining walls so water will flow away from our foundation.

Very good experience. I was impressed at Tom's level of knowledgeable about mold given the limited time he has been in this business. He is straightforward, explained things clearly and gave recommendations, some being repairs I could perform myself. I felt he was very honest and provides his services in the best interests of his customers. I was happy that our home got a clean bill of health.

Certified Mold Remediation did a very through and professional job. They were very thoughtful about controlling chemical smells to which we are sensitive. Our basement has stayed mold-free. I hope I never have another mold problem, but if I do, I will call Bob at Certified Mold Remediation.

Tom Schultz did a mold inspection on our master bathroom and in two areas of our basement. He found a small amount of mild mold. We hired him to remove the mold which involved removing some of the wall, tile and shower panel in our Master bathroom shower and applied sanitizer to exposed surfaces (wood & pipes). In the basement they cleaned the mold from the bottom east, west and north foundation walls. The worker then applied a moisture/mold resistant paint to the full wall on the east, west and north foundation walls. In the shower they cleaned the wood and pipes in the shower and then applied. They were careful to contain the area while working on the mold issue. They removed the debris as well. Tom provided us a Mold Remediation Report that described what they found, how they fixed it and how we can prevent mold in the future. Tom was very knowledgeable on the mold subject and was easy to work with.

Tom immediately replied and put my nervous at ease. To top it off, I called him in the morning per his request and he chatted with me for 20 minutes about the lab results. He proceeded to educate me a little further on mold, the myths and legends that it has and my stress was released. He told me that we could handle cleaning the small section ourselves and it was not at all as bad as originally diagnosed. I told him that if I could hug him, I would. He gave me all the instructions on how to safely remove the spots and we did so with 100% success. He's the best and I can't thank him enough for taking the time to chat with me at ZERO COST. I highly recommend Tom!

Tom verified if there was mold present. He helped me understand what to look for and had pictures of examples. Thankfully, what was thought to be mold, was not.

They came to the opinion we didn't have a mold problem and didn't charge us anything for the time they spent here.

Tom was very professional and helpful with giving us information on what needed to be done and the process involved with removing mold.

Great! Testing was done in 20 minutes, but the tech also walked around the whole house and pointed out small changes I could make to reduce the possibility of mold forming like using a different kind of filter in our furnace and turning off our whole house humidifier. Turns out there was no mold in the tested area. It's been a couple of months and the allergies that prompted this have not returned.

Tom came out and inspected our attic where the condensation was forming. He saw signs of moisture in the past and two small areas of mold. We are very lucky that they were small. He discussed the situation with us and we were happy to hire his company to come out, treat the wood and mold, and then seal it all. The work was scheduled quickly and completed in less than a day. We are very satisfied with this service.
