I didn't believe the previous reports who had similar experience but thought it was worth giving him a call. I figured they were family or friends, but it's true, as hard as it is to believe. He was great to talk to, called me back right away and solved my problem without charging me a fee. Don't know how he can stay in business doing that, maybe it's all the referrals he'll get from folks like me. Great guy, great advice, and I can't afford not calling him in the future. Thanks Tom.

We had a pipe that had a leak on the second floor and water leaked down through three floors. The water got into the insulation. We called on Monday and set appt for Wed. Tom was responsive and took time to explain everything. He spoke with me about all the mold issues in the house, not just the particular issues I called him for. He told me how to do the work myself, if I chose. He clearly was more interested in retaining business then getting a bigger paycheck. In the end, there was not a major problem and he informed me there was no need for any further services, unless I did not want to do the work myself.

Tom was was very professional, prompt and knowledgeable. I wasn't sure if we had a mold problem, but due to Tom's vast experience he soon realized that it wasn't a mold issue. He continued to explore possibilities as to the cause and found that it was actually a loose drain closure cap. It ended up being too loose allowing fungus and unwanted growth to build up from wetness. Weekling bleach cleaning is the solution.

He was very thorough. He educated us about water moisture and mold and spent a good amount going through the whole house.

Washing machine overflowed on two previous occasions. We questioned whether there was a possibility of mold growth from these two events. Tom (Schultz) arrived promptly at stated appointment time. Provided a thorough inspection of both rooms; including checking sheetrock, insulation, floor boards, and under carpeting. Tom was very helpful in moving furniture away from the walls. Fortunately, no mold or mildew was found. Tom spent well over an hour at our home and gave us helpful tips to improve the home's airflow and circulation. All in all, we were very pleased with his work and would not hesitate to recommend his services to others.

Tom was great. He arrived at our house on time for the appointment. After reviewing the mold in our basement he recommended how we could clean it up ourselves. He spend around an hour at our house and was extremely professional and helpful.

Tom was very helpful, even though by the time of our appointment the odor had dissipated. He recommended that the grade be improved around the perimeter of our house and gave us a referral to someone who could do it properly. He tested several areas for moisture and was very thorough with advice and explanations. It was well worth the fee.

Perfectly. They arrived when they said and completed the work per the bid. No surprises. A note on mold remediation: BE CAREFUL Four of the 5 contractors (insulation/ generals) recommendations would have actually made our problem worse. In our case, we had such varying "solutions" that we hired a residential engineer to sort it out. In the end, we didn't need a new roof AND we didn't need more ventilation, we needed the "bypasses" sealed up.

Tom showed up promptly to inspect the damage. He was professional, honest and his opinion (which provided peace of mind) was well worth the call. Based on other reports on Angie's List and my experience with this company, it is obvious Tom is highly regarded in his field. I was more than pleased.

Tom Schultz was wonderful. He was prompt to our appointment, was highly knowledgeable, and educated us on the mold problems in our basement and garage. He told us exactly what he would do and gave other advice for preventing future problems with mold. The day he provided service, he was prompt, got to work right away, and did a wonderful job. We were very pleased with his work.

Tom came out and inspected the damage. Then, when we explained we were in the process of replacing some of the drywall ourselves as a DIY project, he explained that he would be happy to do the work, but then explained how we could do it ourselves and save the money. He spent a considerable amount of time (well over an hour) considering it didn't net him an immediate job. We would certainly hire him in the future if we needed him.

Tom answered my call on Monday, came to inspect our shower on Tuesday morning, and scheduled the repair work for Friday morning. He was very thorough in his initial inspection. Suspecting a leaky pipe, he viewed additional areas in the basement and upper floor, to better identify what plumbing issues could be contributing to the mold problem. Tom assured us that the mold problem was minor, and explained in detail how we could remove the mold and repair the ceiling ourselves to save money. We chose to hire Tom to do the work. He arrived Friday morning as promised, and completed the work in a very timely manner. He was very personable, and patient and friendly with my three young children, who wanted to play "a-thousand-questions". He contained all odors and mess during the job - would never have known he was here except for the scrubbing sound! I felt very confident with his knowledge and expertise, and I have absolutely no doubt that the job could not have been done better.

I thought I had a mold problem in my basement. When Tom from Certified came out he was honest and explained what I thought was mold was really mineral deposits which were not a health threat. It was so nice to have an honest person assess the situation versus just trying to sell me a service I didn't need. He was very professional. If I ever do have a mold problem, I will call him.

Tom answered the phone when I called. I explained that the smell in my tenant's bedroom had lasted a couple weeks. I told him I'd had 3 plumbers out and a drain cleaner, each having a different idea of what the problem was, all recommending expensive solutions, all which would inconvenience my tenants. He listened carefully when he came over and I explained the problem and its history. He spent about an hour inspecting the cramped, difficult to visualize plumbing access closet where the smell was coming from. He was able to tell me there was absolutely no evidence of mold. He said the smell was neither mold nor sewer gas. He was very concerned about my situation and careful to explain his finding. I then called a concrete man to patch up the small hole in concrete slab floor inside the plumbing access closet. The smell went away immediately. Tom was exactly the man I needed to set me on the right track.

Tom responded to our call very quickly, and was able to come out to our house nearly as fast, which was important to us because the amount of mold discovered in our basement was very concerning. Tom was extremely professional and knowledgeable about mold identification, prevention and removal. The individuals that performed the actual removal were also very professional, did an excellent job, and kept the job site clean. We had complete peace of mind that the job was being done thoroughly and correctly.

Tom came to evaluate our water damage and resulting mold build up in our basement. He told us the problem wasn't nearly as bad as we originally thought and recommended we do the work ourselves to save some money. He was very professional and provided valuable, helpful advice. He spent an hour and didn't charge us for his time. Would definitely recommend him to others assessing a mold problem.

While purchasing a new home, our inspector discovered water damage and mold in the basement. We contacted Tom to access the damage and provide an estimate for us to remedy the problem. Tom assured us that he could easily fix the issue before we moved into our new home. Tom and his crew were top notch: arriving on time, finishing ahead of schedule and performing additional work, while sticking to his original bid. They were extremely professional and personable, explained in detail what they were going to do and left the area clean. They even hauled away extra large materials they hadn't planned for. I would recommend Tom and am glad I used them.

Tom was very professional and helpful. We were pleased to learn we did not have a significant problem with mold and there was no water leakage. He did not even charge us for the inspection since he said he was already in the area on another home inspection. He was helpful in advising us about what to do.

Tom was very responsive, he first assessed the situation over the phone and gave instructions on how to deal with the patch of mold we found. When we found a second area, we called again and asked him to come and assess the situation in person. Tom arrived promptly. He quickly identified our moisture problem and told us how to fix it. He also said if we felt comfortable with it, we could remove the mold ourselves and walked us through the process. We decided to hire Tom instead. Tom and Jim arrived at the appointed time to begin the removal process. They removed the Mold, affected sheet rock and insulation. They treated the remaining openings with a fungicide and disinfectant. Tom recommended what needed to be done/repaired before reconstruction. They were very thorough and cleaned up very well after themselves. With the exception of the open walls, you would have never known they were there. A week later we received a report detailing the entire removal process.

They did not charge us anything because there was no major mold. Talked with us about the challenges of mold, and individual sensitivity.

He is very responsive and very willing to offer advice over the phone. He is also very cost conscious. He came back at no extra charge once we had taken down some sheet rock to get a better look and he promised to do the same once we tear down the rest of the basement if needed.

I was very pleased with Tom's work. He came to do an estimate and in addition, gave me lots of information on mold and the whole remediation process. He also gave me different websites and phone numbers of places where I could get more information before making my decision. He did not pressure me to choose him;rather, he gave me different options for how to handle this, depending on cost, and let me know which he recommended and why. He also did not try to scare me, which I appreciated! He had the attitude of "yes, we can handle this" and was very reassuring. He and his other workers were very careful not to track things through my home, and cleaned up everything before they left. There was a dispute with another company over which things they were supposed to do and Tom also went to bat for me, contacting them on my behalf. All in all, he made a really horrible situation (having the mold develop in the first place!) as tolerable as possible. I'd definitely hire him again if needed.
