Tom arrived right on time and went through my house thoroughly, giving me tips on what I could do to keep air flowing and reduce the musty smell that prompted my call for the inspection. Ultimately, he told me that I had nothing to worry about, and my cost was just for that of the inspection. I was so pleased, not only that I didn't have a costly mold problem on my hands, but also that Tom was honest and told me as such. I would definitely recomment Certified Mold Inspection Services

They were punctual and did a great job.

I called Tom to set up a potential service call for black mold showing on sheet rock in the ceiling of my show. Instead of charging me to come out, he explained some simple steps in a 10 minute phone call I could take to solve the issue myself. He was patient, clear, and generous with his time. I was impressed he provided enough advice to eliminate my need for now for a service call, but he knew my problem didn't require a service call. I would use him for a service call in the future and trust him because of his generosity this time.

Tom responded quickly to my phone call and had a time available to meet the next day. He was a little late, largely due to the GPS not directing him easily through the one-way streets in our neighborhood, but when he got here he got right to work. He assured us that the bathroom mold/mildew situation wasn't dire or dangerous, and gave us simple fixes that wouldn't necessitate ripping out a wall. His solutions included doing some re-grouting and re-caulking, vacuuming the bathroom fan, and increasing the air circulation in the house by keeping the furnace fan in the 'on' position, rather than 'auto'. The solutions for the basement were as simple, but will require a handyperson to complete. Air circulation was again the key. He also suggested using a higher grade of furnace filter, which will help keep the dust down. Tom also walked around the exterior of the house with us, suggesting that we run our drainpipes further away from the house where possible, or redirecting them in other ways. Angling dirt away from the house was also suggested as a way to minimize moisture permeation of the foundation. Tom was pleasant, easy to work with, and reassuring. If we'd needed more extensive work, I would have been glad to have his company do it.

Tom was professional from the start when I spoke with him over the phone, he was available for an appointment right away. He was absolutely professional, thorough, and willing to take time to explain what he saw. He showed us that what we are seeing are water damage issues, and he recommended that we call someone else because the work that needs to be done does not have to be done by a mold remediation specialist. We are very appreciative of his candor and honesty because he saved us some money; however, of course this means that we won't be working with Tom. Regardless, we will absolutely call him again if the need arises. We highly recommend him.

Additional Follow up: We ended up contacting two providers, one was Certified Mold Inspection. Both providers came out...Certified Mold Inspectors was by far the better provider. They gave us an honest, clear explanation of what they thought the problem was, other potential but less likely issues, and how we could test our selves and clean up ourselves as he felt it was not a safety issue. We ended up very happy with our service from this company and would definitely use them again if ever needed and would certainly recommend them to others. Great service and very knowledgeable and happy to help you figure out how to do as much as you can safely on your own. I guess they were out of town when I had first called and that was why they hadn't responded. Our later communication was all good.

When we noticed mold from an area of our home that experienced a roof leak, I wanted a professional opinion right away. Tom was just the right person to call! From the moment we spoke on the phone, he calmed my mold fears and directed me to internet sites with helpful, honest mold facts. He was able to come over the next day (today), and he was pleasant, honest, and very helpful. He was not rushed and talked to us about potential ways to clean up the area and was also helpful in directing us to the root of our problem. We still need to do our homework to decide what course of action to take, but I know that if we need professional help, Tom is the one we will call. He has our highest recommendation!

When Tom arrived, I was expecting to get a confirmation that, yes, indeed, we had a mold problem and that it would require extensive remediation work to remove plaster to open up the ceiling, take out wet boards, etc. etc.. In other words, a highly disruptive and expensive project. om conducted a thorough inspection with metering devices and taking up carpet to do a visual inspection. As he proceeded, he indicated that we may not have as big a problem as we feared. Great news! When he concluded, he recommended no rip out, no substantial remediation, just a few fixes that I could do myself. Since Certified does the remediation work, Tom was passing up an opportunity to land a contract that would have lined his pockets and depleted ours. But, he did not do that. A less honest company might not have let that opportunity slip by, since I was prepared to believe that we had a miold issue and was in no position to second-guess what an expert told me. I can only conclude from this experience that Certified is not merely competent but very honest!! With so many home services outfits taking advantage of people these days, it was a joy to find an honest person. Tom Schultz is all of that.

After finding some discolored beams in the basement and having some mold concerns from previous water leaks. I contacted Mold Remediation Services LLC. Tom arrived on time and inspected the areas of concern. He explained to me the I did not have an active mold problem and that the "old mold" could be easily and safely removed by myself. He told me what products to use and where they could be purchased. I found Tom to be knowledgeable, honest, and ethical.

I have been refinishing a small room in my basement. After putting down a coat of primer, something started growing on top of the fresh paint. Having mold allergies, I was really scared. I called Tom and wanted him to come out and look at whatever was going on. He came out and reassured me that the area was really small and I could probably clean it up myself. He told me about some products and paints I could use. He really put my mind at ease.

I felt comfortable with Tom and his crew. Every step was thoroughly explained to me, including costs. When the crew was doing the remediation, Tom came out to inspect the problem and see how they were doing. Our basement flooded in one of the 2011 rainstorms. That cost us a carpet and pad and lots of hassle. We'll need to do some repairs in addition to replacing the carpet so, before we do that, I wanted to have a mold expert check things out.Tom was great.He surveyed the modest damage and gave us a quote to do the work at their high standards. He also gave me some suggestions about what I'd need to do the work myself. On his way out, he also made some suggestions about the grade around our foundation to help avoid a future flood.He was awesome.

Certified Mold came to our house to see the damage, they asked questions and gave me answers immediately, they looked beyond the initial damage we knew of and found more mold in the laundry room we were not aware of initially. He also looked in our guest bedroom to make sure the damage didn't continue further down the wall. He gave me an estimate immediately. When the workers came to do the remediation they were on time and very professional. They talked to me about what they would be doing and sealed off the area. After they were done, they explained everything they had done and what they found. They cleaned up all the debris and left the area clean, and gave me excellent suggestions on how to prevent the mold from returning. I sent an email to Tom and he called me back right away, set up a meeting at my house for a few days from our conversation. When he arrived, I was first taken aback by his very calm confidence and what seemed to me to be a very seasoned, experienced persona (when it came both to houses and dealing with people). After just a few minutes of conversing with him, I felt tremendously comfortable trusting him. He let me show him around the house and tell him of the areas where I was concerned about mold, which he carefully inspected and all the while he chatted with me about how old my house was, how it was probably constructed using the remains of other houses that had collapsed years before mine was built, showing me different colored wood in my floor and explaining how construction crews often recycled home materials from the city, etc. Tom's strength - and it's a killer - is his charisma and his friendly authority. He checked my bathroom and my attic for mold and told me all about how mold grows, spreads, goes dormant, etc. He asked me why I was concerned that I might have a problem with it. I mean, he really wrapped his mind around my situation and my house. He offered some advice as to why I might be getting sick in the winters, and that it probably has nothing to do with mold at all. He was patient and listened more intently than some of my closest friends do - and that's not to knock my friends! He even offered advice on other projects I told him I was working on. The guy has a treasure trove of DIY home improvement knowledge. I wondered if the price I paid was kind of high before I met him in person, but by the time I handed him the check, I really thought I was getting a deal and was actually a tad disappointed that I wouldn't be able to work with him, seeing as how my home checked out - no mold. I would hire Tom in an instant if I ever needed him again and, if a friend, colleague, coworker or family member needed a mold inspector, I would flat out insist they contact Certified Mold Inspection & Remediation Services so they could get an inspection from Tom.

Tom came to do the estimate and was very reassuring that this was a problem that they could resolve. He gave an explanation as to the problem he was seeing and solutions that would resolve the mold issue. His employees -- Mark and Frank came to do the work on the appointed day. They were courteous and professional and worked hard all day getting my basement clear of the mold. They explained what they were seeing and doing all along the way. They also diagnosed the source of the mold as a drain problem with my kitchen sink. All other companies that did estimates said it was the outside grading this is the first company that actually correctly determined what the problem was. I no longer have water seeping into the basement. They were fantastic!

These guys were excellent. They really knew their business. We needed to coordinate the mold abatement with a complete re-roofing job, and they worked with the roofing company to come up with a coordinated schedule. They also advocated for a better roofing job for us while they were here with the roofing team, insisting that more vents needed to be installed and insisting that one entire section of the roof needed new plywood planks. When I called around to ask who to use for mold abatement, a bunch of people told me Tom Schultz and his team. I definitely intend to have them come back in the future to check out if we have any additional problems, and I will trust their assessment completely.

They took twenty minutes out of their time to talk to me on the phone and steer me in a different direction, other than having them come out and inspect my place for mold. They helped me save money so that I could have better results. They went out of their way to help me.

Tom gave me a list of products to use and the best ways to get rid of the mold! It was great to also get landscaping tips to help with preventing future water from getting into the basement - which we did not even receive from the companies who came out for waterproofing/drain tile systems!
