Tom could not have been more helpful. He came out to inspect the house the very next day after calling him for an appt. and after walking around our house with us trying to find a mold smell it was not present at the time so he offered to come back when it was. Then, we looked at various points of prior water intrusion and Tom gave us advice on what to do and in the areas where there were small amounts of mold present, like around our downstairs bathroom. Tom told us how to take care of the problem and also gave us plumbing and mice eradication advice. He didn't want to charge us for the visit and said we could pay him when he comes back when the mold smell is present but I really appreciate how he treated us and how helpful he was so I felt better about paying him now and he when we smell mold again he will reinspect without charge. After dealing with Tom I can understand why he has all the A Ratings on Angie's List and wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend him in the future.

Tom was super informative, very friendly and helpful. He was thorough and spent the whole time making additional recommendations, ie for prevention. He felt that my problem was small enough that I could handle it myself and gave instruction for this. I found him to be generous with his time and info. I am relieved we did not find a major issue, but if I ever did I would surely give Tom a call

Tom Schultz was prompt in coming out for an initial inspection and gave me an understandable explanation of the problem and how they could fix it. The two-day job went well with very courteous, punctual and professional workers who cleaned up after the work was done each day. Tom Schultz uses e-mails to deliver documents and answered my e-mail questions and concerns with patient understanding and professionalism. I went with this provider because of its Angie's List rating.

Tom recommended that we try to clean the mold ourselves to avoid the service call charge. He walked me through the cleaning process step-by-step and even gave me some pointers on how to improve the air quality of our home, in general. All I can say is WOW! It's rare to find someone who really cares about his customers the way Tom does. If the mold grows back, I will not hesitate to give him a call.

Informative, professional, educated.......pointed out concerns to bring to the attention of my condo association.......they hired an "industrial hygienist" to do their own inspection and he disagreed with Certified Mold's analysis......because my issues are still developing and my association is considering what work to be done, I have no final conclusion to write. When this is all resolved and my issues fixed, I will add to this review.

Tom came out to the home I was looking to purchase. The inspector uncovered potential mold and I wanted an expert to take a look. Tom took about 15 minutes up in the attic and told me there was mold and that it could be fixed. He actually gave me a quote right on the spot. And the quote was REALLY competitive. I had a plan when I contacted him and he helped to affirm that I was on the right track, as well as offer some direction that had not occured to me. This kind of approach really speaks volumes and really gives a consumer piece of mind. Although Tom never made a dime for his effort, if I ever need this service he will be my first call. Furthermore, any opportunity to reccomend him to others in need I would not hesitate to give them his information.

Tom's workers, Frank and Mark, came to the house on time and set out to do their work in a most professional way. They made sure all surfaces up to the attic were protected (i.e. carpeting), and then went about scrubbing and sanitizing prevasive mold contamination all over the attic of this 100 year old home. After the cleaning part of the project was complete, Frank and Mark came the next day to coat the surfaces by applying both a primer coat and a final coat of a mold inhibiting paint. The attic now looks better in all probability than it did when the house was brand new! The clean up was perfect. And all along in the two day course of this project, we felt that Mark and Frank were conscientious and professional, as well as cordial and trustworthy. Thus, the three people we met from this firm, Tom, Mark and Frank, are all very fine, knowledgable gentlemen - a pleasure to have around and work with.

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Tom on this project. We had mold in the older parts of the basement on the cinder block walls. Tom made two visits to our house, each time to give us ideas for what we could do in terms of scope and how much we could do ourselves. We mulled things over. Then, after the big June storm, we decided to bite the bullet and install drain tile with battery back-up sump pump. (This work was not done by Tom, but he advised us on this process and indicated that it would be best to do the mold clean-up after the drain tile work.) Tom then gave us a quote on the mold remediation work, keeping the price very reasonable given the amount of area to be cleaned up. Frank did the work. It took all day and he was neat and clean, and he ran a HEPA air scrubber etc. following all of the correct procedures. The results are amazing. One of the walls looks as if it was freshly painted, that is how clean it came out. Tom advised us on a type of paint we could use if we do want to paint the walls, and he even helped us connect the pesky hose to our dehumidifier that we never had been able to figure out. This is a professional company with an owner and employees who are experts in their work, certified, trustworthy, and who go the extra mile for you. And I might add, we learned a lot along the way--Tom and Frank are both very good at explaining the science behind all of this, and Tom is very down to earth about doing what's needed but not overdoing. We highly recommend this company. I'm sure they get busy especially after a major Minnesota water event, but we found Tom easy to reach and had no problems scheduling our project.

After discovering sheet rock mold under our interior stair case during a stair and handrail reconstruction process, we researched various local mold companies and stumbled across Tom's name. He had a consistently reputable track record on Angie's List, so we called him and he was able to accommodate a prompt meet time within a few days. He informed us over the phone that it would be $195 for the assessment, which we were ok with. He was running a little ahead of schedule that morning, and had called us to see if an earlier time could work, which it did. He was friendly, informative and most helpful in helping us decide on a mold removal attack plan. He was able to list multiple estimates for various avenues we were considering in removing the mold, and was upfront and honest with his removal process price vs a do-it-yourself price. After Tom's thorough assessment of the mold area, he informed us that the mold was localized and not a widespread problem, which would be better served repairing on our own. He encouraged us to lay concrete over a sealed vapor barrier below the stairs, as the area was not completely cemented during the build in 1969 (we're not sure why the builders didn't concrete that area, leaving just dirt as floor under the old stairs, allowing moisture to saturate up through the dirt in an unventilated area over time). He told us what vapor barrier to buy and how thick, and also encouraged us to vapor barrier a crawl space not far from the mold area. As for now, the new sheet rock has been added, and we added the vapor barrier and concrete under the stairs to create a seal so moisture won't be a problem in the future. Thanks to Tom's quick response and meet time, we can now resume the stair project. Thanks Tom!

Tom inspected the water-stained second-floor wall I had been concerned about, went into the attic to check for moisture above the problem area and also checked the level below. He declared all areas free of mold and suggested that I get a handyman to take care of the stained wall. It was very reassuring to learn from a professional that I did NOT have a mold problem. I was surprised - and even felt a bit guilty - that Tom didn't charge anything for the inspection.

Tom was very courteous and instructive in his comments. Very low profile and helpful after learning there was nothing for him to do.

We got them from Angie's List. We are going with them. They are actually downstairs in the basement starting to remove some of the mold. So far, everything has gone fine. It's been a very slow, painful and frustrating process. It is not per se on their part. We moved into this house; we have been here for two and a half months. A month into the house and we found mold in the basement. So we have to go very slow and very methodical because it turns into a court case. The whole process has been frustrating, but not necessarily with the vendors, just everything that we are going through. With him, it has been fine. He has been very good about communication, sending us information and trying to keep us up to date. So we are happy with his service. He is knowledgeable; he knows the stuff about mold. He came down and did the testing and testing for moisture. He knows his mold. He is very straightforward and direct in a good way. He will tell us what he sees. He is not going to sugarcoat anything. He will tell us what's wrong and how they are going to go about it. Everything has been good. We will see what happens once they tear into the walls and actually finish the whole thing. We have had to meet with lawyers. It's not on any fault of his. With regard to price, I don’t know because we didn’t use anybody else. We picked him because he had such good ratings. He is fine. I can't say if he is high or low because we didn’t have anybody else quote, so there was no comparison. He is probably on ballpark. We haven't got the final bill; I can't really say. So far, he is on par. So far, the quality has been good. They are tearing into the walls today, so we will see what it's like. We had some stuff down there. They said that they are going to put plastic in our loft and on the furniture we have down there. They are taking care of things and they are very personable. With regard to responsiveness, he has been very good and very upfront. He had to take a week off due to a family emergency. He told us that he was going to be out of the state. He said that he is not going to be answering phones, which is understandable. My husband called him a day or two early. He did answer the phone and said that he will be taking phone calls the next day. So he was very pleasant and let us know. We called him the next day, got a hold of him and he talked to us. He has been very good that way.

Tom was responsive to the request. He provided initial comments over the phone, which was helpful to determine whether a mold problem existed, and was honest about his initial thoughts before coming on-site. On site, he was prompt, and very knowledgeable about mold and issues. He provided recommendations for ways to mitigate any future potential for mold.

They came back and cut out all the mold infected materials and treated it for mold so that it wouldn't reoccur. They also cleaned up after themselves and sent me report.

Tom tested before and after the remediation. He took out moldy building materials and scrubbed and sealed what was left. He ran a HEPA filtration system to clean the air. He knew I was in a hurry to get it done and even brought the crew in on a Saturday to meet my deadline. I couldn't have asked for more.

1. Tom is in great demand and my schedule is crazy, but we eventually got a date that would work for us. 2. He arrived exactly on time. 3. He took a look at the original problem and listened closely as I explained what happened and how the situation was fixed so no more water would come in. He then reconfirmed what my contractor told me which helped me feel better about previous decisions. 4. He then assessed the mold/damaged area. He went to the basement to make sure the water had not caused additional damage. 5. He got his ladder to do a closer inspection and then explained the results of his assessment. He then explained what products we needed to purchase and how we needed to remediate. What impressed me most about Tom is that he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He went above and beyond by showing me some other issues he could see regarding ventilation (not placed appropriately and covered with insulation). He was able to give me a reference for someone who could help me. Finally, he offered even more advice about using my furnace humidifier appropriately in the winter. Overall, a great experience. I even asked Tom if he would be available for consulting related to my cabin up North...and he said sure.

Tom was very professional and knowledgeable. His crew did a great job from start to finish. I highly recommend them.

Tom had previously talked me through some mold questions and been very responsive and helpful over the phone. My husband and I concluded that we actually did want him to come out and complete service, contacted him twice in July to schedule and no response, then got his VM that said he was on vacation for a while, which is fine, but we just contacted again in Aug and still no response. Not sure what is up but frustrating. We're moving on to another contractor now.

Found a small amount of damage but suggested we use a handyman to repair it rather than him. He said his company would have to charge a lot more than a handyman and didn't think the amount of work involved required that. We appreciated his honesty.
