Vicki Dye At Home

It couldn't have gone any better. Vicki helped us choose great colors and recommended a fantastic person to re-upholster our sectional couch.

We had given away most of our old furniture so we need just about everything. We wanted a decorator to do more than just match paint colors. Vicki more than fit the bill. We have artwork over the fireplace from her collection. We have two huge wrought iron "windows" on the wall with vaulted ceiling, again from her. We have an oil painting on canvas on the stair landing from her. We have a spectacular bedroom with drapes and spread custom made by her vendor. And lamps better than any we had seen in a lighting store. We have a cloth tapestry that we bought elsewhere that came from her idea. She taught us so much working with her that we feel we are better able to choose colors and furnishings on our own.

It was really a great experience. I had ideas of what I liked, but didn't know how to pull the whole thing together. I really like the things we purchased and how the rooms look with different furniture placement. I have a "shopping list" of future items to purchase and feel that I now can go out and find the right types of things to buy. I was hesitant to spend so much money to have someone help me with decorating, but I know I would have kept wasting money buying the wrong things. This was money well spent to learn what to do and to gain confidence to do it.

I am very pleased with the final outcome. Vicki is pleasant and easy to work with. She followed up her visit with emails and pictures and mailed me fabric samples to look at. She was very receptive to my likes and dislikes. I was afraid her suggestions might be costly but found them reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to call her again.

This was the most unbelievable experience!! We kept our expectations in check prior to Vicki's arrival. She immediately noticed our house for the exact reasons that we purchased it for and immediately started to assess what we were hoping for, as well as what her suggestions were. After the 1 1/2 to 2 hours at our home, not only were we extremely happy with the results, but were actually looking forward to shopping (which is very rare in our case) because we knew exactly what to get! All I can say is WOW! We will definitely get Vicki back out to the house when we decide to do more work on it or if we want to make any changes. Oh yeah, she is also very receptive to budgets for furniture, etc. We really didn't need to spend much on new stuff for the home. All I can say is ''Amazing''!!!

Vicki was quick to respond to our inquiry and was right on time for the appointment. Vicki had good simple ideas that not only saved us money and time but she looked at things from what would be the best for us in the long run. We will use her again when we get to color and furnishings.

She was really helpful and had many samples. She could sense the things I liked which was helpful. We did all the colors for the first and second floor. I called her a month later for some more work and gave her some colors I thought I wanted. She suggested some more options which we ended up using. That was really nice of her.

Vicki was great! After moving into our new home (existing construction) we had a lot of difficulties deciding where to place our furniture and how to decorate as some of our existing furnishings really didn't work in the new house. Vicki seemed happy to take as much time as we needed walking room to room making suggestions on furniture placement, colors, paint, lighting, window treatments, etc. She had great suggestions on using the furniture and accessories we already had that we wanted to keep. She wrote up her report as we went through the house and emailed it to me the next day, and was available by phone for my follow-up questions.

I had to wait almost 3 weeks for an appointment with Vicki. I guess that's an indication of her demand. We talked for a while about dislikes, I showed her some photos of ideas I had cut and of course, we walked around the rooms to be changed. She immediately formed a plan, explained some of her choices ('wider floor planks are less formal' etc.), and told me she would drop off some samples the next day so we could see the materials alongside the things in our house that are staying. She was back the next day with them. We liked her suggestions, but I suspect that she would have come up with another plan if we were unsatisfied.

GREAT! Timely, courteous and convenient response to my call. Listens well and then came back with very nice decorative ideas for the room addition as well as the adjoining space. At first I had my doubts when the first few strokes of the paint were applied. But it turned out to be perfect. We love the color combinations.

Vicki was very helpful and did a wonderful job in our living and family room. The rooms now are much more inviting and have a warm feeling. Plus she also helped me decide where to put all my artwork. I would hire Vicki again to help with other rooms in my house. I also thought she was very reasonably priced.

I appreciated Vicki's expertise, and ability to help us visualize why what we had initially decided on, probably was not something we would be happy with in the end. That's what we needed, and she provided it in a very professional manner. She will be called on again as our project moves forward as well as with help in other areas of our home.

Working with Vicki was a very positive experience. Vicki is very professional, thoughtful, and listened to our needs. Vicki did a great job of determining the colors and styles we like by examining what we liked and didn't like about our existing living space. Vicki was very easy to work with. She quickly assessed our needs, had immediate and good suggestions for paint colors (even had appropriate paint color samples on hand), and provided ideas for future upgrades. She also gave me confidence that choices we'd made thus far were on the right track and used those choices to guide us in our next painting projects. We felt we got a lot of value for a one hour consultation - she gave us the Angie's List discount plus the lower cost paint color analysis price, despite other suggestions as well.

Vicki is great fun to work with. She is very honest but also kind and works very fast. At first, I was a little nervous, but by changing just a few things in the room we worked on, we were able to really update and clean up the look. She was also willing to help on a few other things in the house that I had quick questions on. I had never had this kind of help before, but I am much happier with the room we had her help with than I was before she came. All in all, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend her.

I felt discouraged and somewhat hopeless about getting everything to coordinate and to have our home be more "dressy" rather than just utilitarian. Vicki Dye had good ideas regarding all of the problem areas. She brought samples to our home and met with me at a floor covering store. She gave us an excellent lead on having the dining room chairs recovered. I especially appreciated that she respected my preference to keep the LR carpet. Even though it is no longer new looking, I like the color and the furniture was chosen to go with it. Vicki went with my preference rather than with what her decorating sense might have suggested, and we coordinated adjacent rooms around the LR carpet. I also was grateful for Vicki's tolerance and patience when, after the carpet and rugs were ordered, I equivocated about having everything done at once and considered delaying some of the work and expense. We went ahead with all of the plans, and I have been very pleased with the result. I highly recommend.

My past experience with decorators has been that they tend to decorate the way "they" see your home rather than listening to how "you" want your home but not Vicki Dye! She gave me information and options but really listened to and respected my taste and input. I was very comfortable with her from the beginning. She was excellent about follow-up and is very reasonably priced! I got more than my money's worth and would recommend her to anyone with either a small or a larger project!

Vicki Dye was able to meet on short notice for a paint and color analysis of a home we recently purchased. She was professional in every sense of the word. She was tremendously helpful in interior painting of a home that screamed 1980's. I would highly recommend her and I'm anticipating that we will be using her for additional services such as window treatments and furniture options.
