Most designers are probably geared to working with clients who want to overhaul their space, from trim to paint to furniture, but she adapted right away to my vintage dumpster eclectic aesthetic. I'm interested in using colors that are contemporaneous with the era of the house's construction and I don't know how deep one can expect an all-around consultant's historical knowledge to be. Hence, I like the grays she recommended for the den, but I don't know how true they would be to the post-deco modernist colors that might have been used on the interior if not for the frugality imposed by the Great Depression. Her advice on window coverings was very good and disabused me of reluctance to consider online offerings. She was friendly and enthusiastic about the potential of my home and furnishings, though I had to ask her at the end what she thought doesn't work in the present arrangement. She encouraged me to thin the collection of vintage and antique curiosities, and pointed out a couple of things specifically. I don't know if I'd have got that valuable advice without asking. In leaving, she gave me, in addition to her list of services and rates, a recommendation to consult a business acquaintance who makes window shades and curtains. I haven't used that reference yet, but will after the holidays.

We went through the entire house and I didn't feel rushed. I really appreciated that Vicki told me what would be her 2nd priority after the floors. In particular, Vicki recommended that freshening up the kitchen cabinets, (switching them from cognac colored wood to white in order to match the rest of the house woodwork) would be a close second to the first job--the new flooring. I loved the insight Vicki offered as well as the reassurance that the stuff I had right was ok to keep. I thought Vicki's suggestions were practical and fit with my taste. When I asked how I could incorporate a paint color I'd like to use, we re-evaluated the master bed/bath plan & I see how I can use the color there with success. Great experience with Vicki. She was also patient & kind with our small children.

Vicki was very prompt, friendly and helpful. She wrote notes on staging for each room of the house and provided these to me. She was very objective and informative and helped me to assess some areas that I had not considered before. Her assistance with paint color helped validate a selection I had made and the painters are here right now applying that color. I love it! :) Having Vicki to act as a sounding board regarding decisions (worth replacing flooring? should I change window treatments?) prior to selling my home was invaluable. She had no emotional attachments to the home and really is able to see things clearly...all in all, well worth the price (a special on "Big Deals")! Easy to talk to and super professional. I would highly recommend her for staging ideas!

We had a great experience with Vicki. She was on time and did not waste time starting the consultation. My boyfriend and I have very different styles and ideas and Vicki was able to help us find the middle ground with ideas we both loved. I think she is professional, creative and offers great perspective. I highly recommend her services.

Vickie was very nice. She was extremely helpful in helping me with ideas for arranging my living room as it is a small room. She gave me hints on what would give the room more space and then suggested wall colors and furniture colors that would complement the room. She brought along a color pallet of paint colors and actually gave me the actual colors I'll be using in the room and I'm brimming with new ideas to give my living room a "face-lift" I liked the fact that she saw potential in using the existing furniture and items I currently have and gave me wonderful advice on what type of sofa I should buy. That was a big purchase I was going to make and I wanted to make the right choice - color choice and style for the room. I never would have come up with the design, details, and color ideas on my own. Vickie was truly helpful. The wall color was especially helpful - because it will complement the color of our kitchen. I would definitely recommend her services.

This was the second home that I used Vicki's design consultation for, so I knew it would be a successful experience. I contacted Vicki and she came over to my new home. We did a walk thru and she captured all of my wants and needs. She also identified which pieces would work from my previous home which helped with my budget. We set up a shopping day where we went out for several hours and picked out furniture, art work and accessories. She was very respectful of my tastes and also my budget. She would provide me with suggestions and ideas that I would have never thought of, which ended up to be the perfect look for my rooms. Here is a room by room recap: office - she helped me pick out furniture and artwork - this is the first room one sees when they walk into my house. Kitchen - she helped me pick out a ceramic tile back splash Great room - she helped me pick out furniture, window treatments, artwork and accessories. We custom ordered 2 chairs. Bedrooms - she helped me pick out window treatments, bedding, accessories and artwork for 4 bedrooms Bathrooms - she helped me pick out paint color, shower curtains, rugs and artwork for 4 bathrooms Family room - she helped me pick out furniture, artwork and accessories. We custom ordered a wonderful ottoman. Front porch - she helped me pick out furniture for my large front porch and plants to create a very welcoming entry into my home Vicki made multiple visits to my home. This project lasted a few months due to the timing of furniture delivery dates. She would come back when furniture arrived and help me put together the room and identify what items needed to be purchased to complete the look. She would then shop independently and find just the right items for those rooms and bring them back to me. I appreciated the fact that she was willing to hang up the items (artwork and accessories) for me. She found everything that I needed to create my perfect design within my budget. She is an absolute joy to work with! She promptly returns calls, is on time for appointments and worked around my very busy work schedule. I highly recommend her. My family and friends have been so complimentary of the results of her efforts and rave about how beautiful and warm my house feels. It truly is perfect! I worked with Vickie in 2007 and had a phenomenal experience so I didn't hesitate to call her again. This experience was different. She did a great job helping me determine where to hang artwork. She also helped me select paint colors. She was to send a written report via e-mail but I still haven't received it. That's very disappointing.

The work wasn't well done. She used a sub contractor, Lynn Johnson, to produce the drapes and install them. The drape doesn't come all the way down and it wasn't installed correctly. Also is was a improper style that was installed across the top. When I contacted her about this problem she told me that they ran out of material. I told her to see what she could do to make it look right. She took some of the original material and some plain material and added it on the sides, which didn't look nice. I'd like to have this issue resolved.

We used Vicki on our lower level four years ago and she gave us some good ideas at that time in layout and color choices that saved us construction costs and we love the way it looks. We are now ready to do our main level and we needed the same type of advise and a second opinion on our ideas. Vicki agreed with some of our ideas and had suggestions for other ways of doing things in some areas. That is what is great about Vicki is she will give you various ideas and then you can make the decision before your start your project and that saves money and time. Then she will help you get the best look you can for the lowest cost.

Vicki was prompt and professional. She identified the style I wanted and provided sound options for me. I really like the way she worked in current decor items since I moved from cottage to transitional/contemporary. I purchased the flooring (carpet and laminate) thru her source and it was delivered in the stated time. I also decided to go with her recommendation on remodelers, Whitetail Builders, and was very pleased with their work. I am very happy with the results.

The project went fairly well, but follow-up and sourcing of materials were issues.

Vicki is absolutely amazing to work with! She helped me find items that I never would have considered and everything looks amazing! We spent 7 hours shopping together at stores within my price range (JC Penney, Home Goods, Kirklands, West Elm). After our shopping she spent time with me putting everything together and even had a contractor come over to hang a very heavy mirror, intall a flat screen tv in my bedroom, hang curtain rods, and hang shelves. She made the process so easy for me! I didn't feel like I had a clue with decorating and she really helped me discover what I like. I am truly enjoying entertaining at my house - my friends come over and are so impressed! I am truly happy with the work and Vicki is someone that I truly recommend!

Vicky was professional but very fun to work with. She was efficient and respectful of our time and budget.

Vicki provided the ideas, color selections, flooring selections, and window treatments for the kitchen, living room, and bathroom remodel. She is extremely efficient. I felt that I got my monies worth and more. There was no small talk and she was all about getting the job done. In addition to coming to my home, we went shopping together. She made it a very easy process because we didn't waste any time. She pre-shops so really all she needs is your ok. She was able to figure out the type of decorting I really wanted even though I couldn't figure it out myself. She did everything I wanted and more.

She had samples available to show me, and everywhere she took me to look was good quality but not too expensive. She not only looked at the color but also the guarantees and that sort of thing. I felt like I wasn't just spending my money willy-nilly. She was very good at helping me pick out colors.

Vicki was pleasant during the consultation and purchasing time. Vicki's policy is if you purchase certain brand of furniture and it is in stock at the time of order placement, full amount will be due because shipment will be 7-14 days. I did order some of the items from this line, so I paid the invoice in full. Problems began when items that I paid in full were not shipping within the 14 day period. Vicki told me that one of the items, a dining table, was on backorder. She then changed the delivery date several times and never offered me a refund. On February 24th, 2008 (3 months since I paid for the table) I decided to search the web and see if I could locate the dining table through another source. I found it available locally for $720.00 less, so I e-mailed Vicki. Her response was that she had spent hours creating the look of a designer home on a budget I was happy with and if I decide to look for cheaper prices on-line, I would need to pay her per hour for her ideas. We finally received a refund when I referred to the terms of the manufacturer of the furniture purchasing agreement; "this line ships in 2 weeks". Vicki said she had to wait the process out until the end of the month because she didn't want to pay out a refund, only to have the table arrive in the states with no buyer. This was not our only problem with Vicki's services. We also received a couch and 2 chairs from another design company and the fabric on the cushions were puckering and bunching. I e-mailed Vicki and asked her for the warranty and manufacturer information; new inserts were sent to my home for the chairs and the wrong size sent for the couch. This did not solve the problem, so I contacted the other design company and was told to ship the cushions to their location in L.A for repair. I paid for the shipping which was $300.00 and then when I received the cushions, I had to pay $150.00 COD for freight. I was not reimbursed for any of the additional costs.

Vicki was punctual, professional and very helpful.

It went extremely well. Vicki worked well with my schedule and timetable.

They told us that our architect wouldn't give them some of our house drawings for measurements.

Overall it went pretty well, she had a lot of good advice from years of experience and has worked with the common colors our house has in terms of trim and style. She also helped us setup a plan to rearrange the living room. I was impressed by the color chart she had, recommendations for paint brands and types and also what is a good choice for art and decoration. I also like that she used our preference of the cheaper items from the home store to make a good interior design, very customized to us. The parts that I was not overly happy with is that she did not write any of the recommendations up for us since my wife was writing this down (not too professional on Vicky's part). She also seemed a bit rushed after about 1.5 hours and we seemed to have to ask directly to finish the last 2 rooms and get our money's worth. Lastly she said that we can email or call her as needed, but according to her website these emails and phone calls will be $15 each. Overall I would recommend her, even with the few flaws she exemplified.

The process went very well. Vicki came to my home to view the kitchen in its original state and gave her input with regards to the new kitchen design. Later we met at her studio in Edina where she gave me advice for wall color and lighting options.

Vicki was outstanding, flexible and professional. She did everything we expected of her and then some. The colors she selected look amazing in our home and all of her furniture solutions have worked perfectly. We will definitely be using her again in the near future as we address other rooms in our home.

The ratings above include my whole association/experience with all these companies. However I would certainly consider hiring Vicki (only) in the future for color suggestions.

She arrived on time, she spoke to both my husband and I about the space. She seemed more in tune to what I wanted than what my husband thought, but that helped us settle a difference of opinion with her professional input. She suggested contractors and gave us color ideas. We have yet to complete the project, but we will use her input to help us plan and complete the space.
