Sy made an appointment to come measure for the sashes, and then it took a couple of weeks for him to come back with the finished sashes and install them. He and his small crew work neatly and very fast.

I've been searching for 6 years, but have had great difficulty finding good quality wooden storms that meet the needs of an older home. Most are either poor quality construction, or the mechanism for removing the glass panes for cleaning is too cumbersome (e.g., the entire storm must be removed in order to remove the glass pane, which is dangerous on the 2nd and 3rd floors). Sy's custom-built windows have a wooden surround (with condensation drainage channels to prohibit wood rot) to match the exterior of our 1900 Tudor Revival home. However, the mechanical component is a very sturdy aluminum combination set-up - i.e., screen in the lower panel, plus removable glass 'sashes' in both upper and lower panes. Sy's product met all of our requirements, and he and his team were wonderful to work with. From start to finish, the job took 3-4 weeks (10-12 with other companies - and we would have had to measure, paint and install).

Sy came when he said he would. Called before he came. Brought a sample window and storm window. Explained exactly what would be done and how much it would cost. The workers were very fast and efficient. Sy came back and checked their work himself. Even my perfectionist spouse was satisfied with this work! They even painted the attic window trim while they were up there on the tall ladder which would have been difficult for us to complete.

SY IS VERY RESPONSIVE AND RELIABLE. WE HAVE HIRED HIM IN THE PAST AND WILL CONTINUE TO IN THE FUTURE, BUT THIS WAS NOT HIS BEST WORK. HE DID AN ADEQUATE JOB, BUT THE WOOD SELECTION WAS NOT GREAT, AND THERE ARE MANY SMALL NAIL HOLES.

WE HAVE HIRED SY SEVERAL TIMES OVER SEVERAL YEARS AND ALWAYS FOUND HIS WORK TO BE GOOD. HE IS VERY RELIABLE AND RESPONSIVE.

SY WAS PUNCTUAL, TIMELY, FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT, JUST EXCELLENT SERVICE OVERALL. WINDOWS LOOK GREAT, WE PLAN TO HAVE HIM REPLACE MORE NEXT SUMMER. WHILE HIS WINDOWS ARE NOT INEXPENSIVE, THEY ARE OF GOOD QUALITY AND FAIRLY INNOVATIVE (IT'S HARD TO FIND FUNCTIONAL STORM WINDOWS THAT LOOK GOOD ON AN OLD HOUSE), AND HIS SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING. WE WILL DEFINITELY HIRE HIM AGAIN.
