They were excellent. Great service. Great product. There were some complications with installation that were our fault, not Sy's. It took them extra hours, but they were more concerned with the quality of their work, and made the needed changes without an extra charge. Very honorable and trustworthy company.

Excellent work and quality that exceeded my expectations. They did custom storms for our 3-season porch -- meticulous work getting all the angles right and lining things up! They also did custom screens for our 100+ year old house. Two separate projects. Absolutely gorgeous. Price was as bid. Showed up when scheduled. Left everything clean and neat. Easy to connect with and get information. Super fabulous!! Would hire them again if needed.

Everything about working with SP Windows was great. The initial estimate was spot on. In the fall I ordered windows for my entire house: around 45 windows! The installation was done the following summer after the house was painted. The windows are so great you can hardly tell we have storm windows. They fit into the architecture of this 1905 home so perfectly they seem to be part of the house. Amazing improvement to the exterior of the house and to the interior also because all our sashes line up now with the sashes on the custom windows. Fixed windows no longer have any pointless sashes blocking the views. We are really pleased.

SP Carpentry was professional in all aspects of the job: got the quote, they scheduled it, did what they would, kept me apprised of any things they needed or changes in the schedule, and delivered a beautiful brand new wooden storm door. They are the best!

My cute little Mpls home had the original windows from 1905. Something had to be done, but I didn't want to pay thousands for all new custom windows, or ruin the exterior look with some ugly metal frames. SP Windows installed new, energy efficient storms that look exactly the same as my old ones, and weather proofed everything. They were expert, responsive, on time and efficient, at a much lower cost than for full replacement. My home is snug and warm, and I am a very happy customer!

SP Carpentry is I think the best I have worked with. They have done a number of projects for our home and I would not go to anyone else. Great crew. Sy is wonderful - confident to have him work on any project.

This is the second time SP windows has worked on our home and we are extremely happy with their work. They went above and beyond expectations - for example, they painted the wood and cleaned the glass on the storm windows before putting them back on - saving us the hassle of also hiring painters and cleaning the windows ourselves. Very nice people to work with. Reasonable pricing and high quality work - they are the best!

Sy and his SP Custom crew where once again fantastic. This is the third time I have hire SP Custom to do work at my house and each experience has been great. Very responsive (same day) to get quote. Most logistics (appointment invite for quote, actual quote, appointment invite for work day, invoicing) done online now (new since last time I used SP Custom) and worked super. But telephone always answered as well. Work is top quality. Crew cleaned up area when done. Crew again went extra mile when unexpected run in with wasp nest occurred. They went and bought spray, eliminated nest and completed the window trim job. Time before it was squirrel with nest after crewed hole in roof over hang. I love these guys!

We had a great experience with Sy and his crew. The brick molding and outer sills were rotting on most of the windows installed in the MAC soundproofing effort of the late '90s. The windows themselves are still in fine shape and we hoped for a solution that did not require removal of the whole windows. SP Carpentry did all the work from the outside--removing only the storms, They cut away the outer sills and removed the rotted brick molding. Fitted in new sills seamlessly and installed solid wood brick molding--painted to match our existing trim. The crew was friendly, efficient, and expert and cleaned up the site well. The work took about 1.5 days (crew of 5).

We were considering replacing the original windows on our 1904 home because many of the opening mechanisms didn't work and switching between storms and screens required dangerous ladder work. Fortunately we discovered Sy and the team at SP Carpentry. They rebuilt 25 antique windows for smooth opening, tighter seams, and new locks where needed. Best of all, they installed their replacement storm windows that have integrated screens hidden to keep the original look on the exterior of the house. No more ladder adventures! We saved many thousands of dollars versus new windows and avoided scrapping the finely crafted originals. SP showed a sensitivity to our historic home that we didn't see in other window contractors - even using antique rippled glass to replace a cracked pane. The crew was very polite, project management and cleanup was excellent.

It went according to plan, one day they took the windows out and recondition them, the next day they put the windows back it. The windows came out fantastic, the guys cleaned up well, the price was very reasonable. They did everything necessary windows work better now than they did when they were new, thanks to their patented window reconditioning process.

SP Carpentry replaced all of my windows and storms several years back. Being a bad homeowner, I didn't read the care instructions regarding keeping them clean and 3 of the storms started getting some rot. Si and team came out and repaired each of the damanged storms and provided a cleaning tutorial at no-charge. Thanks for the customer service!

SP did a wonderful job with our house. They made over twenty 1905 Windows work like they were new and added tight fitting storms to make them efficient. They also custom built two new wood windows to match our existing ones. I have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so.

SP Custom Carpentry and Windows did a truly exceptional job, from the initial review of my job and producing an fair (though not cheap) estimate, showing me the options he could offer me and providing his recommendation; building a really fantastic product that works and looks great, making my porch much more beautiful and functional; and doing an efficient and high-quality job of installing the windows. Sy also did a great job following up on a minor problem (fixing one window that was catching) promptly and with impeccable customer service. I really couldn't be happier.

They were fantastic! I have floor to ceiling windows on the north side of my 1955 contemporary house. The window sills, trim, a storm door and 1 large crank out window had a lot of rot since they are damp so much of the year. I had been searching for someone to fix them instead of trying to sell me smaller vinyl replacements. I was thrilled when Sy came and said yes, they could fix everything! His crew did a beautiful job. They are true craftsman. They replaced all of the rotting wood around 2 large windows, built a new crank out window and storm door and primed and painted everything. I am thrilled with the quality of their work and I highly reccommend them!

Sy and his team do top quality work. They removed and rebuilt a large casement window using the original hardware. They built a new storm door. They removed and replaced a lot of rot on 2 large floor to ceiling windows. The finished work looks fantastic. The craftsmanship is beautiful, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly, highly recommend SP Windows!

Sy was punctual and did the work for the price bid. The team prepainted and installed wood to replace rotting exterior window frames. His team completed our fairly extensive job in a single day and left the premises completely clean. It looks great, and the windows appear to be sound again.

The basement windows now look like new - the job was done perfectly.

I have used him a couple of times. He is knowledgeable, knows how to fix windows, fair and honest, and is prompt. He is really good at fixing wood windows.

Have you ever gotten compliments on your storm windows? We have! Sy's patented product is a wood frame with modern "innards" that allow you to slide the storm windows and screens up and down. They are removable for cleaning. Not only do the storm windows look great, but they also improve the energy efficiency of the house. Sy's storm windows over our original double-hung windows really do the old architecture justice. Plus he's great to work with and stands by his product. Be sure to get a thorough understanding of how to clean the four drainage holes (there are two drilled into the bottom of the screen frame and two on the bottom of the wood frame). Those holes need to be cleaned periodically with a pipe cleaner.

Horrible. What a waste of time. Totally unprofessional company. I made the appointment over the phone, told the woman what I needed done and all went swimmingly. She set up the appt. for the next day, so I took my morning off to be at the house. Ten minutes before Sy is supposed to show up to my house, he calls me asking what I need done cause he's "driving 45 minutes from Burnsville" and it "may not be worth his coming over to Stillwater" even though I don't even live in Stillwater, and I'd given my exact address to the woman over the phone 18 hours prior. Oh, and "each sash replacement is $500," he tells me – without even seeing a single window or bothering to show up. Very clear he just didn't want to take on the work. What a joke.

.It all went like clockwork. I can't say enough good things about Sy and his crew. They are used to working on older homes so there were no surprises.They worked fast and efficiently. The house looks fantastic. Lastly, they all seem to be fine gentlemen that you are happy to have around your home.

Overall the work went very smoothly and seems to be high quality. Our only concern was that one of the workers behaved a bit unprofessionally. This was dealt with promptly by Cy, the owner, but, of course, shouldn't have happened at all.

I can't say enough great things about Sy and SP Custom Carpentry! They were our heroes when it came to restoring the original windows in our 1939 home. We purchased the home knowing there was severe wood rot around the windows that needed to be taken care of. We thought the windows were probably original to the home, and were interested in repairing them rather than replacing them. I called and emailed several other companies that specialize in window restoration, and they all told me without seeing the windows that it would probably just be better to replace the windows. Then along came Sy! He was very responsive to my call and set up a time the next day to come over and look at the windows. He was very quickly able to assess that all we needed was to replace the rotten wood surrounding 9 windows, and install new storm windows on 11 windows. Additionally, we chose to have 2 windows fully reconditioned with new jamb liners and sashes. We were very impressed with Sy's knowledge and experience and his "can do" attitude. The team had all the work completed in 2 days and were polite, hardworking, and meticulous with their clean up. The aluminum combination storm windows are fantastic, and we were extremely pleased with the end result! After finishing with the windows, we realized we were in need of replacing the wooden screens for a screened porch. Not knowing where to start with having custom screens made, I checked with Sy who once again came to the rescue. He quickly came out to measure the screens, and had several ideas for how the screens should be made to avoid problems in the future. In the end they made and installed 7 custom old style wood screens. The porch has never looked better!
