Description of Work: I brought my Stiffel lamp in for repair. Most of the lights have not worked for years. The Lamp Mender staff were helpful and told me they were likely to repair it, but not all parts are being made since the Company stopped making the Stiffel Lamps in the early 1970's. They said I would hear from them by the end of this week, and they did leave a message on my phone today saying it was fixed. I picked it up tonight, and I'm thrilled that it works perfectly!! I would recommend them to anyone!! They are so knowledgeable about their craft!! It was a wonderful experience--a rare find!!

Description of Work: They switched out the vintage wiring on my lamp and gave it new wiring. I walked in and they were able to fix it within 15 minutes. Great place, quick service!

Description of Work: I brought in a pair of lamps to get rewired. They did an excellent job. I was expecting to pick up the lamps in a week. They had them done the next day. I was just surprised by the cost. $42 dollars for labor just seemed a little steep. The people were friendly and helpful.

Description of Work: Installed replacement halogen light dimmer switch. Completed next day. Unfortunately, the new switch has a lower watt rating. That was not revealed until after the fact.

Description of Work: My favorite lamp blew out several sets of bulbs. I thought the switch or cord needed to be replaced. It turned out that the bulbs were the problem. When the lovely ladies put their new bulbs into the sockets the lamp lit up and no repairs were needed. They told me about faulty bulbs coming out of factories and also bronze tips on their bulbs. They didn't charge me a cent but I did purchase some of their better quality bulbs. I would absolutely take my lamp problems to them next time and highly recommend them.

Description of Work: We had a lamp that the light kept flickering on and off. We changed the buld several times but finally decided to take it to the ladies at Lamp Menders. We had found them thru Angies List before and used them. I walked in and explained the situation and they knew exactly the problem - Certain brands of Light bulbs melt the lead around the bottom where it screws into the socket. When the light get warm enough it looses contact. When it cools - gets the contact back. They showed me where the bulbs had literally scorched the socket where the bulb screws into. I asked them to replace the socket and if possible would like to pick up the next day. Two hours later they called and said it was ready to pick up. What I like about the ladies at Lamp Menders is they are honest, straight forward, timely in their work and professional. I have always recommended them and will continue to do so By the way - Westinghoouse Bulbs do NOT melt at the base

Description of Work: Repaired a broken switch in a wall lamp. This is just the most recent time we have used this company, from purchase of shades, specialty bulbs, and finials to having an old brass floor lamp entirely re-plated. They have also advised us when not to have work done on older lamps because it is not practical or is very costly compared to the value of the lamp.

Description of Work: I brought in two floor lamps, back to back. Both had fallen over and were broken where the light bulbs go. Lamp Mender repaired both very quickly (within a couple of days) and were very reasonable. This is a small shop and the service was very personable, professional and efficient. Excellent service and repair work!
