I love this shop. They are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I was very impressed with their huge stock of lamp shades and finials. And they really go the extra mile trying to find shades that "work" with your lamp bases. I needed a couple of repairs and they handled them while I browsed. I also learned something about socket safety and bulbs that work well to preserve those sockets. I now have 2 really good looking lamps in working order. And it was an enjoyable, no pressure experience. The women that own and run the Lamp Mender know what they are doing and they do it well.

This went very well. These lamps work (having been rewired) and they look great. The crystal was cleaned, metal parts replaced and new shades added. The lamps have a new, more modern look. I love them!

We brought in an Italian lamp with 10 separate lights that needed to be completely rewired from top to bottom along with replacing the floor switch. They completed the job in less than a week for a reasonable price. We would definately use them again.

We had a couple of multi-bulb ceiling light fixtures, that were failing. On one fixture, only 2 of the 4 lights worked. The other fixture, 3 of the 4 lights worked. I brought the fixtures to The Lamp Mender to have them repair the faulty sockets. Upon pulling one of the fixtures out of the bag and showing it to the gal at the shop, she knew exactly what was needed. She stepped into the back room and returned with a new replacement 4 socket set and showed me how easy it was to replace them. For less than $20.00, I had my replacement parts and was on my way back home !!! I fully expected and was ready to leave my fixtures at the shop for a couple weeks while they evaluated and repaired them, while paying much more for the job. They are very knowledgeable, honest and helpful, which is rare these days. I have another much larger kitchen chandelier that has some faulty sockets as well. I will be bringing that in to The Lamp Mender too. Awesome fast and friendly service. Thank you ! !

VERY satisfied. They could have told me it was a larger problem and charged me a lot more and I wouldn't have known the difference. Instead they did a quick/inexpensive fix and it's still working more than a year later.

I brought in 2 lamps that belonged to my grandmother. One had a switch for a 3-way bulb, and I wanted just a simple on/off switch. The other had a short, so it wouldn't stay turned on. The time estimate given for replacing the sockets/switches was a few days, but they actually got both done later on the same day. That's the basic story. Here's the rest. The service at Lamp Mender is wonderful! The owners are knowledgeable, friendly, and focused on satisfying customers. It's also fun just to look around the store at the incredible selection of lamps, shades, and accessories. And if they don't have what you need, they have the connections to get it.

ompletI brought a bag of parts from a repair I had started, but could not complete. Showed them a similar lamp as they are a set. They quickly did the desired work and the price was right!

We have a chandelier where 1 light didn't work. After a few moments she stated that if we just used bulbs with longer stems it would fix the melted plastic that was blocking part of the connection. No cost for diagnosing the problem!

The ladies were able to twist the socket for the bathroom light while I was there - got to take it home right away. They explained why the bottom bulbs were blowing on my dining room fixture - overheating with too high of heat bulb. The lamp needed a new socket and had no other issues. I dropped these items off on a Wednesday,. They called the next day to say they were ready! They also gave me information on better bulbs to use in the fixtures. Lower heat values - who knew?

We needed these lamps within a week to ship in a container and they had them ready on time. They were able to suggest shades for the lamps, since we were not sure what kind of shade to purchase for the table lamp. They have an excellent variety of shades and any thing else needed to repair lamps. Would use them again in the future.

The ladies explained that I was using a light bulb that was too hot for the lamp, so it was melting something in the socket. I don't know all the technical stuff, but she was able to repair it while I waited. I also learned a lot about light bulbs including the best brands to buy. It was great that I didn't have to come back to pick it up. It was a special pottery lamp that I bought at the Renaissance Festival so I was very happy that it could be fixed. I would highly recommend them.

Representative was very knowledgable and polite. Had suggestions on what I could do with my lamps if I did not wish to the them rewired. She obviously wasn't just out to make a buck. Impressive in today's marketplace.

Service was very prompt. My lamp was ready in just a couple of days. Staff checked out the lamp thoroughly and made suggestions. I was happy with the service and will use them again.

They found one that they thought would fit and I took it down to my parents' apartment to see if it would fit their antique brass lamp. It was 1/4 inch too small. I took it back and the lamp menders found an antique globe that did fit perfectly.

I had purchased a nice desk lamp, brand new, and love the way it fits into my decor. However, a strange thing had been happening: when I had my iPod or iPhone charging on my computer, if I were to turn on or off the lamp at the same time, I'd get shocked pretty severely! Turns out there was a fray in the wire inside the lamp, and these folks fixed it within a day or two.

They knew exactly what was wrong with my lamp within minutes of Looking at it. The switch they had looks better than the original which was an expensive designer brand. I will always bring my lamps here. Highly recommend.

Brought in two lamps on an early Friday morning. The staff greeted me a few minutes after I arrived. Clearly a long term family business. Pleasant. No electronic tracking of drop offs. Everything hand written, but they manage with their processes. The clerk told me it would be 2-3 days before the repair would be complete. To my surprise, they called that afternoon and both repairs were finished. How great is that. Quick and efficient. Now the cost of the repairs was more than the actual retail price I paid for both lamps combined, but I am happy to have current matching bedside lamps. I will go back. I liked the people there and the prompt service. And the fact it was a woman doing the repairs! :)

The little plastic screw that turns on one of my white bedroom lamps would not catch. It just turned round and round, but would not turn on the lamp. I brought the lamp into Lamp Mender this morning. The lady at the desk thought the little plastic screw was stripped. She said the old screws used to have metal in them, but the new ones do not. The screw gets hot, the plastic melts and the screw gets stripped. She pulled another screw out of a bin, put it on the lamp, plugged in the lamp and turned it on. It worked. For payment, I was asked to put a quarter in a glass jar! This is a marvelous store. I took a look around and saw a vintage looking light fixture similar to one I had in my kitchen a number of years ago and loved. Unfortunately, it got a short in it and I ended up replacing it with something I never really liked. The ladies said they could have fixed it. If I had only known! The vintage-looking fixture was on sale at a good price, but unfortunately my money is allocated to other things right now. Sigh. This was an excellent experience and I'll definitely use Lamp Menders again.

My lamp switch had to be "tickled" to stay on and would go off for no reason. They told me the switch was old and needed to be changed out. Normal wear and tear. They switched it out on the spot, while I waited, approximately 5 minutes. Awesome! Nice folks! Decent price.
