This group was punctual, polite, and did a great overal job on my sprinkler repair and addition. They also completed my project UNDER budget! Thank you Mr. Rain! I am glad to say I have finally found a reliable partner to work with on my Sprinker projects.

Couldn't reach the company that put it my sprinkler. Mr. Rain has an operator always available, they went out of their way to fix my system promptly. Ended up coming on a Sunday, then charged a very low fee. Thank you!

I called them and left a message in regards to getting my sprinkler running for the spring. They called me back right away and scheduled them to come out in 1.5 weeks. I am not worried about leaving them a message as they always call back. I've only worked with Shane and he has always been punctual within 30 minutes of scheduled time. We have a pump that goes into the lake and it stopped working last fall. When he came out last fall he said "well, I could fix it now and then winterize your system but we might as well just winterize it and have me fix it in spring so then you're good to go for spring/summer." That's the best part of using Mr. Rain Irrigation, they won't oversell you on stuff you don't need. Shane looked at everything. He recommended that we shorten the length of pipe we have going into the lake as it was unnecessarily long, replaced 3 sprinkler heads and a nozzle to water valve. He told me that NEXT year I should get a new Filter. He told me the price of one but said my filter should be fine this year. Again, not overselling. They charge $75/hour. competitive to others. FINAL THOUGHTS: If you want a company that will show up, do the job and one that you can TRUST won't rip you off I would recommend Mr. Rain. I'll continue to use them.

They always show up when they say they will show up. They are always polite and efficient. We are always happy with their service.

My experience turned sour last night when I noticed that our scheduled services had not been completed. I called Mr Rains customer service number and left them a voicemail inquiring as to why our service was not performed. I received a voicemail this morning that due to a compressor issue Mr Rain was unable to service our lawn and that they would be unable to return until Friday Nov 2. If anyone is familiar with the current weather reports its obviously going to be well below freezing over the next week and next Friday is completely unacceptable (hence the reason as to why I called the first week in October to plan ahead). I called this evening to voice my displeasure and while the woman who answered the phone seemed to understand my frustration, she did absolutely nothing to work to appease a long-standing customer other than to say "we're sorry". The most frustrating portion of the conversation was her informing me that all other homes in the area had been serviced and ours was the only one not to be completed. I asked repeatedly (and informed her many times of my long-standing with the company) that I would appreciate it if they could service my home this week considering I had a reservation, but was told this would not be possible. After informing the woman that I found this to be a bit of BS I was hung up on! After calling back and leaving a voicemail expressing my displeasure at being hung up on I turned to Mike, who I assume to be the owner. I called him this evening, informed him of the situation and was told that I would be called back after he had an opportunity to call the women who hung up on me and learned more about the situation. He, of course, didn't return my call as promised. Again, I've had positive experiences in the past with this company, but the service I received was completely unacceptable. To hang up and not return a call to a long-standing customer is not a trademark of a company who prides itself on "exceptional customer service". Especially one who, while understanding of the situation of the broken compressor, was simply wanting to have their service completed relatively close to (within a day or two) of the scheduled date. If you're not able to meet your commitments and have a contingency plan to service your customers when things go wrong, you simply shouldn't be in business. I would say that if everything goes as planned and the company doesn't have equipment issues they are a good company to deal with. If there having issues however, don't expect your experience to be a positive one. You've been warned.

It was excellent. Luke was the nice gentlemen who came here answered all my questions and the lawn looks great. I was very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

I'm thrilled with our new irrigation system. Mike and Sharrell were both absolutely wonderful during the entire process, from coming out for an estimate through completion. The team of guys they had do the install, and the plumber they used to run a new pipe.....all of them phenomonal. Very professional, very skilled, and very patient with all of our questions. Shane went through the entire set up with us on the control box and again, very patient with our questions, explained everything thoroughly. We're VERY VERY please with Mr. Rain, AND our new irrigation system! I also loved that they are local! I'd recommend Mr. Rain to anyone!

Mr. Rain did excellent work, was quick to respond with a quote and even quicker to come out and perform the service, and was extremely affordable. We would definitely use them in the future.

Our neighbor was able to fix the problem. I called Cheryl to cancel service. She thanked me for calling to cancel. I would use them in the future if necessary.

Mr. Rain's representative was on time. He explained my sprinkler system to me because I recently moved in to the house and I've never had one before. He took a lot of time and walked me through the controls. I will use Mr. Rain again.

They were on time and handled a very unusual situation with our plumbing very quickly, and did a great job. Also the price was right considering the situation.

We first contacted Mr. Rain earlier in the spring and he was very repsonsive. He came out and took a look at our yard and gave us an estimate that broke everything down. He and my husband walked the yard and he discussed how many heads we'd need. Mike really coudn't have been nicer, and the estimate was lower than we were expecting. We did not seek another estimate based on other reports on Angie's List and the experience we had with Mike right away. We had another lawn project that needed to be completed before we could have the sprinklers installed. Once we were ready, I contacted the office and I spoke to a very nice lady (I can't remember her name) to schedule our appointment. We had our system installed a week later. Mr. Rain took care of everything. They contacted Gopher, and the plumber. We didn't have to do anything but wait for it to be installed. The crew was very prompt and professional and VERY little damage was done to our yard during the install process. We absolutely love the system that was installed and all of the bells and whistles that came with it (rain sensor, zones, timer, etc). The crew did a great job of making sure each sprinkler head hits an optimal amount of lawn. We are very pleased with our experience!

The service person did an excellent job. He arrived on time. I showed him the broken sprinkler heads and he replaced them all and even found other heads which were leaking and needed repair. He checked out my zone controller (which had been malfunctioning) and determined it was broken and replaced it. He located a zone box which was buried under sod so I never knew where it was before. He explained to me how my system worked and how to program my controller. He also showed me how to reset the spray distance on my sprinkler head if I wanted to do that. He was very professional and courteous. The bill was as quoted to me over the phone. I am very pleased with the service I received.

Mike Nagle came out in Oct. '09 to give an estimate. He was patient with the many questions we had and took time to explain how things would be set up, what we needed to have done in terms of plumbing (e.g. needed to hire a Minneapolis plumber to install a back flow preventer and ball valve as his company could not per a City odinance), where the controller could be located, and--at my request--showed me exactly how the sprinkler heads worked. We scheduled the work in June 2010. At that time, Mike was great about refreshing our memory of what needed to be done and answering additional questions. Sharrell, who handles scheduling and calls, was friendly and extremely responsive. On the day of the install, Mike and the crew--Luke, Shane and Tyler--all showed up to get started. They were all hard-working and friendly. The install took two and a half-days due to lots of hand digging and barriers on the lot. After the install, Luke did a walk through, explaining in detail how the controller worked, and then turning the water on in each zone so that we could check the coverage. He was quick and friendly about adjusting spray heads that I thought needed it and added three sprinklers to areas that I thought needed better coverage. He also told me they'd come back and add/change/adjust things if we found areas that weren't covered or things that weren't working as we had hoped. I called three weeks later. Luke came back and adjusted several sprinkler heads and added four more that we thought needed to be added--all of this at no extra charge. This is why I gave them an "A" on price. Though it was higher than some estimates we received from other companies, the responsive customer service, including adding additional sprinklers at no charge later, was well worth the higher cost. Mr. Rain kept their word that we would be 100% satisfied when the job was done.

Everything went fine. They came when they said they would and finished on time. All the members of the crew working at my home were always polite and professional. I was very pleased with their work and would highly recommend Mr. Rain Irrigation to others.

We recently moved into a new house and needed someone to open up the sprinkler system in spring and explain how to operate it. We called Mr. Rain and scheduled a weekend appointment (Saturday). When Saturday arrived, I called to confirm the time and was told they had a schedule mistake and had not booked our appointment. I was very frustrated. HOWEVER, upon hearing the extra steps my wife and I had taken to make the appointment work (2 small children), the owner of the company personally made the service call. He was very professional, informative, and spent time not only testing the system but walking me through the operation and adjustments it would require. Even though he was not planning on making the appointment, he never rushed or made me feel rushed. Scheduling issues can happen, but in this case how they handled it made we want to keep doing business with them. I will definetely keep using Mr. Rain for ongoing maintenance and upkeep of our system.

When I called Mr. Rain, I had the pleasure of making all arrangements with his wife Sheryl. She was very professional, friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. We set up a visit and estimate for three days later when I would be home. He came at the exact time promised and brought samples of materials he uses. Mike spent almost two hours explaining the entire business and process, walking around outside to get a sense of what I needed, laying out a plan and a bid. He is an amazing guy. He is the the type of guy you would want to sit down and have a beer with. I had no questions by the time we agreed to go ahead with the project. GET THIS! He refused to accept any money until the job was complete! He said if I wasn't satisfied when he was finished, that he would keep on doing whatever was necessary to make sure I was happy. Then I could pay. He contacted all the utilities to get the lawn marked, pulled the permit and got his plumber out to install the complex valve system. His 3 man crew of experienced installers (he uses no subs) showed up exactly when scheduled. They did a fabulous job and got everything done in one day. Mike stopped by on a few occasions to check how things were going. When they finished, Shane, the head guy on the crew, ran me through the complete operation of the system and how to operate the control panel. I must have asked a dozen, what I thought were pretty dumb questions, but Shane was very patient and made sure I understood everything. We tested each zone, and tweaked the run times and area of coverage until I was happy. it was a pretty windy day, so Mike came out the next day and made sure everything was as it should be. I asked for another fixed spray head in an awkward area to reach, and it was done before I came home from work the next day. Mike and Sheryl have called a couple of times to make sure I was satisfied. Mr. rain knocked a $150.00 off the quote because it turned out I didn't need as many spray heads as quoted. My next door neighbor asked me about the job and if I was happy. Now he is having Mr. Rain install a system for his lawn. Both of us got a quote from another highly rated company on Angie's list. The guy was about $400.00 higher, and I would have to pull my own permits. The owner was very nice and quite competitive, but Mr. Rain operates his business the way everyone always wishes contractors would operate. He is the Ace of irrigation systems and a heck of a nice guy. You have to check this guy out if you are thinking about getting a lawn irrigation system.

Requested bid on March 30th for sprinkler system. Was told they could stop out the following week. Its April 13th and I still havent heard anything from them?

The owner came to our home, reviewed our lawn, assessed our needs, explained what he would do and why and provided a quote. We felt his experience and quality of products were preferable to some other vendors even though he wasn't the least expensive. The work was done on the day we arranged, while we were on vacation. When we returned the lawn looked more distressed from the trenching than we expected. We called and the owner came and he came to our home, reviewed the work, described the poor soil conditions and poor grass base, but personally worked on our lawn to address many of our concerns. He came back later that day to spred more grass seed in the sparce and distressed areas. He said he expected that we would see marked improvement within the month. The lawn did improve throughtout the summer. He felt he was very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process.

I got 5 different bids. His bid matched with the other lowest bid. He has been in the business for a long time and was very knowledgeable. He did a great job and came out pretty quickly to take care of some adjustments. I was very pleased and would use them in future.

Had used Mr Rain for 3 years. Called in Sept 2008 to report sprinkler system didn't work. Owner arrived, checked, and noted the problem but decided to winterize system rather than fix - said system should be repaired in the spring (had to manually blow out the system due to the problem). He requested to be paid in cash; I requested a receipt and he scribbled "paid 75" on a blank sheet of paper and initialed. In May 2009, I called Mr Rain to fix the sprinkler system, since now it would not turn on at all. The company had NO RECORD of the fall 2008 winterization or my cash payment - was told by the office that they didn't keep track of cash payments. Agreed to send someone out to repair, but insisted I had not had them blow out the system the past fall - I sent them a copy of the receipt I had been given in the fall. They started the sprinkler system, did a quick repair - a week later the system still did not work - they came out again, still insisting they had no record of a problem - tried to repair again, but system still did not work. At that point, I hired a different lawn irrigation firm and within 2 hours the system was working and has been perfect ever since. RECENT CONTACT BY THIS COMPANY MOTIVATED ME TO FILE THIS REPORT. In October 2009, after 5 months with another Lawn Irrigation company and no contact with Mr. Rain, they arrived to "winterize my system." The same tech/owner who winterized it the past fall was back and very upset I had not called the company to "unschedule" the winterization. I told him I no longer used Mr. Rain because of its inability to repair my sprinkler system and its policy of using cash payments and not recording them. He was angry and said he had wasted a whole day with my husband in May trying to fix my system. When he left, I called the office and was told they still had no record of any fall service or payment and "Even though my sprinkler system couldn't be repaired by Mr. Rain - after all I only paid for 'a stinking fuse' on the second repair visit." I ended the conversation, very aware that each of the Mr. Rain employees I had contact with were defensive and aggressive. Continued conversation and contact would not have been productive. Be careful with this company - they can do routine maintenance, but are incapable of diagnosing and repairing many common sprinkler problems - and their cash policies are unusual.

Great job, good people to work with that kept me informed of how the scheduled work was going to proceed.

They really outdid themselves. Just a marvelous job. Very flexible with us. I added a whole zone on the day of the installation, and they took it in stride--just added $150 or so to the bill. They cleaned up well afterward, and within a couple weeks you could hardly tell they'd been here. Great job. Got more than I paid for!
