Mr. Rain was hired to replace our existing sprinkler system that was installed improperly. Shane was very helpful with his quote and designed a new system with about 3 x more heads. His crew showed up on time on the scheduled date and installed the new system over 1 1/2 days. It was pouring rain on the second day and some of the heads weren't quite hitting a few plants. Shane came back and tweaked the heads and also added a few. He wants to get it right. The new system has a rain sensor and can also schedule even / odd days. Our old system didn't have those features and they are very handy. The crew replaced the sod and was very careful of the utility lines.

These guys are my irrigation guys. I have them out every year to winterize and they have always done a great job at a reasonable price. I have yet to have to do any other work but when I do I will be calling water wizard.

I am a first time homeowner and purchased a new construction home, so I've had much to learn and I am someone with LOTS of questions. Mr. Rain answered all my questions and reviewed the system with me more than once.

The only reason I am not giving an excellent rating all the way around is that we made an appointment for a dertain day between 11 and 1...and got a call a couple of minutes before 1 with an apology. No real explanation as to why we were ignored. Service people just can't seem to understand how enraging this is, and it happens frequently. We were "fit in" to their schedule the next day.

I have used them for a number of years for my irrigation start-up and blow-out and repairs and they are always prompt and professional.

Full lawn irrigation system Installation: Both Shane and Luke came out and led the installation. We moved into a new home and they made sure to coordinate with us to ensure the irrigation system was installed prior to the sod company coming out to install the lawn. They showed me where everything was going to be located and cleaned everything up afterwards. Shane took the time to thoroughly explain how to use the system from the main controller in the garage and also showed me how to adjust the heads. When they were done, I was absolutely comfortable using the system. They are normal, hard working guys that do their work at great prices. I have recommended them to friends and neighbors. So glad to have been lucky enough to find them on Angie's List!

Summer 2014: Though intended for Rain Man Irrigation, this recommendation applies; to three companies that did excellent work for us but, especially for each other, in coordinating competing projects: Andy Pietig Concrete, Plehal Blacktop and Rain-Man Irrigation. The job was very complex to install an asphalt driveway with paver-borders that needed underlying piping for irrigation plus cable and phone conduits. We are on a circle, which makes 'water access' under driveway edges, curves or bends confound any irrigation design. I?d planned to personally instal 1000 pavers but then, I was struck ill and limited to ?doing nothing? for about 3 weeks and had to call Andy Pietig Concrete, that had done excellent concrete and paver work for us about 2 years ago, installing a paver patio + concrete pad. Andy (who was extremely busy at the time) worked us into his schedule and coordinated with Plehal Blacktop regarding the interlocking sequence for installing pavers and blacktop and then later cutting a ?paver? gap to separate a new asphalt driveway extension. Plehall did the excavation and Class V fill, which Andy?s guys then shaved to 'paver-height' for sand-fill plus snap-edge on inner and outer faces. Under all of this came the Irrigation Plan with access for water-piping. Special mention goes to Andrew, Andy?s Team Leader, an extremely conscientious expert, whose detail work, experience and artistic eye showed in all the paver areas. He returned more that once to finish or touch up details. Repeatedly dodging weather, Andy was able to coordinate the next steps with Plehal and Rain Man. So, in a difficult period, when we really needed help, to get a long-planned job finally done, Plehal was extremely patient with our plans and delays and Pietig stepped up politely and frequently to get everything accomplished. IRRIGATION: Merged into all of this was the IRRIGATION PROJECT that required burying PVC pipe deep under the fill base, Again, the layout was mine and everyone's execution was better. Excellent Irrigation work was accomplished by Luke, Shane, et.al. from Rain Man Irrigation. They were at least as responsive, thorough and cooperative as Plehal and Pietig. Since ours is a 3-Level, triangular lot on a circle, their quite varied layout and clever design had to irrigate a dozen problematic, narrow, triangular or sloping-wedge areas with several types of sprinklers. They worked smoothly around a very congested ?work area? and came back several times, after the pavers and sod were finished, to adjust sprinkler locations and head-heights. Since I've personally done (less professional) Irrigation work and have my own air compressor etc., Rain Man was especially good at outlining (for those who care) the more subtle details of irrigation opening, closing and adjustment and how to view and handle seasonal priorities as well as the plus and minuses of my 'self-help' motives. I'm never a fool about such things and will use their services more often than my own. But their advice greatly helps me tweak the system and avoid needless service calls. Thus, I also believe they could nicely handle any level of customer knowledge, interest or capability. We had long considered, planned and designed last year?s work and, to finally have this all done, with this high level of service and finished quality, we could not have chosen three companies better equipped, skilled and managed! Shane is very knowledgeable and gave us suggestions to cover both the lawn and the surrounding plants. His crew completed the project in half a day. He stayed around to make sure I was comfortable with the installation. I would recommend Shane and his crew. Thanks Job well done

We had a leak from the pipes on the exterior of the house where the pipe comes from inside the house (and also up from the ground). The leak was causing so much water to seep into the ground it was coming into the basement through the concrete block walls. It should be noted that I have never used Mr. Rain Irrigation before this incident. Yesterday, in a panic (because my current irrigation company was not available -- and also had not winterized our system), I called Mr. Rain Irrigation based on reviews in Angie's List. Caroline was extremely responsive and understanding, and indicated she would contact the owner(s) but could not guarantee they would be able to call back the same day (this was late in the afternoon yesterday). However, Luke did call me back within 30 minutes and arranged to meet me today at noon. He arrived promptly and looked over the exterior and interior. He was able to heat the exterior pipe coming up from the ground, which thawed the water frozen in the pipe. He then was able to diagnose the remainder of the leak as a problem with the valve on the inside of the house that shuts off the water to the exterior. He only charged for a service call and referred me to a plumber as well. Their customer service is extraordinary, and I will be transferring my business to Mr. Rain Irrigation next spring.

Mr. Rain has provided winterization of my sprinkler system for the past two years. Each appointment has been outstanding. I've had no challenges scheduling appointments with their helpful office staff. Each year they have arrived at exactly the time promised. Their work as been efficient and professional each time. I'll definitely look to Mr. Rain for all of my irrigation needs.

Work is scheduled for 7/24 and 25. I was pretty impressed. They were prompt. They took the time to explain the many products and options out there. When we had questions about some of the more technological areas they were able to explain it. They're bonded and insured. They're certified for Hunter products, and that's kind of important and often contractors sell so many products that they're not well versed in any one product. Hunter products is number one in residential irrigation products. They installed the sprinkler system according to the estimate and really did a great job. This sprinkler system really works great and has improved the condition and health of our lawn. It makes it so convenient and efficient that I wish I would have done this sooner. The crew was very professional and took the time to make sure that my husband and I were trained on how to set the controls. The difference between this company and others is the types of heads used for small areas like the boulevard so that the home owner is not wasting water yet accomplishing maintaining a healthy lawn. As I see other lawn sprinkler systems, I see the wrong type of heads used and the result is water being wasted and sections are totally missed. I highly recommend this company.

The Mr. Rain team was GREAT all the way around to work with. They were punctual, clean, and had very reasonable prices. I have been looking for a solid sprinkler system partner for years, and have found it in Mr. Rain. I would recommend them to anyone!

Only used the system three or four times after the repair because of winter, but everything seemed to work well.

This past summer, my husband and I bought a home that has a sprinkler system. I didn't realize until quite a bit later that it was a do-it-yourself system. (Orbit is the brand.) As it turns out, many sprinkler companies won't work on nonauthorized systems (i.e., systems that weren't installed by professionals), so I had a difficult time finding anyone who would come out to winterize. I finally found two companies that said they'd work on any kind of system (Mr. Rain Irrigation was one of them). I had originally scheduled an appointment with the other company but cancelled with them to schedule with Mr. Rain Irrigation as they were a bit less expensive. When I scheduled the appointment, I explained that one of the pipes was punctured when we put our fence in, and the woman scheduling said that their regular service guys wouldn't be able to handle that situation so she'd need to reschedule my appointment for a time when the owner of the company could come out. I said that would be fine. So we rescheduled from Monday, November 4, to Thursday, November 7 (arrival window 3 to 5). Well, Thursday rolls around, and my husband takes off work early to be home from 3 to 5. He calls me at 5 and says no one ever came. Needless to say, I was not pleased! I tried calling the office, but they were gone for the day, so all I could do was leave a message. Early the next morning, I got a call from Mr. Rain Irrigation apologizing for the confusion and explaining that they had already come out on Monday (the date of my original appointment). This didn't make me feel much better because I had wanted my husband or myself to be home when they came to explain everything to us. Also, I thought it odd that they had come and that they didn't leave any kind of documentation saying that they had been there. And it was odd that they told us we HAD to be home for the appointment, so when we weren't there when they came on Monday, doesn't it seem like they would have called? Mr. Rain Irrigation was very responsive to all of my issues and concerns. They couldn't have been more apologetic or concerned with making things right. They offered to not charge me for the visit (major bonus points!) and to send out one of the owners (per the original plan) to make sure that the first technician had done everything correctly. The owner did end up coming out the following Monday and ran through the winterization one more time (while my husband was at home). Just this week I received the invoice officially confirming I would not be charged for either winterization visit. Despite the snafu with the scheduling, I am very pleased with how they handled the situation and the quality of the service. We'll definitely use them again.

Shane is awesome. He had to visit several times to tend to some heads and a water line that had been disturbed during landscaping work. The reason there was no cost to us is that the landscaper took care of it. This is a horrible time of the year for irrigation professionals to be called to do emergency work. Autumn blowouts monopolize their days for many weeks. Shane managed to fit us in three times on short notice and worked like crazy to get the damaged section back up and running. We're so impressed with his diligent work, friendly disposition and professional manner that we'll most likely hire Mr. Rain for future irrigation system work.

Right from the start, I was comfortable dealing with them. We priced out other services and they were competitive. They called one month ahead to schedule the install. Approximately one week from the start date, they notified me that Gopher One would be out to flag the lawn for buried services. The also scheduled the plumber to do all the inside plumbing work. The plumber showed up right on time, was courteous and knowledgeable. The irrigation install went smoothly. I was told it would take a day to a day and a half - it took a full day. Even though it was a little later, the Supervisor stayed around to make sure this "technology challenged" homeowner understood how to work the system. They took great pride in their work and I am very happy with the entire experience.
