They called back quickly and came in at the scheduled time to do an estimate. Their price is high compare to another company, so we did not hire them, but certainly would consider them for other jobs in the future.

We needed the lawn mowed in somewhat of an emergency as our lawn mower was in for repairs that were taking a long time and the grass was quickly getting extremely long. I contacted Handy & Sons via e-mail and received a prompt reply followed by an estimate within a couple of days. The lawn was mowed a couple after that. The job was very well done. We have a deep double lot in the Highland Park neighborhood of St. Paul. The grass was very long, but the results were very even and everything was nicely trimmed and cleaned up. Jim was very pleasant and professional. I would definitely hire this company again.

Jim and his sons were, as always, very professional. This is the third time I have had them do work for me (I had them move a sofa between offices and also had them to the house to put on a garage door seal and to remove a tree). They are very careful to clean up, very polite, and diligent. I wholeheartedly recommend them. Jim always goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He does a great job for a fair price.

It was just a 10-minute kind of job. I contacted them and they said that they would come out and do the work within a couple of days. They came and did it while I was gone. The work was fine. I would use them in the future, if necessary.

They arrived as scheduled & began work immediately. There were 2 of them (Father & Son) & they really knew what they were doing. They were here 2 hours as explained to me in their bid and did an excellent & professional job.

I have been consistently pleased with the service I have received. Jim & company do good work. On numerous occasions I contacted Jim by e-mail and he is always prompt in getting back to me. I really appreciate companies that use e-mail as it is so convenient. My overall impression of Jim is that he and his company are honest and hardworking. I will definitely continue to use them & recommend them to others.

The work went well. As usual, Jim and his son were prompt, on time, and helpful. We have used them in the past for various handyman-type of work: to move heavy things in and out of the house, assemble heavy basement cabinets, and to do tree trimming. The tree triming and other moves occurred before we joined Angie's list, but I wanted to make special note of them because it was Jim's good work and professionalism that made us turn to him immediately for our latest handyman need. The price noted above was just for the most recent work. The prior work on the trees and other moves I do not recall in exact amounts (I just did not take up the time to look at the receipts before writing this) but I do remember that we thought the price was competitive for what we needed done!

We had missed doing a fall leaf clean-up, so this spring was really needed. Jim and his team scheduled our spring clean-up about two weeks out. Their work was excellent--they got the leaves out of our bushes and hedges, cleaned out our three small garden areas, and even hauled away a pile of fallen branches that had accumulated all through last summer's storms. I have now hired them for weekly mowing. I'm very happy we found them through Angie's List.

We will keep looking on Angie's list.

They are flexible and ready to process our request even if it is something they usually don't do like watering our lawn when it is dry. They didn't remove the lawn waste from my yard but I am not aware if that is mentioned in agreement or not. So I didn't follow up on that and the price they charge is not cheap. They charge one price for mowing and a separate one for watering.

Outstanding work. I could not be more pleased with their work. The price is very, very competitive, the work is thorough, the crew was on time and cheerful! I highly recommend Handy & Sons.

Jim and his team removed some overgrown brush and small trees from my yard. They scheduled and carried out the work promptly. They did a thorough job, were careful not to disturb other things in the yard and cleaned up after the job. I was very satisfied with the service.

I was very satisfied with the mowing they did for me. However, I wasn't overly impressed with the leaf removal. I would have rather paid another $20 and had ALL the leaves picked up. Instead there are still leaves along the fence, in the bushes and next to the house. I will continue to use them to mow however I may look for someone else to do the leaves next fall.

We are extremely pleased. From start to finish, Jim has been very professional, communicates well, arrives on time, leaves a clean work place, and performed the job beautifully. We are so happy with the work he and his family did.

Great! Jim was very responsive (we communicated several times via email). He and Marc arrived right on-time. They took good care of my things, and were nice, friendly, polite and no smoking, which was great (I didn't want my items to smell like smoke). The job was a little more complicated than I had anticipated (the sofa was difficult to get through various doors), but Jim and Marc were really pleasant about it. I gave them a little extra on top of the $100 quote because of the trouble, but they didn't ask for more, and they didn't complain or get stressed. I was very happy with their price and their service and would gladly use them again and recommend them to others. In fact, I'm going to go look at the other categories they are listed in so that I can use them again!

The project went very well. Jim was very good with communication by e-mail and by telephone. I knew what to expect at each phase of the project. They took extra steps to acquire needed material at sale prices, completed the work as promised, and cleaned-up well. In general, I felt they treated my yard as they would their own.

I was very disappointed that when I contacted this company to have some yard work done. After three days of trying to connect with them by phone they told me they couldn't help me for about 5 weeks as they are too busy.

This is the second time we've used Handy and Sons. Window hardware replacement went well. Believe they had a little trouble with their lawn edger, and that work was not as satisfactory as it was the first time.

Handy and Sons came to my rescue after another yard service let me down with poor work and a non-professional response. They've been to our home three times now to mow/trim and have done an EXCELLENT job! Both front and back look great, they kept the grass length a bit longer due to conditions as requested and we couldn't be more pleased. Jim's replies to any initial questions via e-mail were answered promptly. We look forward to working with them on future landscaping/home projects and consider ourselves lucky to have found Handy and Sons.

I couldn't be happier; we had some miscommunication initially but that was due to email problems on my end, once that was fixed I found Jim to be very responsive. He communicated all portions of the job clearly to me which made it very easy to know what to expect; he and his sons arrived exactly when they said they would, completed the job in the time frame he had projected, and cleaned up the area better than I could ever have expected. Not only will I hire Handy and Sons again for yard work, but I have already arranged for some handyman work I need done. I'm very happy to have found Handy and Sons.

Jim was very responsive. I did all my communicating with e-mail. He was very prompt with his replies. Initially he couldn't fit me in his schedule in the time frame I was looking for, but he contacted me after about a week and said he could fit me in if I was still interested. He gave me a bid for my very large lot (lots of leaves to clean up) and it seemed very cheap. Well, he gave me a bid that included labor for just 2 people, but he came with both sons and got the job done sooner, but he still only charged me his quote. When I questioned him, he said he doesn't change his bid once it's in. Wow. Also, these guys busted their chops in getting the job done, not like the landscaping people I was watching taking care of my neighbors yards! I did have to deal with little details in the yard, but 98 percent of my work was done for me!

Jim and his crew do a very good job. Jim always returns my calls promptly and fits me into the schedule whenever he can. I'm pleased to have found Handy and Sons on Angie's List.

I contacted Jim and he promptly returned my call and indicated that he would stop out and provide an estimate. He gave me a price quote of $130 (which I considered to be fair) that I accepted. He told me he would be out the week of May 19 to do the work, and completed the work last Friday, May 23. He called two days in advance of performing the work to let me know he would be out, and also called upon completion of the work. He did an excellent job edging as well as cleaning up after the work. In summary, he was reasonably priced, communicated well, completed the work by the date indicated, and performed the work in a professional manner. I will be contacting Jim again for other projects we need done at our home.
