The overall experience exceeded my expectations. Handy and Sons provided a timely (and most competitive quote). I was only going to do a fall clean-up but when Jim arrived I showed him the bushes I was thinking about cutting down. He gave me a price for each part of the job (fall clean up and a price per bush) and a price to do the whole thing in one visit. He gave me options and no pressure to commit. What I appreciated most is his excellent communication confirming when he could be at my home to do the job. I wish more services would communicate as well and show up when they say just like Handy and Sons did. I will be hiring them again for future work.

After trading several phone calls, I spoke with Jim, explaining what I wanted done. He said that he would look at the amount of work and give me a bid, which he did within a day ($100 plus tax). We agreed on a time for the work to be done, but because of the first snowfall, I called to reschedule for a day after the snow had melted. They came on the day that we rescheduled. They usually remove the leaves from the property, taking them to a compost site, but I asked for the leaves to be taken to the rear of the property to provide compost for the native plantings there. They also moved several bags of leaves that had been raked earlier, as I requested. They did an excellent job, completely cleaning up the entire front yard and driveway. I was very impressed with the quality of their work, especially since they were asked to follow a different procedure.

Everything went very well! Communication by e-mail was clear and efficient. When Jim and his sons came, they were professional, thorough, and efficient. They even mowed our lawn for us! Everything was completed very well, and I was impressed by how thorough and fast they were. It wasn't necessary for me for them to be fast, but it was an added bonus, especially compared to how much time it would have taken me to do it myself. They had the manpower and equipment; they made it so easy! Jim even offered to bring black soil to replace the holes that were left by uprooting plants, which I appreciated his initiative and help with that. I thought it was a very good value for the cost, given how much time it would have taken me to do the same work as well as compared to a previous person we had used, who cost more and didn't do as thorough of a job either. I used up a lot of my free time last summer doing yardwork, and I didn't want to repeat the loss of time again this year. I will definitely be calling them again. This was a very good experience and would highly recommend them.

I was very impressed and I was extremely pleased. They came out and sent somebody out to do a quote. I got the quote two days later in the mail which I consider very prompt. Then we had a question with scheduling and I had put a note on the quote as I said I was traveling on business and I had got this in the mail right before I left and since it was all outdoor work I was kind of hoping they could do it while I was gone. When I returned I had a phone call on my machine basically saying we are booked solid until after you get back but we'll give you a call as soon as we can get you on the schedule and they did that. They turned up on time and they took care of everything really remarkably quickly. I was amazed at how fast I had a different company some years back do something similar and these guys were much faster and everything was cleared out. I was very happy with the work they did. They were roughly half the price and they did a much better job than the people I had in five years ago.

We found this serve on Angie's list. We had a site visit and estimate within one day of calling. Service began the following week. Day and time were set and followed reliably. All went very smoothly.

Over all it was great. No surprises.

My experience with them was excellent and they did good work. They were on time and they were efficient. They had to go and buy the cranks and they did that just fine. Their prices were very reasonable. My husband thought that the price was fine but I don't remember the exact cost. They were a good and reliable company. They did what they said that they were going to do for a reasonable price.

I broke my wrist and was unable to take care of my lawn. I phoned Handy & Sons and they were very prompt in returning my call, unlike some others that I phoned who never called back. They were able to get me on their schedule for that same week and have been mowing every week since. They do a great job on the lawn and the clean-up of all of the sidewalks and driveway. I would definitely recommend using their services!

The mower they used left tracks of brown grass in several locations.

We contacted Jim and he came out the during the following week and took a look at the project. We were not home during his visit (which turned out to be just fine). He mailed us an estimate that was about half of what we had received from another Angie's List business owner. Everything we wanted was specifically addressed in the estimate. We called and set-up a time for the project to start and the work was completed once the dates were finalized. They did a really great job of causing little disruption to our yard as a whole. They completed the project on time and did exactly what we wanted and expected them to do. We had a really great experience.

They were very responsive unlike other companies that rejected a one-time job. Now that I know they do there things as well, I will probably use them again. A good resource for an out-of-town landlord.

Handy and Sons are doing the weekly mowing of our yard for the second season now. They have done a quality job, been responsive, and charged a fair price. I would not hesitate to recommend them or hire them next season.

Found and emailed Handy & Sons on Angie's list, received a prompt reply from Jim and scheduled the mow that same week. Handy & Sons did an excellent job with the work and invoiced us for the service. The lawn looked fantastic when they were done! I will definitely use Handy & Sons again when I have lawn mowing needs. :)

We were very happy with their work. They did a great job and we were impressed with how they cleaned up the mulch pile in the driveway.

Called them and they made the appointment for the same day. Took care of the work with a friendly crew.

It went well, in a few minutes we had the cabinet moved and no damage and it was great!

I should just have Jim and his sons on retainer! I had a bunch of small projects - patching a crack in our addition foundation, patching a crack in our garage foundation, repairing popped siding on our garage, and putting up shelving in my closet in the house. Then I called Jim up and added to the project to address the trim around the garage door, which meant he had to get materials and come and deal with the trim, in the sudden cold snap. As always, Jim's answer is always "yes" and he is great to work with. It is so nice to have someone reliable who can do so many "handy" things!

Called Jim and left a message describing the work, got a call the next day and set up a day and time for him to look at the yard. He came by when he said he would, (called first which is nice), and gave me an estimate of $100.00. I thought this was very reasonable as there was alot of digging in a rocky area, which I had tried to do myself and gave up on. We set a date, he came on time and he and his son did the work very efficiently. When it came to taking out the tree I appreciated that they just didn't cut it down, they tried to get the roots out by digging all around it, attatching a chain to the trunk and pulling it out with their truck. I also managed to find more things for them to dig out all over the yard which they did willingly. When they were finished Jim was still going to charge the original $100.00 even with the extra work, I was so pleased with the job and good service I thought they deserved $150.00.

The heavy snow storm several weeks ago broke mutliple limbs on my maple tree. Jim and his son cut down those that I couldn't reach myself.

Jim and his sons moved furniture for me as part of a project to have my carpet restretched. (Another vendor did the actual restretching work.) Because I didn't have anywhere to store all the furniture that had to be moved out of the way for the carpet work, Jim's crew moved the furniture from room to room as the carpet work was being done. The furniture included a console piano, a heavy television, and a very large entertainment center. Reassembling the entertainment center and getting the TV hooked up again was not an easy task, but they did it. When they were done all my furniture was back in place, with no damage to anything. When not needed to move something, Jim and his sons did some handyman projects for me. They included moving my mailbox post from one side of the driveway to the other side, and building multiple shelves for me in the garage.

Jim was extremely responsive and did an outstanding job; it was much better than I even had hoped for. Every little thing was cleared up and it looked pristine. I am so happy to finally be able to use my driveway again! He was prompt in returning my email and in completing the work, and the price was extremely resonable.

Do not hesitate to call Jim, his service is outstanding. I called Jim based on positive comments I read of him on Angie's list, and while my expecations were high, he greatly exceeded them. Jim and his son moved all of the heavy office furniture/freezer out of the basement, carefully placed it in the garage, and even paid a lot of attention that my locks and keys matched up for my Craigs list sale (I didn't even think to ask him to do this, he did this on his own). They did an outstanding job of cleaning out the crawl space and trimming the hedges out front, and we talked about future things he might be able to help me with. He volunteered to take a few things out of my trash pile to dispose of himself, because he thought I might have trouble getting rid of them otherwise. His rates are very reasonable, and he even talked me out of some things I was considering having him do, telling me it wouldn't be worth my spending money on. This was a very positive experience, I am glad to have Jim and his son on my "go to" list of people to get things done in the future.

Jim came over to give us a quote and was able to complete the work within just a couple weeks of that initial appointment. We don't have a large car, so he agreed to pick up the bushes that I picked out. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I love our new front yard.

They were really very good but I didn't have anything done. They were very helpful and took their time. They explained how they would do the work and answered my questions. They were very friendly and I could not complain. They gave me an estimate by email. It is a father and son duo and they were very professional. Their estimate was very clear.

Performed work as expected. Billed us later, everything completed to our satisfaction.
