 + -1 moreIt went good. I do not know how much it would have cost without the deal. I think that the inspection should be free, so I guess I paid $150 for tarring. It might have been a little high, I do not know. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Roofs R Us did a roof inspection and video taped the roof. They showed me the spots that needed possible repairs. He did tar something that needed to be re-tarred.

He came to our house, measured our roof and explained his product and process to us. His bid very competitive, one of the very lowest. His crew came out the following week and did the job quickly. They cleaned up very well - we haven't found ANY debris from the project! We would definitely use the company's services again.

 + -1 moreAfter Matt saw my previous review here, he got in touch with me and apologized for missing my contact request due to a change being made by his service provider. Even though the Big Deal I had missed was over, he still honored that price. I took him up on it and am happy with the results. My new gutters look great, and both Matt and his installation crew were easy to work with once we got past the early glitch. Just a warning to anyone who calls Roof R Us though -- it may take up to 8+ rings before voicemail picks up.

 + -1 moreWe had roof leaks in March 2011 and 2013. The shingles and installation were 21 years old. We signed up for a roof inspection from Roofs R Us that was offered on Angie's List. Matt, who did the inspection, was courteous, punctual and professional. After inspecting the roof he explained the wear and defects to my wife, and also sent me a video by email to me at work with him showing and narrating numerous weakness in the roof shingles, vents, and flashing. He said we could wait a year to replace the shingles, but they were worn out. We decided to install new shingles and roofing immediately. Matt came to our house a few days later and made a clear presentation of our options for shingles and shingle design. We set up a date for the job in early May 2013. The entire job took one day from 7:30 AM until after 8 PM. Matt was there in the morning and then later for the last hour or so. He came back the next day to go over what was done, and then two days later Matt came for the final payment after everything was cleaned up and explained. Before starting, the workers put plastic tarp over all plantings, our waterlily pond, arbor, and other structures near the house. All the shingles and other debris were carried and dropped into the dumpster by the garage in the driveway. Almost nothing was left on the ground around the house. Matt was reliable in every way and is an excellent businessman to work with.
Description of Work: Roofs R Us removed the shingles from our roof and installed new shingles. They also replaced the underlying material, and the roof vents with a more effective roof line vent and made sure all the flashing and roof valleys were sealed and intact.

 + -1 moreWe were first contacted by the owner to do an initial estimate and got a quote which was the final price. We set up the time on Monday May 13 but they called us on Friday before weekend and told us that they can come to fix the gutter on Saturday if that was ok and it worked perfect with our schedule. they got done our gutter in about 2.5 hours since ours was a new roof with no previous gutter. They did an excellent job and we are so happy to get a new gutter in our new house.
Description of Work: The owner was very prompt and quick in response and very professional young man. We got the job done very quickly and efficiently. We are very happy with their service and would definitely recommend them to our friends and family in the future.

 + -1 moreMatt showed up at precisely 8:00 am in the morning, on time and ready to go at our agreed-upon appointment time. He was very punctual, courteous and professional. I had called him a few times to reschedule in the prior weeks due to the late snow. I was concerned about safety and told him it is best to put it off until things thaw out. As mentioned above, the appointment time was relatively brief and he gave a very thorough explanation of the issues with our roof and what his company can do to help. Things went well until we had the consultation and I was quoted for a ridge vent. First, for those who don't know what this is, a ridge vent is a ventilation tool that you install on the ridge of the roof of your house where the two angled portions of your roof meet. It allows air, specifically hot air, to circulate through vents in the overhang of your house through the roof and escape through a vent that runs the length of your house. We were quoted to $1000 to have a ridge vent installed on the roof. I contacted some other roofers to get quotes and most were in the $600-$800 range. I contacted Matt later to see if he could lower the quote as it seemed really high. He said he couldn't. No exceptions. Go find someone else. But, I was offered to use my $149 paid towards the Angies List deal, bringing the quote down to about $850. I wouldn't consider myself a mathematician or anything, but pretty sure I'm still paying $1000 in that scenario. He told me that I can contact someone else to look for a better price. So I did. And I did. I contacted Angie's List also about this, but got no response. I will never buy another Angie's List "Big Deal" again. These are a scam. UPDATE (5/19/13): First big rainstorm today. Water is leaking in the front of the house through the ceiling. It's in a new spot, and I was told that the roof is in "...great shape..." during the consultation, aside from the unrepaired leak and the need for a ridge vent. I thought the service covered all leaks. Not happy.
Description of Work: Matt Dlouhy arrived and performed an inspection on these points which lasted about 45 minutes in total, including a 15-minute consultation. During the time that he was on our roof, I assume that he checked everything that was included on this list. One of the things that I liked about the service is that he video recorded his walk through of the roof with his iPhone or iPad and taped it while giving a narrative of the inspection. I think that this is a really cool idea, since most people hire a roofer due to fear of heights and don't want to go on the roof. The only complaint about this is that the video is very brief and only seems to show the issues. I would have liked to see the other inspection points above, and it would be nice to have the option to get the video via e-mail for reference. I had told Matt before his arrival that there were two noticeable leaks in our roof, as we had water leaking in the main floor at the front and rear of the house. He identified the source of the leaks and explained where they are located and what needs to be done to repair them during the consultation. Matt told me during the consultation that the first leak spot could be caulked with a clear caulking solution immediately and would likely resolve one of the leak problems, but that it would probably need to be evaluated and possibly resealed within 2-3 years as rain would degrade the seal and cause it to wear out. This was frustrating to hear but not Matt's fault, assuming that a high-quality seal that is manufactured by a reputable company and serves its purpose is used. The second leak, which was located near the flashing by a jutted window in our attic, was unable to be repaired. The reason given was that the clear caulking solution would not match well with the color of the exterior siding of our home, and that it would not be able to be painted over, if we were to choose to paint our home. It was a bit frustrating because I had hoped to have all sealing repairs done with the $149 commitment made through the Angie's List deal, and it would have been nice to know in advance that not all sealing repairs can be done even though the deal covers sealing repairs, since we still have an exposed spot on our roof.

 + -1 moreI bought a Roof Maintenance Package for $149 and what I got was a sales pitch for a new roof. No patching or repairs were done because "they were not needed." I could have had any roofer give me an estimate for FREE. This guy didn't even include the garage in his inspection or quote. Did he think we would replace the roof on the house and forget the garage? I asked about two issues the exterminator gave estimates to repair last week. Matt told me he would address them but he only said we simply need a new roof. At the end of his sales talk he asked me one of those annoyingly tell tale salesman questions, "Is there any reason you wouldn't use our company..." I responded, "No" because I just wanted to get him out of my house before I lost my temper. I'm going to contact the exterminators and have them fix the problem areas. This outfit is all about selling their name brand product and franchised services. He must have thought, "Oooh new first time home buyers..." Sorry bub, I've been around the block a few times and I'm not buying it.
Description of Work: Matt came and inspected our roof. Then he came inside and proceeded to give us "the bad news" and give us a sales pitch for a new roof. That's all. He didn't do anything to warrant my paying for the Maintenance Package. I wasted $149.

Description of Work: Called a few companies to look at roof. Many were just looking for complete roof replacement. This company was willing to give an estimate and repair my roof. Very honest, straighforward, and felt like he knew what he was doing and didn't do any more than was requested. The roof was fixed and has not leaked(it's been awhile since it was fixed). Very professional, well priced and dependable. I will be calling them for complete roof when it is needed. Highly recommend them.

So my second-hand assessment is, they showed up on time, were polite and professional, fixed flashing and a few loose bits on the roof, provided a written assessment of additional maintenance that could be done, and talked about the line of shingles that they carry--but very low pressure. My husband was very pleased. We will certainly call them when we are re-roofing the house.

I believe there was someone here until about 7:30PM the second night, but they finished as promised and on time. The owner made sure we were satisfied before final payment was collected. Very pleased with the work.
Description of Work: New roof installed- shingles, vents, flashing. Also had them install gutters around the whole house with downspouts, All work done to code. Couldn't have been happier with the service. So glad we chose them, completely hassle free, owner is a strait shooter and seems a nice guy.

 + -1 moreThe repair crew came over and repaired and replaced a large portion of the front roofing and installed a vertical vent. 3 men worked for about 5 hours. After the repairs were done they did a great job cleaning up. Matt had taken pictures that showed exactly what was done. All and all I have to say that Roofs R Us did a fantastic job. I would sure call on them again.

He was also great to work with for color combinations, he had a very good eye for what matched our brick which was not easy to match up.
