The team was great to work with. They were professional, prompt, and explained every step. They worked directly with the insurance company to make the process very smooth. The day of the job, the team arrived promptly and worked professionally all through the day. They cleaned up the work area clean. The project leader provided updates throughout the day and had a final walk through after completion. I am very happy with Roofs R US and would recommend them to anyone needing their roof completed.

Roofs R Us work crews and subcontractors did a great job. The roofing team tore out and replaced the roof in one day, including adding ridge venting. The subcontractor for the gutters has been very responsive and easy to work with. In particular, we were impressed by the fascia/soffit installation. Juan did all of our soffits/fascia. His work product is excellent and he worked quickly to complete the project.

Due to our unpredictable MN weather, we had to reschedule our roof installation 4 times, but Matt (Project Manager) was very quick to call and reschedule us each time. The crew arrived on time on the day of installation, and worked for almost 13 hours straight. The only criticism I have is that the crew didn't do a thorough job at cleaning up after they left. There were a few construction scraps in our neighbor's yard and I also found a few nails left over in our yard, but besides that they were pleasant to work with.
Description of Work: We had a roof leak and the roof salesman that came out told us the flashing was installed incorrectly and that their crew would be able to correct the issue.

We are in the process of bidding out a re-roofing job on a low-pitch roof. Read about the company and was impressed with all the positive reviews. Reed came out to give an estimate, told him clearly what our timeframe was. And then waited for the estimate. And waited. After five days, I had to call to see where they were on the process. Finally, got a call back three days later. Was told another estimator needed to come out to look at the job. Set up another appointment with Matt. Stayed home to for Matt to come bid the job. He called exactly 12 minutes before the appointment to decline the job. This could have been handled 10 days ago, and wasn't. Has delayed our project.

The sales guy was good, and the work was good. I have a few complaints, though:1. The crew showed up and started working, without anyone introducing themselves to me, or telling me they were starting. I found out later that Matt was out with pneumonia that day. OK, I understand people get sick, but somebody else should have communicated with me. 2. One member of the crew had a glass beverage bottle, which fell and broke into many pieces; he did not clean it up very well; I had to re-sweep my driveway and patio. 3. Even though I left a gate open for the crew to haul old shingles out of the back yard, they removed a larger gate, and walked through my rain garden, stepping on perennial flowers, to haul old shingles out of the yard. 4. When the crew was done, they didn't tell me they were done, they just left. So, I went up on the roof, and spent 1/2 hour picking nails out of the gutters. Later, someone from Roofs R Us stopped by to do a post-job inspection, and would have cleaned the nails out of the gutters, had I not done it. But nobody had bothered to tell me that he was coming!5. The roofers would pull the cellophane strips off the new shingles, then just drop them, to blow around in the wind, rather than putting them in their pockets, or a weighted bag. I sent the next several weeks picking up cellophane strips in my neighbors' yards and the alley.

I was thoroughly pleased with every aspect of the roofing project. No, I am not getting paid to post this review. From the first phone call to get a quote, to having Reed come out and bid the job, to color consultation, to work schedule and finally the install, the job couldn't have been smoother or more professional. I was told the dumpster would arrive around 7:45am and it was delivered exactly at that time. The guys that did the work were awesome. I think they got out of the van with tools in hand ready to start the job the minute their feet hit the pavement. I LOVE the outcome.

Punctual. Was a little disappointed that May 26th roof installation date was cancelled, Was told due to rain forecast however rain prediction percentage was much lower to none as oppose to the next installation date of June 12th. As a matter of fact, it actually rained June 12th for a few minutes . Not happy with the workers cooler picnic and wrestling on front lawn. Overall these concerns were small when compared to the actual job completion and workmanship. Matt and Moises were professional and addressed my concerns. I am satisfied with the work and will give a rating or 4.5-4.8 Thanks Meryl in B'Park

This review has been in the queue for some time now because the matter was being litigated but due to the hail storm on June 11, 2017, I believe I owe it to the Angie's List community to post this now. Conciliation court records are public and I am comfortable providing information in a case that I prevailed in. Ratings Explanations: The project was completed on time, so I will give them an A for punctuality. Concerning the actual work, visually, it looks fine. However, an Xcel serviceman detected carbon monoxide readings in the basement and commented that it may have something to do with the chimney or roof. Since this company installed vents on the roof, I will need to have this checked out before I can comment on the workmanship. Thus, an N/A rating at this point. Responsiveness gets a D because communication became unproductive as soon as problems arose. When reading existing reviews, be aware that Roofs R Us pays its customers up to $200 for customer reviews on Angie's List, Facebook and other sites, so don't put too much stock in anything you read. Most people will jump at the chance to pocket an easy $200 and sing the praises of a company that may otherwise not deserve the kudos. That said, the best possible advice I can give to anyone thinking about using this company is to make sure that you get your work appraisal first and then talk to your insurance agent separately. Why? Because Roofs R Us will NOT use any additional insurance proceeds to upgrade materials on your behalf. While it is illegal to bury the deductible, meaning your deductible must be paid over and above the money allotted for the repairs, it is perfectly legal and acceptable to use excess insurance proceeds to improve on the original materials used. My insurance company overpaid and there was plenty left over to upgrade my shingles and gutters without charging me more on the side. Honest contractors will work with a customer to apply extra proceeds to upgrade shingles, gutters, etc. and Roofs R Us refused to do this for me. This was my first experience with an insurance claim and I trusted owner Matt Dlouhy to protect me. I have since learned that an insurance adjuster is not your enemy. Go to your agent first. Then start negotiating with your contractor, not the other way around. I believe many people get taken advantage of in these situations. The only reason I caught it is because I asked for an estimate on a similar property and it was thousands of dollars less. In fact, the roof on the second property was larger. When I realized what had happened, I called my insurer to ask why they paid so much on the roof when the work could be completed for less. He said that Allstate pays very generously on roof replacements and it is a set price. He also stated that excess proceeds may be used to improve the quality of the materials. It is only illegal to downgrade materials. Despite what Matt told me, there isn't anything that forbids a contractor from upgrading a 25-year shingle to a 40-year shingle, if the money is there to use, which it was. I also could have had my gutters upgraded to the leaf guard system without incurring an out of pocket cost. The insurance agent also stated that anything above and beyond the insurance claim and deductible was indeed negotiable. Since Matt was already overpaid, the decent thing to do would have been to waive the charges for the soffit and fascia work and apply the extra money to my out of pocket expenses for upgrades. It would not have been fraud whatsoever. The agent also said that it is rare that a customer actually catches on to this scenario so please use my new-found knowledge to protect yourself. Roofs R Us ended up being paid around $11K from insurance to do work that was actually only worth about $7K - and I still had to take out a loan for over $5K to do upgrades. The entire project cost over $15K for a basic, no frills roof. To add to the fun, Roofs R Us used a vendor with a poor rating to provide the dumpster that was needed to haul away the old roofing materials. The driver parked much too close to an existing chain link fence, destroying a large portion of it. Whether the dumpster was dropped on the fence, or the fence was pulled out by the dumpster when it was removed, I do not know. Matt tried to blame the mishap on the gate not being shut, but if the gate was to blame, it is only because one of his workers didn't shut it. The dumpster was parked so close, we couldn't even get near the gate. I had the Devil's own time trying to get that fence replaced. When I told Matt that he would not be paid until my fence was repaired, and that I would be hiring my own contractor from Angie's List, he hurriedly sent someone over the same day to repair the fence without my knowledge or permission while I was at work. I had no opportunity to communicate with the person that did the work, and there was no signed agreement between us whatsoever. The end result is unacceptable. The fence appears to have been pieced together using ill-fitting parts that were likely left over from other jobs. Photos are attached. Matt acted like he was doing me a favor by repairing the property that his vendor damaged and he treated me very rudely, even though none of this was my fault. It will cost me well over $2K to have the fence repaired correctly and I have been at war with this company ever since trying to get them to do the right thing, even to the point of being dragged into conciliation court where I WON the suit on my counterclaim, representing MYSELF. I withheld approximately $2K to insure the work would be done correctly, paying Matt the entire insurance claim amount, plus $3K on top of that. Matt sued me for over $6K based on "attorney fees and interest" that I had never agreed to pay in the event of litigation. The judge ruled in my favor and did not award anything to Roofs R Us. Instead of accepting the judge's ruling as fair, Roofs R Us is now appealing the case to district court in an attempt to further harass me and force me to spend money on a claim that still amounts to approximately $2K (not counting the $4K they tried to tack on to the claim for interest and attorney's fees the first time around). There is so much more to this scenario than I can even begin to describe, so I will simply say this. I heartily encourage you to avoid this company unless you do your homework first. Do not let them talk to your adjuster because if the insurance company is generous with the claim and pays more than the estimate, you won't see a dime of it, and you will not be able to apply any upgrades without paying out of pocket. Get the insurance appraisal out of the way and then compare it to your contractor’s estimate. Matt’s prices are competitive but if your piece of mind is worth anything, you should keep on looking. If you decide to use their services, demand copies of all contracts that are fully executed (i.e. both signatures). Matt is trying to hold me to terms in a contract that I did not even sign, so watch out. Keep your copies, save your emails, be diligent. You never know when you will need them. I would recommend this practice anyway, just to be safe. I will further update this review at the appropriate time. Until then, Buyer Beware. Matt is a smooth talker, very charismatic and he makes you feel like you are his best friend...until you figure him out. He becomes very combative and he (or his attorney) will respond with offers of fair settlement with threatening phone messages, letters and legal action that will advance to the next level if he loses. In my opinion, their ethics are questionable. His attorney even went so far as to apply a mechanic's lien against my property for more than the amount owed and after the 120-day deadline had passed to file (meaning the date construction ended was pushed ahead on paper so that the lien appeared to be timely filed). So, now I have to pay to get an invalid mechanic’s lien removed. The interesting thing is that, if I have the documents to prove when construction ended, I would assume that Matt does too. So, you can draw your own conclusions here. This has definitely been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. If you are looking to do business with a company that WON'T cheat you and that WILL admit when they make a mistake, then keep looking. This isn't the company with whom you want to do business.
Description of Work: Replaced roof with 25 year shingles on a 3-bedroom, single level rambler, installed vents for circulation, replaced damaged gutters with upgraded leaf guard system on home, replaced fascia and sofitt. Same work was completed on detached two-car garage with exception of the vents. Please read the review below as it contains vital information that you should read before deciding to hire this company. I am unable to separate the paragraphs, so your patience is requested. Thank you.

ROofs R Us is a highly efficient, professional organization. Reed gave me clear information during the estimate process, completely explained what would happen during construction, and Matt and Moses communicated constantly as the roof was installed. They were on time, my yard and landscaping was protected and unharmed, and the roof is beautiful. No home owner likes to recognize the fact that a roof needs replacing. I had planned on replacing my roof this year and along came a windstorm leaving shingles scattered over my yard and my neighbors. My first concern was to get the roof replaced and , most importantly, shored up until the complete replacement could occur. The team at Roofs R Us did a splendid job: Courteous, professional and efficient could best summarize the treatment I got from Reed, my sales rep, and Matt, the PM for the project. When a contractor delivers on time, on budget and efficiently (my 3 story house was done in one day) they deserve kudos for the job.
