Roofs R US

We loved Roofs R US! They gave a wonderful and professional presentation about their company prior to us hiring them which is what made us pick them. Their prices were right on par with what we expected to pay for a new roof. Everything went as discussed on the day of the replacement. They did a great job and we were very pleased with them! I would say the only dislike we had was minor and it just took longer than expected which meant clean-up seemed to be rushed. We have two large trees by our front door that we ended up having to clean up ourselves the next day. There was a lot of roof debris (old shingles, orange plastic rings, pink packaging paper, etc.) left in the trees that they should have seen. (It was almost dark so maybe it was just missed.) However, the roofers were very professional and we have gotten a lot of compliments on how great the new roof looks. We would highly recommend them and use them again if we need to.

Matt, the owner was very professional and is also very responsive via email and phone. What impressed me was he took his time to go over the roof project with me. We looked at 4 other companies, including Roofs R Us and that is what sold us. He offered the best price for the quality. The work was completed in one day as expected. We are very happy with the completed work. The only issue was that the old gutters were not remove the day the new gutters were replaced, but Matt took care of that right away. I would absoultely go with Roofs R Us again in the future!

Came on time , protected landscaping, worked hard all day and completed the roof the first day. They restored our landscaping as promised by Matt, installed a new very nice skylight and new vents and valleys per our contract. Lots of tar paper and ice shield as well. Next day their gutter crew came and out up new gutters with a nice cap system. And now all we can say is bring it on old man winter! Would use them again with no hesitation!

Matt came out to provide an estimate and give an overview of the process. The estimate was $300 more than our first estimate, but we felt more comfortable with the process described by Matt, as well as the reviews we had read about Matt's company. Originally, we were scheduled about one and a half weeks from the day we had the estimate. We found out about four days before that day that the shingles were back-ordered. Thankfully, Matt was able to schedule us for the Saturday after the originally scheduled date, as we were starting to have an issue with our roof. The roofing crew was great! It was enjoyable watching how well they work together. The site manager stopped by a few times to see how things were going and told us to call if we had any issues. The total job took about seven hours, and they did a fabulous job with the clean-up. We've only found a few nails in the landscaping rock and a few under the dumpster. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family.

I had five companies out provide estimates for replacing the roof and gutters. Matt impressed with the things he talked about for the job. I talked to Matt a week later and we had him back out to look at adding the siding repair. The morning of the first day it was very rainy so the crew got a later start. Matt and I talked and I knew with the rain there was a good chance of the job taking an extra day. The crew got there and were friendly and hard working. They did a good job of protecting my landscaping. I had a few concerns and question during this process and Matt was easy to get in touch with and quick to respond and answer my questions. There was some confusion with some new vents I wanted, and Matt was quick to resolve it. I am very happy with the work, and would hire them again.

We made an appointment for 1:30 pm on Friday 8/29. My husband took a day off work so he could be here when the estimator came. The estimator never showed up and didn't even call. Super Service Award????

I have had a recurring roof leak on my Mansor roofed home somewhere between the upright roof and the flat roof under an upper deck. To remedy the leak I have replaced the flat roof, the sliding door leading out to the flat roof, the soffits on all the windows over the flat roof and the top roof. I had exhausted all ideas and previous contractor options. I had three companies come out to see if they could diagnose the problem. Two did not find any issues and then Matt from Roofs R Us arrived. He called to tell me he would meet me at the house. On June 26th he arrived 5 minutes before me and went up to review the situation. He was sitting on my step when I got there and he indicated he had found the problem and was 100% convinced he could fix it. He took me up to the roof and pulled down the flat roof rubber where it rolled up the wall and behind the shingles. It only went up about a foot from the flat roof and did not have weatherproofer sealing over it and he said it should go up about 30 inches and then be lapped over with weatherproofer. He gave me a $750 estimate and I told him to start the work. I had spent $30,000 to date and he could fix it for $750. I was thrilled. He suggested that first I contact the contractor who had done all the other work to ask him to redo it for free. I was hesitant to do so since Matt seemed so competent and seemed to know the fix. He took a video on his phone and sent it to me to show the other contractor and charged me $49 for the visit which he indicated would be applied if he came back to do the work. I called the other contractor, who did not agree with Matt's diagnosis and indicated that the rubber had been securely sealed before he pulled it down from behind the shingles tearing it. I called Matt back and asked him to complete the work. He had me fax the contract to him (sent 7/10) but indicated he didn't need a down payment He said he would stop by to get a shingle to match. Originally he thought they would start 7/21 but he called me to say it would be pushed back a week. When he didn't come or call I left messages. He called to say he was looking for the shingle. A couple weeks went by. I sent him a text on 8/14 asking if he had found the shingle. He hadn't taken the shingle I had made available. I eventually called his cell that I found from the video he had sent me. He answered and indicated the shingle was no longer being made. I told him I had the name of it and gave it to him. He asked that I text him the name and he would try to see if anyone carries it or could order it. In the meantime my ceiling leaked with additional thunderstorms and I tried to impress upon him the urgency of solving this. He suggested I try to put plastic over it . I tracked down the manufacturer and he gave me a list of local dealers. I sent him two of the dealers names and numbers after talking to them and verifying that they could order it. I went out to get the shingle board to determine if we should order a lighter color due to aging of the existing shingles. I provided all that info on 8/17 and spoke with him on 8/18. He indicated he would order them that day and get to my job the following week. I called the following week and left messages to determine when he would be starting. I left messages with both the answering service and on his cell phone. On 8/26 I received a letter saying he would have to decline my job and returning my contract. He said that I hadn't put down a deposit and that if I sent one it would be returned. Matt had said the $49 visit fee would be applied to the $750 bid and that no deposit was needed. Exactly two months have passed and I am where I started, though the water damage is more severe. I sent Matt a text and he didn't respond. I called his cell from a different phone and he answered. He said he had too much other work and was booked through September. I asked about October. He hemmed and hawed. I indicated that if the shingles were more than he expected and it was a money question, I would like to find a way to make it work. He indicated my job should take only about 4 hours and he didn't want to pull his guys off of another job for just that. He clearly no longer wanted the job under any terms. With hind sight, I don't think Matt ever intended to do this job. The shingle was never picked up and when I questioned it he said he had stopped by and taken a picture instead. He then said they were no longer being made. When I located them and gave him the info, he promised to order them the same day but never had. I understand that on reflection he might have decided he didn't want to do my small job. I do not understand why he didn't tell me that 7/10 when he got my signed contract, or early in August when I asked about the delay, or mid-August when he promised to order my shingles. I don't understand why he doesn't return calls or have the integrity after 2 months to call me directly but instead send a letter. My job will only take 4 hours. I get it. But I would have thought professionalism, his word and his reputation would have been worth 4 hours. He had assured me he would give me a 100% guarantee on his work...I wonder what that is worth.

Time to get a new roof. Among the three quotes that I got, Roofs R Us price was the second lowest. We had two appointments with Matt Dlouhy and went through all the details. Matt clearly explained the scope of work and put everything in written. He responded my emails within hours and answered all my questions. I felt comfortable to work with him. About the actual work, I have nothing but good things to say. The team started at 8AM and finished a little over 5PM. The team did a great job and the cleanup. I would definitely to use them again and recommend them highly.

The process went well. Home owner was kept u to date on process. Fast instillation and clean up. Roof was done during a normal 8 hour work day. Have. It found one nail in the yard. Bonus!!! Extra room in the dumpster for any additional household waste.

The service was great. Matt came and spent a good deal of time with me going over the options and what exactly they would do, and when. Went over the costs and timeline for start and completion. He came back to finalize the project and what shingles we wanted. Worked began on schedule and completed same day. There were some rafters that needed repair and they came back and took care of that promptly and well done. Gutters replaced in less than a day and the work was good. Very professional and reliable contractor. I would use them again.

I felt the day we met with Matt Dlouhy would be about the same as all the other times we met with contractors about getting some improvement work done around our home. A discussion of work, expectations and final cost. Well, I along with my wife were in for something a little different. Upon meeting with Matt, we sat down and Matt introduced himself and proceeded to give us a brief detail about him, his company and, his work teams. Pretty impressive I must say. After a few minutes, our conversation focused to the job at hand, Getting a new roof installed on our home. The basics were easy. Making the decision on which shingles to have installed took some time, but Matt left some samples and gave us time to make our decision. With the decision made and planning in process we waited for construction day to arrive. On July 28th at approximately 6:40 AM the supplies started arriving and a short time later Matt's crew began arriving. At 8:00 AM the job started and I must say these people are some of the hardest workers I have seen in quite some time. Before I knew it, the old roof was off and the new one was in place and looking Great! It took this crew a little over 6 hours to do all this work including the clean up. The new rain gutters were installed the next day. Everything about this job went well. Some small items that normally happen with this type of work surfaced but were taken care of very quickly. Overall, We believe our decision to have Roofs R Us do the work was the correct one and looking at the outcome can see we were right.

Met with Matt to discuss the project and he scheduled the work. They arrived as scheduled and completed the roof the same day. The project was completed according to the terms of the contract- without any extras. They also did a good job in clean-up. Roofs R Us does quality work in a professional manner. They have re-roofed both of my properties in the last 1 1/2 years.

I got three bids, and they were the cheapest. They completed the job in one day using five men. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. However, after they left, I found some scratches (not too severe) on my asphalt driveway, left by the dumpster and the palette.

The new roof looks good. The company is good about getting back to me quickly to rectify any issues.

Matt(?) called to say he would be late because he got called out to look at a previous job. When he arrived, he was able to identify right what the problem was and showed me where water was getting in through our siding and at one of the bends on the roof. He asked if we were also getting leakage around our chimney, which we were, but I had forgotten about that at the time he asked. Then he told me how to fix the two leaks and said he would prefer not to do it...don't exactly know why, but I was fine with that. He told me exactly what to do and I went out and spent 15 dollars on roof sealer and a bit of ice and rain protection. He didn't charge me anything because he was late and just asked that I consider him when I need to get the whole roof done, which I will. After he left, I remembered there had been water coming in around the chimney so I called and asked what I could do to fix it. Had to leave a message with an answering service, but he got back to me on voice mail the next day with his recommendation. I was very satisfied.

From my first contact during my collection of bids to the end of the job I was always impressed with Matt and Roofs R Us. I had completed much research and contacted many friends and neighbors before I started this project. After meeting with 6 roofers, Roofs R Us stood out. Not only was their quote lower than all the others, but what they offered was equal or superior to all the others. I was very clear in what I expected and and I received concise information on what Roofs R Us would be doing. The time line line was exactly as promised. Materials were delivered the afternoon before the job. Early on the day of the project the dumpster was delivered. Within 15 minutes the Roofs R Us crew was on site and started working. The work progressed well and was done to the specs of the contract. They finished up quicker than I thought with a fantastic job. Clean up was pretty good. I found very little debris after they left. I had found a lot more after my A+ siding crew several years ago. Overall I must say Roofs R Us delivers what they promise. The communications were clear and informative. The work was done top notch. I am proud to have a Roofs R Us roof on my house. This is one contractor that I would definitely recommend and would suggest you seriously investigate if you are looking at getting a new roof.

WOW!! From the very start, the experience with Matt and his company was fabulous. Matt was very professional and prepared when he came to do an estimate. He was knowledgeable about the products and was clear about the work that was to be done. His crew started on the date that was promised and with a crew of 11 staff, the job was finished "on time" as promised. In addition, his crew was professional and courteous. The clean up was amazing. Due to his careful approach to the "tear off" our landscaping, grass, and home were not damaged at all. And each day after the job, materials were put away, cleaned up, swept and back to the way it was before they began the job. Matt - The customer service, the attention to detail, the responsiveness from you and your crew was above and beyond. Thank you!!!

It was a great job! The crew arrived just before 7:30 AM, and started tearing off the old roof. Everything around the house was moved or covered. The entire job -- tearoff, new ridge vent cut out, new shingles, all new vents -- was completed in one day. Cleanup was nearly perfect. Seamless gutters and new downspouts went on the following day, and everything looks and works great. Excellent communication, job done exactly as described, great cleanup and great pricing! Dealing with Matt was an incredibly smooth experience, from start to finish. He explained the "challenges" we'd had with prior insurance claims (no one else had ever told us our original roof used now-discounted organic shingles), and walked us through the removal/replacement process, end-to-end. He took video of some of the potential trouble spots, and included a generous allowance for any sheeting that might need to be replaced. (A quote from another company charged $55/sheet.) After his first visit, he offered to have a crew swing by the following Monday to put some plastic down to mitigate any additional leakage. This was done even BEFORE we had officially signed the contract. His focus on customer service really impressed us, Due to our "active leakage" situation, we made our decision quickly, and decided to go with Roofs R US. Matt reported that he could do our roof on July 1, just 11 days after our first meeting. In order to account for lead times, Matt had to make a special trip (after his "regular" workday was over) in order to get the contract signed. His last appointment was in Shoreview, but since we live in a Southeast suburb, we weren't exactly on his way home. Again, though, his attention to customer service was both remarkable, and greatly appreciated. The installation day went exactly as Matt had described, with the only delay being the delivery of the dumpster (which was completely beyond his control.) The crew was up on the roof promptly at 8:00am, and accumulated old singles in a pile on the garage roof until the dumpster showed up at 8:30. They had to take a brief, 15 minute "break" due to rain, but had everything wrapped up by 2:00pm, which turned out to be "just in time", as it started pouring around 2:30pm. Equally important, I think, has been Matt's post-installation responsiveness. When the city building inspector identified a concern, Matt sent a crew out within days, and scheduled the follow-up inspection. Although this is the kind of service one would expect, it seems like getting "after the sale" attention can be very problematic these days. However, Matt always responded to my emails promptly, and even returned a second time to replace a roof vent that had been dented during installation. While in an ideal world, everything always goes perfectly the first time, in the real world, there are often some odds-and-ends to attend to after work is done. I would have to say that Matt far exceeded our expectations, even going beyond what was required by contract, in order to make the customer (us) happy. One final note. Due to some confusion and miscommunication on our end, we ended up overpaying the final invoice (we didn't deduct for discounts.) I sent Matt an email on a Sunday, explaining the overpayment, and the check literally must have been in the mail on Monday, arriving on Tuesday. I've had retail returns/refunds take longer (and with MUCH more hassle) than that. So the bottom line is that we were VERY happy with our decision to go with Roofs R US for our (hopefully once-in-a-lifetime) roof replacement. They were the least expensive bid, and offered truly top-tier customer service. We hope to have them back for some additional jobs in the future.

We have a large house and recently shingles started falling off in one section. I had several roofers evaluate the problem (3). Of the three, 2 came out to take a look. One worked strictly on line to give an estimate. Matt informed me that they could do a spot repair but that the roof could probably last another 3-4 years. I was very impressed by his thoroughness in inspecting the roof and I asked him to give me an estimate for the repair and a second estimate for the whole roof. Elected to have the whole roof done. He explained the entire process,the removal, the different type of shingles available, the cleanup afterward, the schedule they proposed, the protection of shrubs, payment policies,etc. The entire interview and payment policies were very positive and professional. We chose the intermediate priced shingles and he gave us a date to start the work. The crew arrived at 7:00AM on the scheduled date and worked till dark. They finished the job in 2 1/2 days and it was carefully done. They cleaned up everything well and I am very happy about the job. The entire job from estimate to completion was done in the most professional way.

Matt was such a pleasant person when me came to my house and gave me a detailed presentation on service, the products. The price was a little more then expected due to the fact I wanted to have gutters all around my garage also. He took pictures of the garage to work with his crew to see how they were going to install them due to the fact I have a flat roof with a fence around it. The installation was scheduled for a Wednesday but I received a call at my house on Tuesday saying they were there and needed power but I was at work and didn't get the call until I got home. I noticed that the old gutters were off the house. I called Matt and told him his service had me scheduled for the next day. The crew lead called me and informed me that they would not be able to get to my house until later the next day. They were there when I got home from work and worked until 6ish and then came to the door to tell me they would be back the next day to finish (which was fine with me as there was no rain coming). It was a great crew and they did a wonderful job. No more water leaking into my garage. Super happy with them and work hire them again.

the workers were very polight. work was done on time. even thow it rained thay keep on working all the work was done on time my yard was cleaned nails & screws wear picked up with a magnut it was a good job

Work was scheduled to begin on Monday, June 30 after we returned from our vacation out of the country. Matt called and left a message on Thursday, June 26 stating that his crew would be out to begin work the following day. Since we were out of the country, I didn't receive the message until Sunday evening, June 29. Luckily, we weren't needed at home, and a fair amount of work was completed in our absence. The remainder of the work was completed on Monday by early afternoon. The dumpster was picked up early Tuesday. Matt was easy to work with and explained everything completely. All of my questions have been answered and I'm very satisfied with the entire process.

Everything went according to what he said. It went very smoothly.

Matt was prompt and gave us a great deal. The guys that came out were very nice and worked hard to give us a great end product. We would definitely use these folks again and highly recommend them.
