DL Tile

We called Dave in July for an estimate for a tear out of our existing dated tile in our large walk in shower and bath. We were not able to schedule the work till end of Oct. so Dave put us in his calendar for end of Oct. He told us we would need a plumber to come out the second day of the project so we had this scheduled and were ready to go in Oct. Dave started the job as planned and all went well. We tweaked the job a bit during the remodel and Dave was very helpful and positive about all the changes. He made several trips to the tile shop and the dump to dispose of our old shower door, tile etc. The tile that we chose was a bit complicated but Dave planned it all out and it looks awesome. Our new bathroom looks great and we would highly recommend Dave. He spent quite a bit of time in our home and always called before coming over or if he was running late. He is a nice guy and he felt like a family member at the end of the job. We will call Dave for our next tile job.

Just received an estimate. He was on time, but I ended up going with another company. ($6000.)

He's very creative. He does very nice quality work and he's great to work with! He's also very reasonably priced.

I selected DL Tile because they gave me the low bid and because of the many positive recommendations on Angie's List. Dave told me he couldn't work on my job full time for about a month but offered to fit me in around another job if I wanted him to get going sooner. I took him up on his offer and he got started ten days later. Dave got the job done in three weeks. He was a great problem solver. When issues came up (like not being able to get the custom radiant heat mat), he came up with good solutions. He always kept me informed about what was happening. And when I had a concern four months after the job was completed, he came out right away to take a look. He also passed on his discount on the purchase of the tile. I highly recommend DL Tile.

The job went very well. Dave was flexible in working with us to add decorative touches to the install that made the overall job look outstanding.

It looks great, the guy was pleasant. He did a great job. When he had a family emergency he was good about communicating. Everything went like it should.

Dave came over on short notice and worked with my schedule to give an estimate. He is great at documenting the work to be done, even drew out a drawing of the work with measurements! I received my quote within a day and a follow up call as to make sure the quote was received. I am confident that Dave would have done an excellent job based on his rankings here and the pictures of his work. We are going with another person (a guy who has done some work for family and friends) because we feel Dave's talent would be wasted on our job. We are doing a quick and simple install with no complexities or style, simply finishing a bathroom which hardly gets used. Dave was in line with the other people on price however the guy we are going with is doing it for $1000 less as a favor. I am a little worried about quality with the guy we are going with but we aren't going for quality with our job. If quality were important, we would go with Dave. We will use him once we move to a new house!

Dave was great from start to finish. We had a terrible time with getting our concrete poured properly on the porch and Dave was (1) very patient with us...especially since we were so frustrated with the terrible concrete job and (2) he kept coming back to check on the concrete to make sure it was proper before putting down the tile...to ensure we wouldn't have problems. After a year, we finally have tile down and it looks FANTASTIC! We couldn't be happier with Dave's work! Now we have to get new outdoor furniture to match the great looking tile job!

Dave quickly responded to our request for a bid. His bid was considerably higher so we went with another company.

Dave was wonderful - he presented us with a competitive estimate that didn't increase as the job progressed, he completed the work on time, and did a thorough clean-up after each stage. We were thrilled with the finished product, yet he even took the time to follow up a few weeks later to make sure we were satisfied with everything. We would hire Dave again in a heartbeat for any future tiling projects.

The tile looks amazing in our kitchen and Dave did a great job with the install. I would definitely hire him again. We did run into some scheduling issues because of the big snow storm that happened the week before our job. And because the company we purchased the tile from didn't send it to the correct location but Dave was great about rescheduling and getting our job squared away. We could tell he was worried about getting all of his customers taken care of and back on track after a couple of days when he wasn't able to get to the job. The only thing I didn't like was that after the job was done there were bits of grout stuck in various odd places. Dave did take time to clean up and I think it was mostly due to the color of the grout being dark brown which blended into everything else in our kitchen. (Hard to see unless you're a little obsessive about cleaning.) And I'm sure it stood out more after it dried. So it doesn't take away from the great job otherwise.

Dave arrived on time for the estimate and was able to provide a price immediately. We scheduled for the next week and began work on time. I like to do as much pre-work as possible to save costs and Dave helped tremendously with advice. He saved me at least $200 by pointing me to Home Depot for the slate tile instead of a national tile chain. The slate was $2 per sq. ft. less in price and the material was the same or better quality. I was able to buy extra and hand select the perfect colors for the wall. He also saved me costs by telling me how to apply sealer (easily done) and looks great. Dave communicated very well at all steps of the job and kept the home very clean during the project. The results were far better than I expected and the craftmanship was excellent. Dave is the type of contractor who will work with you on any step of the project. He'll do the entire project or just what you cannot do for yourself. He will also share his knowledge as well as provide advice.

Dave truly is an expert tile installer. The level of the quality of work performed was extremely high. When our family members saw our house after all of the tile work was done, people were shocked and amazed at the transformation. Dave worked well with us from start to finish on every aspect of the project. He gave us design ideas, recommendations, and made several trips to different tile stores for us to pick up every individual item we needed. He laid down runners to protect the carpet in every room, and made a very concerted effort to keep our house, as well as his work space in the garage clean. The only negative is that our shower was out of commission for much longer than we anticipated (17 days), but in the end, it was well worth the temporary inconvenience. We highly recommend Dave for any tile project.

Dave removed our fiberglass shower stall and old tile (on the tub deck). He prepped the walls and tiled the shower and tub deck. I had a wonderful experience working with Dave. He was very professional, responsive to our needs, and always came over at the time he said he would. He offered design ideas, answered my questions, and made sure that I liked it before he started putting tile on the walls. He was very respectful of my home and even cleaned up the bathroom when he was done. His quality of work is excellent, and I am very happy with my new shower and tub deck. We will be finishing our basement soon and really want him to come back and help us with our new bathroom. I would definitely hire Dave again without any hesitation or reservation.

Dave did an outstanding job. As my house has required quite a few updates and repairs. I have had experience with many contractors over the past few years. Dave has been the best. The tile I ordered did not arrive on schedule, so he had to rearrange his schedule for our project. Dave tore out the old tiles and rebuilt the sub floor. Then had to wait again for us to get the gas logs installed and the gas line inspected. He worked on Saturday to stay on schedule with his other customers. He would call us first thing in the morning to confirm when we should expect him. I felt comfortable giving him access to the house when we were not home. He is thoughtful and careful about laying out the tile. He's focused, forthright and hard-working. He was patient and kind to my 2 year old and made sure he left the work space safe for my son and our pets. The end products look better than I expected. I highly recommend Dave.

Dave is personable, organized, trustworthy, & skilled.

Dave was great in coming to quote, honest about when he would be available and what he would do. He told us how much tile to buy, what kind he recommended, and where to buy it. We weren't originally going to tile the dining room, we called and added it to the job, and he adjusted his schedule accordingly. Dave started the job when he said he would. Dave removed old tile and pulled up linoleum. He did not prepare the dining room floor;we had to replace the sub floor. Dave did a great job! He had to move the refrigerator, lift up the dishwasher, remove trim. He does great work. He is an artist.

We ended up going with someone else that cost a couple hundred less and start the job sooner. Dave brought pictures of his work, and it looked great. I would have liked to hire him, but we didn't want to wait so long to get the work done.

Dave, the owner of the company was incredibly responsive, on time and followed up on his commitments. While this was a small and simple job, we had no idea how do the repair, and he treated us very professionally. The work was flawless and the workspace was immaculate when he was done. He was friendly and did a lot to educate us about the process and the materials he was using. My husband and I would both highly recommend Dave and the company.

Dave's work is excellent. He was meticulous in his attention to detail, working with us to find new solutions to edging glass tile around the shower. The rock and glass tile were cut perfectly so they formed a clean edge against the wall edges. He kept the workspace clean over the life of a longer job. He was responsive to change the threshold stone to meet our flooring transition needs. He consistently communicated his work plan to us so we could coordinate the work we were doing with his.

To his credit, Dave did try to reach me at least once, however, the last voicemail between us was mine to him several days ago, and I have heard nothing. As positive as his reviews might be, I don't do business with people who don't return phone calls. It is a matter of principle, since I am the customer.

THE OWNER, DAVE, WAS VERY NICE, AND SEEMED QUITE KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE WAS SEVERAL HOURS LATE EACH DAY, ALTHOUGH HE'D CALL MOST OF THE TIME WITH AN EXPLANATION. AS WE WERE IN KIND OF A HURRY, WE DIDN'T GET OTHER ESTIMATES, SO WE CAN'T COMPARE PRICES, BUT HE WAS PROBABLY FAIRLY COMPARABLE TO OTHERS. HE PUT DOWN MATERIAL TO KEEP THE CARPET CLEAN AND SWEPT UP THE DEBRIS WHEN HE WAS DONE.
