Poorly, overall. It took six visits to get an effective fix. On the earlier visits, the technician would get it running but not check to see if the underlying issue was solved, with the effect being that it would stop working again within hours to a few weeks. Since they have a four hour arrival window, we had to set aside a total of 24 hours for this problem to be fixed. The scheduler always said we would be called or texted with a narrower arrival window on the day of the repair, but that never happened. The only reason the rating isn't even lower is that the technician who came on the final two visits was very professional and thorough. After the first visit, we did get a call offering us an extended warranty at a much reduced cost; otherwise, the cost of the repair would have been several times as much (they stretched out long enough that the repair itself was no longer under its own warranty.)

Their online scheduling was really good. I could reschedule. I liked that a lot. I just thought that they were expensive, that's is why I gave them a "B" rating instead of a better rating. They were able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed. They were professional. The only negative is the price. They probably wouldn't be my first choice, but I would consider using them again if I needed to, if I was in a pinch.

I waited nearly a week for Sears to come out. On the day they were to arrive, they gave me a two hour arrival window, which was helpful. Unfortunately, they never showed. I called several times and they said they were on the way. Finally, at 8:30 at night when I called them, they said they weren't coming and would call within 24 hours to reschedule. They also said they would send me a $40 gift certificate for my trouble. I did not get the gift certificate. Sears never called to reschedule. (But, I wouldn't hire them again anyway.). Very disappointed. Don't use.

I have a very old refrigerator, it's 25 years old and I was really convinced that I needed a compressor and was weighing whether I should just get a new refrigerator. But, the man came out, examined it, figured out that the part was very inexpensive and even suggested I don't hurry to get rid of this refrigerator. He did not have the part on his truck and he said, "I will be back before early evening with the part," and he did. I was shocked at how inexpensive it was. I had a coupon from online too. There was no additional trip fee when he went out to get it.

The service was medium. The window of service was from 1-4 and he showed up quarter to 6. He was an hour and a half past the window. Then he came in and for $109 told me what I needed to do, turn off my refrigerator and turn it back on to see if that would work. That could have been done over the phone or at least done on time. It wasn't very good. Do I think I got good quality for my money? No. Do I think the level of service was good? No. Will I call them again? No.

My Kenmore water heater had burst while under warranty and needed replacement. Sears required that a technician make a $99 visit to confirm "yep, it's broken". Sears warranty pays for the replacement, and the owner is required to pay for the installation. This is reasonable, I suppose. What I feel is not reasonable is that the $99 Sears' mandated technician visit does not get applied to the installation related charges (which totaled $466). In my experience with other similar service providers, diagnostic fees are applied to required work, if performed. It seems to me like Sears is being excessive/greedy.

Sears was HORRIBLE. We are still in the process of dealing with them. This has been 3 weeks so far and my house is in MUCH worse condition that when we began. Our kitchen floors, walls, and fridge are ruined. Our basement ceiling tiles are completely wrecked. They were even dented from holding so much water. Our carpet and furniture have water damage. We waited for days without water to have them fix what they did and when they came- they did nothing. I cannot believe we paid $350 for them to come and fix something and they created a HUGE problem that will cost us much more
Description of Work: Our Fridge was leaking and we told Sears it was urgent. They couldnt come for a week. When they came a week later they did not have the parts. Then they came the next week. After their visit, we noticed our basement was being destroyed by a leak behind the fridge. When I called telling them about the emergency they said they couldn't help for three days (today). They came today and are not taking any accountability and will not even fix it! He told me to call a plumber.

It didn't go good. They didn't actually repair it. I actually had to take it up with them to get some money back. It was like $150 and then, after I tried to complain, they offered me $50 back. So it still cost me $100, even though, they didn't fix anything. I had a slow water leak in my washing machine and I gave Sears a try because I thought they would be able to fix it. He came out and he ran a couple of cycles and didn't notice where the water leak was coming from, even though it was obvious that there was one. Instead of actually going and investigating it further, he took off the top of the washing machine. In certain washing machines now, there is a plug or a drainpipe at the bottom. In order to get access to that, you have to basically take the entire washing machine apart, which he didn't do, which I eventually did and fixed the problem. There was a clog because there was hair and debris and stuff from being used, it's a washing machine. I fixed it myself. So, he came out, tried to diagnose, it didn't work and then, when I complained about it, they told me that the only way they would refund my money or do it would be, if they came back out. I said, "Well, I didn't want you guys to come back out. It's my washing machine, it's my house. I fixed it on my own because I found the time to do it, which I didn't want to do." I finally had to go to Twitter or something or Facebook to even get them to respond to me. So, it was terrible. It was not a good experience. When he came over, he was punctual, he was nice, he was friendly, but he didn't do what I wanted him to do. He came and he didn't fix it. They should have followed up with me like, "What can we do more? We obviously didn't fix the problem." And then, when they didn't, I fixed it on my own because I have a house of four people and we can't just go weeks without a washing machine. I fixed it and then they told me I shouldn't have fixed it, I should have had them come out. I said, "I can't just be waiting on you to try to fix the problem. I just want my money back. You didn't provide us the service, like you didn't do it satisfactorily. I'm a customer, I want my money back." They gave me $50 or something like that and then I said, "Well, I'll never use you again and anybody that ever brings up Sears Home Services, I'll tell the story. Good luck."

It went poorly. They did warranty repair work on a treadmill. It was a very poor experience. The cost of the warranty was good because the cost of the repair work cost multiple times what I paid for the warranty. It was agonizing dealing with customer service with Sears. The repairman came out. He did an assessment on what needed to be done. He ordered the parts. The parts unfortunately came in 4 different shipments. 2 of the shipments arrived, the other 2 disappeared. I don't know where they were and I had 3 different phone calls with Sears service asking where's my other 2 parts. They insisted they all had been delivered. It was terrible. Out of all my phone calls only 1 of them I felt actually tried to help me.

At the time of purchase Sears told us that the appliance will be delivered on August 17, 2016. They told us that they would call the day before to schedule the window of delivery. It is almost 4 pm on August 16, and they have not called yet. When I called Sears, the customer service person told me that they delivery crew will call me between 6 and 9 pm today about tomorrow's delivery window. This seems fairly inconsiderate to the customer that Sears is unable to provide window of delivery until the evening before. The expectation seems to be that the customer will drop everything that is important to sit around and wait for the Sears Delivery crew that can plan poorly enough to not know roughly what they will be doing the next day until the evening before.

I was very impressed. Sears appeared to be one of the few places that would service a Samsung fridge. The service man found out when he arrived that we had also had a constant ice build up in the freezer. He spent about 2 hours digging out the ice, finding a 'plug' in one of the pipes causing a slow leak leading to the ice build up and clearing that out. He did a great job drying and cleaning the freezer. He then identified that the filter part was broken and went about ordering a new part. The original cost for this was roughly $300. However, when the part arrived and he came to install, he realized he only needed a 'part' of the 'part', and thus he refunded us a little more than $100. He could quite easily have just installed the whole piece. I felt like I got very good value and service.

They were able to fit me in which was very good, because I wanted them on short notice. They called, and were able to come early, which was nice. The two gentlemen who did the work were very pleasant, and the carpets looked very good when they left. They are not my regular carpet cleaning service, and I think that the price could have been cheaper.
