A SEAR'S APPLIANCE REPAIRMAN CAME TODAY TO FIX MY ALMOST NEW, HIGH END KENMORE ELITE DISHWASHER. IT WAS THE SECOND TIME THE DISHWASHER'S DIGITAL CONTOL BOARD FAILED. THE DISHWASHER WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE THE IT WAS PURCHASED FOR A REMODELING JOB THAT WAS DELAYED. SO THE DISHWASHER WAS BOUGHT, BUT NOT DELIVERED FOR OVER A YEAR. THE DISHWASHER WAS ACTUALLY PUT IN SERVICE SEPTEMBER 2017, THE WARRANTY RAN OUT WHILE IT WAS SITTING IN THE APPLIANCE STORE'S WAREHOUSE WAITING TO BE INSTALLED. THE DIGITAL CONTROL PANEL FAILED IN FEBRUARY 2018. AT THE TIME I WAS TOLD BY THE SEARS REPAIRMAN WHO FIXED THE PROBLEM THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. HE TOLD ME THAT HE COULD FIX IT BY CLEANING THE CONTACTS BUT IT WOULD PROBABLY FAIL AGAIN IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS. SURE ENOUGH, IT FAILED IN JUST OVER 6 MONTHS. I PAID APPROXIMATELY $150 FOR THIS REPAIR. THE SEAR'S. REPAIRMAN WHO CAME TODAY TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS AND LABOR TO REPAIR THE DISHWASHER WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $450.00 BUT THAT IF I WANTED, SEARS WOULD REPLACE THE DISHWASHER WITH EXACTLY THE SAME MODEL FOR FOR ABOUT $500. HE THEN CALLED SEARS APPLIANCE SALES TO ORDER THE NEW DISHWASHER BUT IT TURNED OUT THAT REPLACING THE DISHWASHER WITH THE SAME MODEL WOULD BE A LOT MORE THAN $500. SO I DECLINED THE PURCHASE AND ASKED THE REPAIRMAN TO PROCEED WITH ORDERING THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR. HE THEN SAID HE COULD NOT PROCEED WITH THE REPAIR SINCE WHEN I OPTED TO REPLACE THE DISHWASHER, I VOIDED MY RIGHT TO HAVE THE DISHWASHER REPAIRED. HE SAID I WOULD NEED TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER $99 APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE DISHWASHER REPAIRED. THEN HE LITERALLY RAN OUT THE FRONT DOOR. I PAID $99 AND GOT NOTHING EXCEPT INCORRECT, BAD INFORMATION. WHEN I TRIED TO GET THE $99 FEE I HAD PAID REFUNDED, I WAS TOLD IT WAS NON-REFUNDABLE. I NOW I FIND OUT THE "PART THAT OFTEN FAILS" IS A SPECIAL ORDER PIECE THAT COSTS $200+ WITH SHIPPING AND IT MAY TAKE WEEKS TO GET. KENMORE BUYERS VERY BEWARE.

I made an appointment on line and received confirmation. Then I started receiving voicemails and emails telling me that my appointment needed to be rescheduled, including a 20% coupon if I rescheduled. I called the toll free number that was in the messages (email and voicemail) and was told that there was no need to reschedule -- a verbal and email confirmation again was provided. I continued to get email and voicemails telling me to reschedule, I called in three times and each time was told that there was no need to reschedule. I called the day of the appointment and was told the repair person would arrive at 2:00 p.m. When nobody showed up by 3:00 p.m. I called and was told that my appointment was cancelled and that they had been sending me emails and voicemails asking me to reschedule. I explained that I had responded to their emails and voicemails, each time being told my appointment was confirmed -- I was told "it must be a problem with our scheduling program" and asked if I would like to set up a new appointment...of course I said no as I can not trust the scheduling system/process and never plan to use them again

There was an ice build-up on the bottom of the freezer. The drain had become clogged and the water had no where to drain; so, it froze. The repairman removed the ice, replaced the drain fixture, and all was well. I was told the replacement part was about a $5.00 item. However, the cost to fix it was just under $400.00. A very expensive repair.

the said the service person would be over between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 and didn't show up until 2:20 p.m., soo was at the home until closed to 5:30 p.m............such a waste of an entire day!!!

At this point, we have purchased new ceiling panels for the rec room, thrown out our rec room soaked carpeting and spent hours and hours cleaning up and throwing out water soaked boxes with our belongings. We dried out furniture. Out dining room wood floor has water damage which is not repairable without removing half of the dining room flooring. We have purchased a new dishwasher from a more reliable company. NEVER again would we trust a Sears appliance or a repair man. We are waiting for our $89.00 back from the "Dispute" center as we were charged for a repair that did not work and that caused more damage. The service we received from Sears re; communication, repair and refund has been absolutely terrible. The first person that came thought we had a plumbing problem. he never checked the dishwasher. The second communication was a phone call from Sears within hours wanting to set up an appt. to install a new dishwasher. The third communication was the repair person who couldn't find the problem and left informing us it was fine. The fourth communication was the repair person who wasn't to fix it the first time and tried again. NEVER AGAIN would we do business with your company. Also, using the word "Lousy" in the above box as the "worst" barely describes this experience. I suggest you find a more descriptive word that is worse than bad.
Description of Work: The kitchen, dining room and rec room in the basemnt flooeded with water due to a problem with the dishwasher. It was late at night and due to due the depth of flooding which we found the next morning, it was bovious we had a serious problem. The repair man put the dishwasher through severla cycles and said he couldn't find the problem. He sdaid it was fine and we should use the dishwasher again. Again, our home was flooede with water although since we were home we were able to turn off the water. more quickly. However, The second time the floors in the kitchen and dining room were again flooded and so was the basement rec room. Sears refused to send the check back of $89.00 for the repair work and insisted the repair person make another attempt to find the problem. The same repair person the second time was able to find the problem which was the FILL VALVE was not shutting off. It was NOT a big problem to diagnose and it should NOT have taken 2 trips to diagnosis this.

The service tech was great but the Sears office was terrible
Description of Work: The interior of our year old stove bubbled when we used the self cleaning for the first time. Sears said call Kenmore, Kenmore said to call Fridgadare. I went back and forth between the two over several days as they pointed fingers at each other. Sears corporate office said basicly "tuff ****" and won't stand behind their product. The service tech who came out put in his notes that this was a manufactures failure.

He told me that it was going to cost a lot of money to repair but since I had the special service for the fall plan he couldn't charge me any more money. He did something to the machine which was working fine before his arrival. After I paid and he left (telling me that everything was fine) I put a load of laundry in the washer and noticed that the water was going very slow into the washer I happened to look down and there was water coming out of the bottom of the washer. After 30 minutes of trying to speak with the proper folks to have this problem resolved (initially I was connected to someone in the Philippines) I was given an apology by the individual that I spoke to and advised that a call was expedited out to the Tech advising him of the mess, I was suppose to receive a call back immediately. NEVER HAPPENED!!!!! I ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK WHICH THEY REFUSED TO REFUND I WILL NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN
Description of Work: I scheduled a routine fall home appliance appointment for my washer and dryer the tech said that the dryer was in good shape he I asked a question about water that sits in one fabric softener container he said that he would have to do a full diagnosis. I left him to his work before he called me back down to the basement and told me that there was a bad problem with the washer he had the whole machine pulled apart.

I was able to schedule service within a week. The very experienced and professional technician arrived promptly the morning of the service. He explained everything in detailed lay man's terms and provided me with some very useful maintenance tips. I was very impressed with every step of the process.

The technician arrived promptly, accessed the issues and corrected them in that one visit. He was professional, yet very friendly. He explained what he was doing through the process and what had to be done to correct the issues. This was the third time we had used his service and will gladly do so again, when the need arises.

The dryer has worked fine since the repair, so I am assuming it was a good fix. The problem was intermittent so time will tell. They do warranty the part and labor for 90 days and that helps.
Description of Work: Dryer would intermittently shut off and would not finish cycle. The control panel PCB was replaced.

They were not good. Sears Home Services were not good. In fact I called them to complain, and was told to basically pound dirt. We had very negative experience. So basically I wasn't happy with the service that I got. The repair person was negative about the company service and products, and wasn't very helpful. When I called to complain with the customer service, they were argumentative with me, and basically hung up with me.

I knew what it might need, and even told Customer Svc that a pump would be needed, and maybe Repair guy should bring one. He did'nt bring one or have one, so ordering was to be done, All said and done, was without use of washer for over 3 weeks.

The technician came, gave us a quote and my wife had to contact me about the charges prior to us agreeing to it. The tech said he'd have to come back, and charge us ANOTHER diagnostic fee for the return trip. Multiple calls about how irrational that is to Sears corporate and nothing. Do not use this company. They will rip you off!

Unethical practice. Avoid at all costs. Hire local and let Sears continue to nail their own coffin shut.
Description of Work: Fixing a water line to the refrigerator. They tried to require us to pay twice for a diagnostic fee even though the problem was already diagnosed...by that same person. Called, wrote letters to Sears and they wouldn't do a thing to remedy this obvious double-dipping charge...only because my wife needed to talk to me before we agreed to have the work done.

The technician came on the day of scheduled service and could not get into our building. They said they waited 20 mins, but we called 10 min after the missed call and they were already gone. The day of service, the technician was not able to print us an invoice or any itemized bill. Less than a week later, the dryer stopped working again and we had to schedule a re-service. Within the week, we had to request an invoice 3 times because they kept sending a receipt with the wrong amount paid (which you have to wait to receive within 24 hours, each time they did not meet this 24 hour window) Being that this is a rental property, we needed to supply our landlord with a receipt. The receipt we received simply said "misc sales" and the amount. There was no description or line items that detailed what we paid for (parts, labor, etc) I called Sears and explained I needed something with that information. They said okay and the same 24 hour email. I waited and two days past this time and nothing. I called again and the person assured me I would receive it. Again 24 hour nonsense. Next day, I'm sure you can guess what happened. NOTHING. I called yet again, and this time the person on the phone tells me they do not have the ability to send an itemized receipt. Why didn't the last two people tell me this?! I had been waiting now several days for a bill that they were able to even produce??? I asked to speak w/a supervisor who could only tell me she couldnt send me anything. I even said I would take something typed up. I kept getting "No. I requested to speak with someone else and she said she was the highest authority that I could speak to. Never recommending to a person, in fact, I will be posting on any review site I can find including BBB about this experience. The sad thing is, that my fiance just called them and the gentleman that assisted him was able to provide him w/an email detailing everything I requested. I suppose it depends on who you talk to or who likes you on the other end of the phone. Beyond frustrating. Side Note: I paid 400 dollars for this repair and wish the technician would have just suggested replacing it. This was my mistake as I didnt realize I could have purchased one for nearly the same cost if not less.

Technician said could not be fixed without a $500 part and that Sears no longer made a replacement dryer. After the technician left I fixed the dryer myself. Also called Sears and found they are still making the dryer and selling it for less than the $500 part. Received a survey from customer service and I told them the problem and asked for a phonre call and refund of my $89 service fee. Received no phone call and no refund

My appointment was from 1-5pm came at 5:05. I thought it was the inlet valve they didn't have the part, but he saw that there was a service bulletin on the fill valve he had that and it turn out to be the problem. He left by 5:50pm diagnosis was $65 for a total of $240 for a $24 dollar part on Amazon. Total ripoff!
