Alpha & Omega Stove & Sweep

I never had my chimney cleaned or checked before and have lived her for 20yrs. Ihad it built at that time. He was quite thorough in both his cleaning and checking. I had just had my carpeting cleaning and he was very careful inprotecting it.He knew I wanted to start a fire and he had everything in readiness for me since I am handicapped {both legs} and use a walker. He gave me an idea about how often to have my chimney cleaned/checked.He was a delightful young man and would be happy to recommend him to others.

We had to wait a couple of weeks for our appointment and the day of the appointment, they called and postponed by another 10 days. I had to take a vacation day to be home for the new appointment. That was disappointing, but the service was excellent when they got to the house. They used a camera to inspect the fireplace. They told me about a couple of things that will need attention in the future, but didn't do any hard sell. In fact, one thing had to do with the venting of the furnace and hot water heater. They told me that they don't do that work, but we should have the vents re-routed when we replace the furnace to prevent long-term damage to the chimney. They were very thorough and professional. They cleaned the fireplace and there wasn't a speck of dirt anywhere when they left. I will absolutely call them again.

They did a great job- they covered up everything, explained their process, did all as promised, and were on time. Nice job!

Provider was punctual, very professional, thorough and efficient. Protected our carpet and surrounding items close to fireplace with tarps. Answered our questions.

Will was early and performed the cleaning as needed. He even cleaned the glass doors and the hearth.

I cancelled the order and they held back $500 from my deposit. I got nothing from them other than a quote.

Great. It was late in the season, but they were able to repair the chimney and rebuild cap before the bad weather hit. They were done in a couple days (due to concrete work). The new cap looks much better than the original.

On time-called to say expected time was 4:45 p.m.

The installer of 2 gas log fireplace sets did a good job. The company had problems with scheduling and communication.

They did a very good job. There was no mess after they cleaned the chimney. They were delayed briefly but called let us know which we appreciayed. We found them easy to work with and very profesional. We would certainly have them back again.

Will was on time with assistant Brandon. They both worked quickly, efficiently and kept the area clean. Will gave good instructions on further usage of the stove.

Alpha and Omega Chimney had extremely reasonable price. They did an excellent job. I talked to them about other issues that I had and they gave me suggestions. They are very professional. They even pointed out somethings about my fireplace chimney which was good and they also cleaned my chimney and made some recommendations. The person who first came out, I think he got a little impatient with me. I know he got a tight schedule but at the same time I think it was partially me, but even then, he has to maintain professionalism. I am a demanding, time consuming customer.

Wanting to purchase a gas insert for our den fireplace, I phoned Aand O to inquire about their products and services. I was told that a service call to my home was necessary to make measurements of the fireplace, inspect the air flow and duct work, and clean the chimney prior to installation of any gas insert. The quoted cost was $179, which would be refundable if I purchased an insert. I set up an appointment and two men came out well within the scheduled time range. I had laid down two large towels at the front entrance to protect the foyer carpet. They removed their shoes and were reasonably careful to protect our floors. They were very friendly and answered a number of questions. They spent about 10-15 minutes to inspect the chimney and take measurements of the fireplace, and informed me that the chimney did not need cleaning, probably because we had earlier converted from a wood-burning to a gas-log fireplace. I was charged $125 instead of $179 because chimney sweeping was not needed, and I gave the men a check, even though I felt the cost was high. Understanding that a number of insert models were available at their store, my wife and I visited the store that same afternoon. The store also operates a rental business, but it is adding a large entry fireplace display, presumably to emphasize its heating products. There were a large number of stoves on the floor for display, but relatively few gas inserts. We got an estimate on a model, but decided not to purchase it because we were not satisfied with its quality. We were never offered a copy of the measurements made during the service call, and had to go through the whole process again when we visited another store, where we eventually purchased a gas insert. I e-mailed Aand O to express my view that the price of $125 for the service call seemed excessive, given the short amount of time spent and the small amount of work done, and requested a refund of half that amount. The manager phoned me to follow up, but only indicated that the pricing was consistent with store policy. I later received one other follow-up call from an outside service center, with the only consequence being yet another chance to express my frustration with Aand O's pricing and services. I've learned from this experience that if you're thinking of purchasing a gas insert for your home: (1) Visit a store that offers a variety of demo models so you can be sure the store can sell you a product you want to buy, (2) Don't approve a service call before visiting the store, and (3) Shop all competitors in your area that sell similar products before making a purchasing decision.

On time, recieved problem and performed good. Polite and answered all questions clearly.

On time, took closest route to wood stove to keep traffic dirt down.

Worst company I've ever worked with. 1005 scam. They didn't fix my problem, charged my credit card, then offered to fix the problem for 9,000 more. Steve, the owner, is a rude man, who just pushes me off the phone.

Technician was late arriving but called me and left a voicemail informing me of approximate time of arrival, which was much appreciated. Tech arrived and introduced himself and explained what he was going to do. He laid down drop cloths to protect floors and went to work. He worked quickly and included me in on inspection showing me my chimney flue on the camera and explaining what he was inspecting for. He then showed me damage sustained to my fireplace interior box and we discussed options to include replacing with a zero clearance wood burnning stove, which he took measurements for and obtained a quote from Alpha Omega for purchase and installation of the wood burning stove. Upon completion of the work I was given a folder with informational brochures and a business magnet for Alpha Omega, and my receipt. I was very happy with the service and feel that I got my money's worth, and plan to purchase a wood burning stove and installation from Alpha Omega.

They were on time, very courteous and explained their process and went over some code issues with our fireplace. Steve, provided me two options for addressing the needed corrections complete with estimates.

Alpha & Omega's employee Steve came out, reviewed our options, installed and tuned insert. Even though an 80 mile trip was required. He never mentioned that, and worked with us to complete a beautiful project!

Last week I was at QD, waiting in line with everyone else to pay. A man walks in, cuts in front of everyone in line and hands the cashier $6 and say's "$6 in gas on pump (x)". I thought - that was rude and looked at the cashier like "Really?". She apologized to everyone in line and said "He did the same thing this morning, cutting in front of everytone to buy donuts." On my way out of the parking lot, I drove past the same guy and one other guy standing at their Alpha and Omega van, in their work uniforms, using the gas to was their hands and dumping it in the middle of the parking lot. Very classy. Obviously, I wouldn't hire them to come into my house and perform work, but I thought it worth mentioning to the other Angie's list members that if this is how little respect and professionalism these guys show in public, could you really trust them to treat your property with respect? I was getting ready to have a chimney sweep/annual servicing scheduled, and this was one of the companies I was considering using. Otherwise, I might have never paid any attention to the company the technician's in question worked for, but I'm glad I got a candid look at how they behave before I put my hard earned money on the line.

Though it took several reschedules to get the work done, it was done well and quickly.

They called when they were about 45 minutes away to give me an update on the time they would be out. They did a great job. Very clean, very professional. We have a light colored carpet and they didn't get anything on it. Received a letter about 2 weeks letter in the mail, thanking us for our business.
