Description of Work: I purchased a Deal through the List, and expected the end price to be high b/c of the work I needed. The men were punctual, efficient and transparent, showing me exactly what the problem was - two bathrooms had faucets seized and leaking - and offering me solutions. Since they needed to be replaced, I asked them to replace the sink, as well. They worked fast and got it done to my satisfaction. I asked if they would be available to install a new toilet in my mother's condo as well - and they offered to do it later on the very same day, even though it was a half-hour away and it would make a longer work day for themselves. They ran into unexpected problems during the installation (broken concrete flange in a 70-year-old unit) but again, promptness and cost-efficiency was a high priority for them, and the job was done to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: Total replacement of the internal components of a bathroom toilet. They did a good job and were on time and the price was competitive however I did have to call them to fix a leak from the toilet they repaired a week later. They came out the morning I called and fixed the problem. No more leaks.

Description of Work: Exchange sink garbage disposal unit

Description of Work: Jimmy, from Universal, was prompt (actually early), professional,friendly and competent. He replaced valves under 2 sinks, tightened tank on back of toilet, and installed new faucet on bathroom sink. All went fine.

Description of Work: Used camera to check sewer drain to root cause for water backup. It was determined that a Y-pipe was installed backwards.

Description of Work: I purchased the $69 outside faucet deal, which they up-sold to $200 more to fix an additional inside shut-off. However, in discussing a problem I had been having with high water under the basement, the plumber correctly diagnosed the problem, which was that when the sump pump had been replaced, the previous repairman had set it too high. I gave this plumber the go ahead to lower it too the bottom of the sump well and that one change lowered the water table under the house. Very satisfied with the visit.

Description of Work: Purchased the 40 gallon hot water heater for $765 needed a few extra pipes to bring it up to code which cost a bit more.

Description of Work: An anchor bolt for our powder room American Standard low rise toilet had rusted out and the toilet was "rocking" on the floor. The bolt was replaced (which involved lifting and resetting the toilet) and the toilet was recaulked. It is fine now. I felt somewhat pressured to seriously consider replacing the toilet. I made it clear that I did not want to do that. It was suggested again and a quote was given, although unwanted and not needed. I would have been happier without the "sales pitch".

Description of Work: Two guys showed up from Universal. One did the inspection while the other sort stood around and got materials from the truck. The ad was misleading. the $39 was for them to look at the toilet NOT TO ACTUALLY DO ANY WORK. I was subsequently charged labor and parts (a new float and handle) which I thought was somewhat overpriced, but I needed the work done and they were there. The gentleman kept "looking for" and "pointing out" things he felt he could do better for additional charges. I'm not sure the recommended work actually needed to be done or not.
