Called to get my outside garden hose water valves replaced on the side of my house. I purchased the parts ahead of time and was charged $375 for the replacement of those valves. Worker was there less than 2 hours and I was charged $375 (!!!) in labor for the replacement of those valves. In all fairness company was great to deal with, but I feel i was overcharged and I am regretting using this company.

He was punctual and neat. I thought the price was very reasonable. He had to drain the water lines and put antifreeze in the plumbing.

We contacted Angie's List in the early afternoon, and explained that a sewer blew its grate cover when the toilet flushed. Toilet water was covering one room of the basement floor. Angie's Call Center person quickly understood the situation, and gave me the names of several and quot;Aand quot; rated companies that could handle the job quickly. I called Universal Plumbing and Sewer. A woman answered the phone, listened to my problem, and said she could order a plumber to arrive no later than 7PM that evening. The truck arrived at 6:45 PM, Dennis got out introduced himself to me, John, and immediately asked about bot our family and the problem. He was very friendly. Getting about 50 feet of sewer snake and some tools, he followed me into the basement through the back door. He made a point of meeting my son Mike and establishing a relationship. Quickly diagnosing the problem, he returned to the truck for more snaking coil. Downstairs again, Dennis was careful to ask us what we knew about the sewer and the house. He ran the snake, while talking to Mike and me. He found the blockage, a bundle of 'cleaning' wipes, then explained to us not to flush this type of wipe down the toilet, as it will block the drain. Dennis quickly finished the job, and explained too me to let the floor dry overnight, then to sweep first, and wash the floor later. It was a very satisfactory experience!

I have been through Four, count them, FOUR plumbing companies, three (hey, I know a guy types), and a list of other referrals. Universal is the BEST experience I have ever had with a plumber....honestly, any service provider I've ever worked with. They had a TON of work to do, showed up early, looked over the work, and kept working from morning until late in the evening and to my knowledge, never even took a lunch. They cleaned up after themselves, fixed for free some shoddy work Dennis (the main guy I worked with) spotted and did it for free...just because he was already up there. They double checked every decision with me to make sure I was happy and both of them had great attitudes. Dennis even remembered that I wanted to update a drain cover and picked one up a few days later because he knew I might call and wanted to be ready for me. I will never, ever go with another company for plumbing. If Dennis babysat, I'd probably hire him for that too. He helped me get my house ready for our newborn baby and gave me a huge sense of relief. Tons of work, did it one day (no and quot;oh I need a special wrench, but it's 4 pm and I'm tired so I'll waste your time by coming another day BS), and did with a great attitude. Thank you so much Universal for giving me hope in the service industry and thank you Angie's List for being worth your digital weight in gold!

Explained to me at every stage what was happening and alternatives at various price points. One more minor job was very expensive and I canceled anothet minor job which was quoted at an exyremely high price, $200 compared to a handyman quote of $30. The main job was OK price wise for the amount of work and skill that was required. The plumber the Company sent was hard working and good at both diagnosis and cure. Another project I plan to organize with him has been looked at a number of plumbers over the years who have all said it is impossible; this plumber took time to find the root cause of the problem and present a great solution - I am saving up for the job to be done :)

I called Universal Plumbing because my kitchen sink kept backing up. They said the would be there anytime from 2-5 and Dennis showed up around 2:30. He looked at my sink and it turned out it was the drain tube from my dishwasher was not mounted correctly and it would cause the sink to back up. Dennis was great. We just purchased the home a few months ago so I asked him a million questions and he patiently answered all of them and even offered a few tips. I was thoroughly impressed with the Dennis and how great he was to answer all of my questions,. I would definitely call them again.

No work was done, as it seemed the woman answering the phone didn't want to be bothered with a call on a Saturday morning. I don't know if these folks are any good because I never got past the call taker.

I had called for the $35 special. They asked if I had any specific issues and I said yes, the two toilets keep kicking off the fill valve periodically. The guy looked in the toilets, but did not have a clue what ths issue was. I suggested that could it possibly be the water pressure into the house. Thought maybe he would measure that, but he did not. He called his boss and they suggested I may have to drain my lines and refill. Later that week I purchased a water pressure meter and tested myself to find the PSI was 80, which may indicate I need a water pressure regulator. I had also pointed out and showed him that when the sprinkler system was turned on the main water piped banged. I don't think the person they sent was experienced in this type of issue. He was professional and did a good job looking at the standard plumbing.

Good. He snaked the outside clean out and then checked to see if it was draining properly.

Excellent. Quickly identified source of leak and with one quick tighten of a nut, the problem was corrected. The server person that came out even let my nine year old mini Schnauzer climb up into his lap for a hug and pet. Great people!!!!!

Everything was great. Universal Plumbing is extremely professional. Calling the office staff is pleasant. They showed up on time, were very professional and considerate to me and my house. They were extremely clean and took all materials removed with them. They left no mess, no debris, and did not track dirt in my house. They wore booties and were very considerate of debris. They worked fast, gave me a written estimate, and were done in a timely fashion.

All good just schedules didn't work out. Would of been nice if services could of been done on weekends.

I called Universal Plumbing around 9:00 am Saturday Morning to address a few issues we were having. We had slow drains and our toilets were not flushing properly. They were able to send out a plumber to a**** our issues the same day. The plumber showed up on time. He was very friendly and honest. He snaked out one of our drains and replaced a trap for us. He also gave us options to solve our other issues. He did not try to oversell or push us into anything. We were very happy with the service Universal Plumbing provided and we plan to use their services again in the future.

We were in a bind and were able to reach Universal to schedule the clean out rather quickly. The price was within range of what we have come to expect for this job. When Doug showed up, he appeared less than happy to be working. I understand it was a weekend, but I wasn't exactly thrilled with the situation either. My basement, after all, was filling with water. Doug and his crew proceeded out front to snake the line and did BARE MINIMUM work, if that. He was outside about 5-10 minutes, and had the nerve to tell me it was a and quot;tamponand quot; that clogged the house trap and cause our back up. We have lived in this home for 7 years, and I have had more then a few and quot;monthly visitorsand quot;. This was roots, and he did not solve the issue. I decided to let them go, figuring I would deal with the company when it continued to back up, which it did - that very evening. I called the company again, quite irate this time. They send out Dennis, who was not only professional, but far more knowledgeable about the issue. He snaked the ENTIRE LINE, not just the house trap. Dennis obviously took pride in his work, and even quoted us for excavation/removal of the line for furure reference. Dennis was the only redeeming quality of this company. I will not use them ever again and have since hired another company to permanently deal with the root issue.

Excellent job. Very fast and efficient. Would definitely recommend. Plumber not only fixed the problem but told me why it was happening and what to look for in the future.

Plumber arrived and checked out the valve. He knew what he was doing. He talked about the repair/replace option, and we chose to have the valve replaced to ensure the problem would be fixed. He completed the work in a reasonable time. Price includes $20 and quot;preferred rateand quot; discount and $30 Angie's List coupon.

Excellent communication. Quick to answer call and schedule appointment. Accurate timing for arrival of technician with heads up call 30 minutes prior to arrival (as requested). Service tech was knowledgeable, prompt, clean and courteous. Would definitely use again

It went very good. They were outstanding. They didn't charge me extra on the big deal that I purchased.

The work they did was professional and effective for my systems. Saving water was important to me and now I can with the repairs that were made!

BUYER BEWARE. AFTER PURCHASING THE $99.00 DEAL FOR $200.00 WORTH OF PLUMBING, I CONTACTED BY E-MAIL THEIR COMPANY AND WAS ASSURED THEY COULD DO THE JOB. I WAS AND FEEL THAT $200 LABOR WAS A LITTLE HIGH BUT MADE THE DEAL ANYWAY. I'VE DONE BOTH THESE JOBS BEFORE AND THEIR'S NOT MUCH WORK TO THEM. NOW THAT I'M OLDER MY ARTHRITIS INTERFEARS WITH MY DOING THIS WORK ANYMORE. ANYWAY AFTER HE COMES TO THE HOUSE HE TELLS MY WIFE THE JOB WILL BE $150.00 MORE! IF THE COST WAS GOING TO BE MORE THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME SO UPFRONT. SINCE THEY WERE ALREADY IN THE HOUSE, I GAVE THEM THE GO AHEAD. WATCH THE WORDING OF THE OFFERS IN ANGIE'S LIST! MANY OF THE OFFERS ARE NOT CLEAR IN TERMS OF WHAT YOUR ACTUALLY GETTING FOR YOUR MONEY. AS A SENIOR CITIZEN I FEEL I'VE BEEN TAKEN. VERY DISSAPPOINTED AND IF I EVER DEAL WITH ANYONE ON ANGIE'S LIST I'LL BE SURE TO DRAW UP A CONTRACT, SO EVERYTHINGS VERY CLEAR. BUYER BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! Plumber arrived timely and quickly determined that basement water puddling was due to slow leak in hot water heater in separate part of basement. (This was recently installed by another company). He advised that I call the company to come out and fix the problem and he would not accept any money for the call. I will definitely use this plumber for future needs!

The Big Deal service -and quot; $39 Toilet Tune-up and Home Plumbing Inspectionand quot; was fine, the follow on service was lousy. He spent about 20 minutes, replaced a bunch of parts - one of which was the connection between the disposal unit and the drain which he said was backwards. After he finished his work we ran water into the sink and the same problem remained - the water wouldn't drain, instead it just set in the sink. I said and quot;this is no better, in fact it's worse than before,' and his response was 'So what do you want to do?'. I asked for his recommendation and he gave two options - purchase some chemical product - Bio-Clean for $49 - he claimed it has some sort of bacteria that will eat away at the build up (I could see the buildup of 'gunk' in the piece of plastic pipe that he had removed), or the other option is to snake out the drain for $100. He said the Bio-Clean would be better because rather than just punching a small whole through the blockage the bacteria will actually clean the whole pipe. So I chose the former and bought the Bio-Clean which needed to be used every day for a few days. So he left and after spending $199 for replaced parts and $49 for the Bio-clean I still had the problem. Upon reflection I should have refused to pay for the replaced parts because they solved nothing. I used the Bio-Clean as directed every day for three weeks - nothing! I still have the problem I had before the plumber came and actually it's worse than before I started all this, so both his solutions have turned out to be useless. And the more I think about I conclude that he wasn't at all professional because he didn't solve the problem I had, but was quite happy to walk away with my money. I certainly wouldn't recommend Universal Plumbing again.

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. They are fantastic. Everything went well. I brought them back for a lot more work. They did everything I asked. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Plumber was early (called ahead). Job was done quickly and efficiently.
