Bella Decks

The deck has very high quality and workmanship. It looks and functions great. Frank Snell occasionally forgot details of the features that we requested, but he fixed them for free when we mentioned them. We recommend Bella Decks to others who want a deck designed and built.

I asked for a bid by email and they didn't respond.

I called and schedule an estimate to replace my deck. The person called one hour after the schedule time and said he was running late and would be there in 1 hour (which is 2 hours after the scheduled time). When I said that would not work - he just hung up.

Asked 4 companies to quote our new deck. Bella were the most competitive and the ones including the most feature for the quoted price. Went ahead and contracted them - Dealt with the sales person throughout the process. A day after we started the project we were informed that the permit was filed and a week later it was approved. Frank and his crew started immediately and did an outstanding job - quick, clean and were talking to us throughout their building process. The entire project took a little over 2 week from the time we signed them up, and the result is absolutely stunning. The deck is exactly as we had designed it, inch for inch. Frank even went above and beyond, adding dirt and seeding it to make the final result perfect! Really great job from Bella Decks. I would recommend Bella Decks to anyone looking for a serious and very professional team. I know I will definitely use Bella Decks again if I have any need in the future.

I did contact Bella and left my information for them. I received a phone call this weekend from the owner, who called to apologize for his Provider Response and he offered to do whatever it took to make it right. I also received an email as well. Bella "I sincerely apologize for not getting back in touch with you. I am a smaller company and I depend on my rating to have business. When I saw the ( F ) rating I was devastated today. I left a reply that I did not have you in my records,but when I looked a little harder I found your email. I understand my responsiveness was not good..." I give big cuddo's to someone when they are wrong and will admit it. If I have future needs, I will definitly get a quote from them. This is a stand up company to admit that they are just human.

They would have been our choice for the project if we had decided to go with a deck. However, we decided we would prefer a brick paver patio instead.

I've been a member of Angie's List for many years. I found Belladecks through AL. Frank returned my call fast. I had several builder choices, but went with Belladecks after I met Frank. He is a very down-to-earth man, and I thought, reliable & honest, especially after reading the better reviews about him. And I was right. Frank helped me from the getgo, from the permit application here in Oakland County (name of city withheld), to the Appeals process. He was even present during the Appeals hearing! He did as promised--- he did not cut down any trees; rather, the deck wrapped around the huge oak tree in my backyard. He even built a seating around the tree. (what a unique touch, I must say). He built a very sturdy & beautiful staircase leading to our walkout. The deck was approved, and now my family has a huge and impressive TREX deck to enjoy. I highly recommend Belladecks without any reservation.

The experience with Frank Snell, the owner of Bella Deck, was outstanding from beginning to end. His price was competitive and he honored that price when he was done. There were no hidden or unexpected costs. The job started on the day promised and ended on the expected day as well. Throughout the job, Frank was responsive to our concerns and kept us fully informed of what was going on. There were no surprises and certainly no disappointments. Frank was at the job site every day and if there were any issues, he made sure he discussed them with us before proceeding. His crew members were extremely courteous and professional. With the exception of a few things to clean-up that will have wait until the spring thaw, they cleaned up very thoroughly and made sure everything was put back in its place. Very professional and experienced but quote was 2-3 times other licensed and insured deck builders. We did not understand why cost was so much more than other quotes for same materials (two quotes - pressure treated and trek) and labor plus it did not even include permits.

Well built 400 sq ft deck off back of home. Nice guys and great work ethic, no complaints. Good attention to detail and able to be flexible with design ideas. Will definitely call them to do more work in the future.

In a very professional way they explained why the scope of my requested job was not their expertise. They then gave me a referral for a company that received my business. I am happy how they handled my request.

Franks had very good suggestions on how to make the deck better and combine it with a paver walk & patio. Work was high quality. He was delayed by weather and another job, but finished on his revised promise date.

TBD. Actual work will not take place for a couple of months. But everything else has gone well.

I love my new Trex deck! Frank and his crew really worked hard in the summer heat to get this done. The day after demo they returned to bore new post holes. When the machine blew a hydraulic line the guys dug the remaining holes by hand! It was 94 degrees that day. It took just a few days to do the framing and deck. The crew was meticulous making sure everything was measured and fitted correctly. It looks beautiful and the screws are hidden so you can walk on it in bare feet without getting snagged. Solar lights were added as a final touch to give it a nice glow at night. I highly recommend Bella decks. Hopefully I can have them build me a garage next since they do more than just decks.

Frank was very competitive in his price. I can tell him that now. He also threw in LED lights on the stairs which is a nice touch. He was able to start within a week which was also a plus. His crews had to work around rain but came on the dry days and finished in a reasonable time. Frank offered suggestions on adding some style to how the deck boards were layed out. The workmanship was excellent. When I painted the original treated wood structure to match the new face boards and railing, I noticed the additional structure that was added to strengthen the railing posts. That gave me confidence that they paid attention to the details and that this deck will stand up to abuse. They trampled some vegetation but that was expected considering the size of the job and that the gardens surrounded the baseof the deck. We've had several compliments on the deck from neighbors and friends. I look forward to years of parties with no more stripping and staining. I'll recommend Bella Decks to anyone looking for a new or remodeled deck.

I only actually spoke to Frank twice. I had to continually hound him to get a response. When I did speak to him he consistently missed followup dates. Frank indicated he was extremely busy but indicated he did want to quote on the project. The only reason I continued to contact them was due to their high rating on angieslist but eventually I decided that the lack of response and communication was simply to much of a red flag.

Overall a great experience. I have to say it was very nice dealing with a competent contractor.

Overall, the job went great. Frank and his staff took their time to do everything right. No shortcuts with these guys :) They even worked till 10pm on a Friday so that the deck was ready for my event that weekend. The whole crew was polite, and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to everyone.

Frank and his team are terrific. He worked through all the options with us prior, didn't try to sell one or the other, & happily changed direction with us as we made up our minds. He actually suggested a cheaper solution to the one we originally chose & ultimately I thought he was very fair about not charging us for every single little thing as we went along, but agreeing on a fair cost overall. They showed up on time every day, worked all day & kept fuss to a minimum. I highly recommend Frank & his team.

these guys were excellent. Randy was very professional and very good to work with. Punctual, gave good advise, wasn't pushy. I would definitely recommend them.

Everything went great! Frank explained everything from beginning to end and was on hand to make sure everything went according to plan. He made sure I understood everything that was going to happen in each step of the process. He even came up with a good solution for the problem I was having with ground hogs living under my deck! I am extremely pleased with the work that was done and the decks look beautiful! I have received lots of compliments . I was worried about the process of hiring a contractor because I didn't have a lot of experience with it. I would definitely recommend Bella Decks. They stand by their word which is important and they went above and beyond the call of duty. It makes a world of difference when you have someone who is reliable. Excellent job!
