Bella Decks

Very pleased with Frank and Doug's work on this large project. They provided deck drawings that effectively translated our vision into what the deck would actually look like, then quickly scheduled the job and worked with the city on the complicated permitting process. Their quote was not the cheapest but was competitive. Only one major hiccup during construction, during which Frank quickly came up with a remediation plan that was very reasonable. We communicated via email, phone and text and there were a few instances of miscommunication that were quickly resolved when we spoke in person. Throughout the project, Frank worked extra hard to accommodate our requests, even if they changed the scope of the plan slightly or extended the project completion timeline. Frank seems to be a genuinely nice person who wants to do a good job, not just make a buck. Overall deck looks great, and appears solidly built. City inspector found no major issues needing remediation. I'll be reaching out to Frank again for my next construction project, and would definitely recommend him to anybody looking to do major deck work.

Frank was a little hard to get a hold of at first but they started the work quickly, worked hard, and got it done in just a few days. They even spent the last day working in the rain to finish everything. The crew cleaned up well and the deck looks great!

Frank met us late in the evening and was accommodating to our schedule. He sat down outside in our backyard and drew us a design for our deck and wrote down pricing with various materials. His pricing is very competitive and he was very friendly. It was nice to see the complete breakdown of costs so that you could see how he reached the total. No funny business trying to inflate the pricing with hidden costs.

Bella's team was very helpful in designing our new deck. He was excellent with the installation and his team worked extremely hard even through bad weather to get the job done. After the work was completed, we found some minor issues. It took some time to get those addressed, but once scheduled, the team finished the job to our satisfaction. We are pleased with the outcome. We would hire him again.

We wanted a more open deck plan and made a unique request for a spiral Trex staircase. When calling local companies, no one had used the Trex spiral staircase kit yet so we met with some resistance with our quotes until we spoke with Bella Decks owner Frank. We had some unusual ideas and he was accommodating. We had some bumps in the road created by the Trex spiral staircase kit manufacturer, but Frank was true to his word and followed through with resolution to the issues that occurred.

It was a very good experience and they did a good job. It was a good price and competitive.

The work was completed in time. He did extra work and I thank him very much for that. What ever little issue I faced was taken care of Frank personally. He can be totally trusted with the work and money. He is a very hard working man and willing to do anything it takes to complete the job to your satisfaction. He added extra cedar stuff to make my deck and railing stand out. You treat him nice and he will treat u even better.

Frank is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. His price was very competitive, his workers worked extremely hard, and they built a beautiful composite deck. Our deck was an unusual shape and required unusual cuts and precision but he and his workers did it with mastery. Would highly recommend him

Frank was punctual. His crew was very good, cooperative and very easy to talk to about my concerns. The work was completed in one week which was the time estimate given at the time of the signing of the contract. I was very pleased with the entire experience.

Very well. They helped us design a new deck to maximize space while minimizing cost. Their bid was way below their competitors. They got to us pretty quickly after pulling the permit and assembled the deck with remarkable speed and diligence. These guys work hard! Frank and his employees were all a pleasure to work with. Clean-up could have been a little better.

The crew they had was using a very complicated diagram. They didn't interpret it correctly at all, which led to certain posts not lining up correctly. Eventually, one of the support beams forcibly bent due to the shoddy work. Using high school geometry I could have drawn a better diagram. They claim it was due to warped wood, but I know that's not the case. In fact, this winter I heard loud banging sounds I attributed to that of splitting wood. I think what it was their attempt to give us a cheaper crew with cheaper supplies.

What a great company Frank has, A+ all around. In and out in one day. nice attention to detail. Would use again.

Frank came out to provide us with an estimate for a womanized deck at our new condo. He was likeable and knew a lot about them. He gave us a ballpark idea of what it would cost. However, he said he would provide us with a more thorough and written estimate in a couple of days. We still haven't received the estimate nor heard back from him in over a week. Still waiting and wondering if this is who we should go with.

It went well.Frank was always showing up to check on the progress of his workers & to make sure things were done ..he was always in contact with me through the process ..There was a delay due to getting my deck approved through my association in my condo complex.I had the trex transcend material so I won't have any maintenance to do..It was more expensive but worth it.Now I have a beautiful deck .

There was some delay in getting started on the project due to weather conditions which we obviously had no control over. Once work was started they were very efficient and professional. Even the city inspector knew it was Bella who did he work because of the quality of workmanship. Very happy with the results.

My first call he answered the phone but asked me to call him in case he forgets. Called again went to voicemail and couldn't leave a msg; mailbox full. Never received a return call. Was probably too busy but he should have at least told me so.

Very friendly, punctual, informative, helpful. The estimate was ex[plained in detail, drawings and examples were given to me. All of my questions were answered. Although I have decided on a stamped concrete patio Bella Decks would have been one of my top choices for a deck builder.

Really a good experience overall. They were helpful, timely, and did an outstanding job on our deck.

Always responsive. Quoted competitively. The team were professional and did a great job, including addressing issues raised by the (very picky) inspectors in Birmingham and the unexpected discovery of a yellow jacket nest! Only two (very minor) gripes. There was some mud tracked onto the driveway that was then carried into the house by our dogs. Second was one facia board split and when I called there was no response. The deck looks great - like adding an extra room to the house.

Had a rough start with Frank Snell, but he is now scheduled to come and provided a quote today 8/10/15. I'm all about second chances, so I'll update a new review if and when work is completed. 2nd chance was a fail. No show. He then tried to call my cell about 4 times. I'M DONE!

When I called Frank for a quote he showed up the same day, was very friendly, and gave me an out the door price and drawing of my deck all in one visit, which is much more than I can say for most of the other companies I reached out to. Frank was very patient as I adjusted the design a few times on him. When we where ready to pull the trigger Frank promised delivery within one week of permit approval and he did not fail (again more than I can say about the other companies I reached out to). His crew came out the day after the permit was approved and started digging the post holes. They worked through one VERY hot day and one VERY rainy day with no complaint and a few days later I had a beautiful new deck. The experience of Frank and his new team definitely showed through in the construction and quality of the deck. If your looking for someone to build a deck, trust me, Frank is your guy.

I contacted Frank at Bella Decks for a quote to tear out a 10x10 deck on the back of my condo and replace it with a 20x10. Frank was very informative, you could tell right away that he was very knowledgeable. I was out of the way for him so to save time on the quote I took pictures of the old deck and annotated the photo to show where I wanted the new deck to extend to. I did have to follow up with him before I got the quote but his price was fair and his experience and good review sold me. In terms of price he fell somewhere in the middle not the most expensive and not the cheapest. It took a while to get started but I?m sure this is his busy season so that?s to be expected. My project was pretty small at $3800 (considering some of the decks reviewed here cost $40,000+) but his crew did a great job and really paid attention to detail. I had a few small details I wanted addressed after the job was done and although it took a few days (his crew was already assigned to another job) they did come back and address all of my issues. I am happy I went with Bella Decks. In the winter he does hardwood floors and other construction and I am so happy with their work that I will probably be calling him out for a quote to finish my basement.

Our deck project went very well and in the end we were very pleased with the outcome of the project. Frank (owner of Bells Decks) met with me on two separate occasions prior to starting the project. He was very good at offering up suggestions as to how we could improve on the original deck plan. His suggestions improved the size of our deck and configured the stairs in such a way as to make them less noticeable and more functional. After seeing how many man hours went into completing the project, I can say without hesitation that his price for the work was extremely fair..........and the best of the couple of quotes I got before starting. He handled obtaining the township permit and his crew started the work when they said they would and finished it within the timeline he quoted me in the beginning. The crew worked everyday from about 8:30 am until 7:30-8:00 p.m., and their work effort was extraordinary. The end product was a wonderful Trex deck that we are very pleased and satisfied with. The quality of their workmanship was excellent and no corners were cut in getting the job done. The clean-up at the end of the project was good. All-in-all, I was very pleased to have selected Bella Decks to handle our project and I was very pleased to have worked with Frank. I had need to call him several times before and during the project, and every call I placed to him was either answered or promptly returned. Working with Frank and the Bella Decks crew was a pleasure from the beginning and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a deck project completed.

.I contacted Frank to provide a quote for a new deck. He came out one evening (after work hours) and spent over an hour with me and my husband going over every detail of deck including taking the time to draw up plans as we discussed our needs. He provided a very good and competitive quote plus he said that he would be able to complete the project within 10 days. The project started on time, completed early (working late into the night and through a severe weather storm) and looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
