An old friend that owned his own heating and cooling company had recently retired. He recommended 1 st Heating and Cooling Co. He was spot on from the first phone call till the work was done. I couldt be more happy.

I am really pleased with two senior technicians' service. Wesley was the first one who tried to repair my small furnace. He found the gas valve issue and a long cracker inside of the heat exchanger, suggested me to replace it. He also did an extra work to found another cracker inside of bigger furnace. He found me a good deal to replace both. Within three days, Thomas and his team installed both furnaces efficiently and professionally. He also nicely explained some details and his future vision of my heating and cooling system. Very clean and nice work. Thanks a lot.

installation was good. removing the old tank was quite a difficult and they managed to take my old 75 gallon tank up a long flight of stairs. great effort and work getting it out of the basement.

When we found out we had a broken heat exchange, it broke our hearts. But 1st Heating and Cooling didn't let it break our spirits. Sure, we needed a new furnace, but the team at 1st Heating and Cooling made sure we were taken care of. While we did receive a few other quotes from a few other HVAC companies, their prices were more than fair and right in the mix with the others installing comparable products. More important than price, there was no comparison when it came to the customer service and overall treatment we received from the team. They even gave us space heaters to borrow for a couple of days until our new Amana furnace was installed.

I could not be more pleased with the experience of dealing with 1st Heating and Cooling in replacing my furnace/AC. From the quotation process through installation, all personnel were the utmost professionals and a pleasure to work with. Adam patiently answered all my questions on furnaces/AC units and made only honest recommendations as if he owned the home, not over or under selling. The installation was timely and first rate. I am very pleased with the Amana products and with 1st Heating and Cooling which will perform annual routine maintenance services for years to come.

This company sets the bar as to how other companies should be judged. From start to finish, they were communicative, punctual, professional and patient, answering all questions readily and providing all necessary information. It’s small enough of a company where you don’t get lost in the mix but large enough where they get jobs done in a timely manner. I had a full AC and furnace replacement done within one day and all transactions were completed expeditiously. They even turn in the qualifying rebates for you. The very next day after install, all my registration information for the units were completed and mailed to me. I couldn’t recommend this company more, and that says a lot because I believe I have very high standards.

They did a great job! On time, efficient, clean and neat. They really impressed us when they put down drop cloths to protect the carpet and wore booties on their feet. They have done work for us, our son and daughter, and friends. They always respond quickly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend them and will call them ourselves if we need their expertise in the future.

Working with this company was fantastic from start to finish. They were incredibly responsive and came out to give us a quote, then quick to respond to any questions we had over the next few days. We were without air when we signed for the work to be done and they made sure to get us in the next day before the 4th of July holiday. Would highly recommend!

Very very well. My furnace died on one of our coldest days and the team — all are direct employees — worked in very frigid temperatures to restore my heat and responded that day! The same thing occurred — a very hot day — when my compressor failed. Adam was out that afternoon to hammer out a deal and the team was out the next day to restore my air conditioning. 1st Heating & Cooling may not the lowest bid but they are the best value and reasonably priced. They know which products are most reliable and only recommend quality manufacturers. Ryan, the owner, insists on long-term customer satisfaction and product reliability. He works hard to be cost effective and doesn’t try to add features or frills that you don’t need; just those you want and are required to meet code. Ryan and his team are knowledgeable and work hard to complete the job in a timely manner without sacrificing quality.

Great experience. Ryan was a pleasure to work with. He listened to our objectives (better cooling in upstairs bedrooms, and quiet operation), gave thoughtful advice, and patiently answered questions. He's very knowledgable and willing to share what he knows to do the job right. We've had the install for a few weeks and the house is noticeably quieter and much better cooled. We were really happy with the whole experience.

Have had them out multiple times to do A/C and furnace tune-ups. Have done a great job each time. They're friendly and explain what they're doing.

I had a 2 ft. piece of duct-work near the furnace that had essentially rotted away at the base and I needed it replaced. I had put out a request for quotes and 1st Heating and Cooling was the first one to contact me back. Within 15 minutes, Ryan (the owner) had contacted me and was asking me what the scope was and if I could send pictures. After some back and forth, he gave me an estimate AND said he could have someone there that afternoon to fix it. (Other companies that replied told me they couldn't do it or that there would be a cost just to come and look at it!) I had to delay the fix/appointment a couple of days, but their tech called before arriving and showed up on time. He quickly completed the work, then performed a full furnace inspection (that I did not think to request) and then found a crack in my heat exchanger. He had a telescoping camera and showed it me, and then explained that furnace had to be shut down for safety. This was at around 1:30p on a Friday afternoon. I asked if they could give me some quotes on the repair and on a new furnace (my furnace was 23 years old), and he said someone else could come by that same day. A couple of hours later, Adam showed up (after driving across town, in rush hour traffic and pouring rain) and proceeded to spend over an hour with me going over the available options. He was super friendly, informative, and seemed to legitimately care about getting me the option I wanted (not the most expensive option). There was no high pressure sales pitch and he was more than happy go through each option, explaining what I would get for each price/model. I'm highly indecisive and didn't intend to actually purchase a new furnace on the spot without getting additional quotes, but the entire experience with the company up to that point was stellar, and Adam put it over the top for me. I asked how quickly they'd be able to get the new one installed (considering we were expecting up to 5 inches of snow that weekend) and he was able to squeeze me in first thing Monday morning! A couple days later I had a brand new furnace installed, and a new humidifier, and all is well. The crew that showed up for the furnace install was also on time, very professional, and cleaned up so well, I wouldn't have known they were there. I also got a follow up letter a few days later where they had registered the furnace on my behalf and included a personalized thank you letter. From beginning to end, I could not have been happier with 1st Heating and Cooling! I would (and will) recommend them to anyone I know and I will definitely use them again in the future. (I think my AC is also 23 years old, so it may be soon.) My thanks to that entire team!

The entire staff at 1st Heating and Cooling of Waterford were absolutely wonderful. The service and installation went without any issues and the crew who installed our unit were respectful and cleaned up after themselves thoroughly.

From my first panicked phone call to Ryan (owner), to Thomas the technician, Adam in Sales, and Eric and Stan doing the install, everything was outstanding. They were all professional and friendly, fast to return calls and get numbers to me, and the way it worked out, I had a new furnace within 24 hours. I highly recommend this company (and have to everyone I've talked to) and all that work there!

Furnace failed 2/23/19 during sub 20 degree temperatures. First company out of 8 that I called that was willing to send a service tech during weekend hours. Service tech arrived within a couple hours to verify that the furnace had a failed gas valve. Repair person provided the options to repair or replace and costs options available. He also informed me on what could be maintained and costs of replacement. The prior furnace was 14 years old. I also added an upgraded filter and humidifier due to prior research during home shows even though they could have been maintained. Monday they installed a new 80% Amana furnace, a Gen Mac 2000 filter, and AA #600M whole house humidifier. Furnace was working the same day. In house temp to 42 degrees and would have probably had to wait additional days for a furnace install if I called another company. Minor updates were needed to fix the furnace intake on Friday. Workers were all courteous and answered questions I had. All workers called before arrival and arrived on time. Post job research I found Amana furnaces have one of the best warantee at 10years. Also they have one of the best reliability ratings. Additional research shows a 90%+ furnace would have been less efficient overall to keep my house warm due to an old house needing additional updates. So my gut call to maintain an 80% furnace was the right choice. Will call again, hopefully, not too soon.

Ryan took my call and was able to help diagnose the issue over the phone. It turned out to be a faultly thermostat. He showed me a temp fix so that I could start the furnace and warm up the house while I obtain and install a replacement thermostat. He was very courteous and helpful. Compared to a prior experience with a different company (which are also on Angies’s List and rated as a top service provider), I was blown away by Ryan’s support. Even though he didn’t need to come out to my place, based on how he handled my situation, they’ve earned me as a loyal customer. Thank you once again Ryan for your help!

Absolutely loved working with 1st Heating & Cooling. We corresponded with Adam quite a bit and was incredibly friendly, helpful, prompt, knowledgeable, etc. Made the process so easy, and checked in on us after the job was done. The install went wonderfully. In and out within 6-8 hours and done well. Cleaned their mess up. Overall, great experience and would recommend to anyone.

My Hot Water Heater was not working when I got home from Work on Monday. I called 1st Heating and Cooling and they were at my house within 1 hour. After diagnosing the problem, it was determined that it needed to be replaced. They worked with me on Tuesday to determine what options I had to replace the HWH. On Wednesday they came back and removed the old hot water heater and installed a new Rinnai RUR199iN Tankless Hot Water Heater with the recirculating option to take advantage of the dedicated recirculating circuit that my home currently has and WiFi which integrates with my Amazon Alexa system. Wes, Tom and Cody were extremely professional and made sure everything was done as quickly and professionally as possible. I would highly recommend 1st Heating and Cooling for all your HVAC needs including Hot Water Heaters!

My home has 3 furnaces and 2 AC units for zoning purposes which were all about 17 years old. When trying to start them up in the fall all 3 units had issues and were unable to start. I called 1st Heating and Cooling and they came out right away to troubleshoot what the issues were. It was determined that two had faulty heat exchangers and one had a bad control module. After evaluating what the costs would be to replace all of the broken components on such old units, we decided to replace all 3 of the furnaces and at the same time also replace the 2 AC units. 1st Heating and Cooling sent out 3 teams of people to work on removing the old units and installing the new units. They did an amazing job of getting everything removed and installed in 1 day! Since installation they have come back a couple of times for fine tuning some of the settings on the units and have been fantastic to work with. I highly recommend 1st Heating and Cooling for their prompt and professional service.

This company was outstanding in all categories. I would recommend this company and their associates without any reservations.

The furnace was not working. Inspection showed problems with the gas valve and cracked heat exchanger. The furnace was 24 yeas old and parts were not available. Their recommendation was to replace the furnace with a new one with higher efficiency. This happened on Dec 6th, and it was low 30's. They replaced the furnace the very next day and heating was restored.
