Description of Work: Water powered back-up sump pump was installed by Dennis in Dec. 2015. He was on time and answered all my concerns. He did a great job with no mess. Having previously checked with many other companies, SAS was my choice and I would choose them again.

Description of Work: they waterproofed a portion of my basement wall. Put in a drain at garage doors. It took them multiple attempts to perform work properly. I was expecting metal drains. The used plastic ones that are now cracked. Shortly after work was complete the basement leaked again. They came out and performed injection molding into the area where the leaks were. Upon doing this they got injection. Mold on my new garage doors. And they threw excess cement on my yard. It took a significant amount of effort to have them come and look at the problem. They wanted to paint my new garage doors. I refused and demanded replacement panels. The owner finally agreed and the doors were repaired. I never received any responses agree that. Very unprofessional. Now 2 years after work was complete the cement is pealing off the floor and it looks like they just used skim. I have so much cement work that need to be done but will not use them and would not recommend them.

Description of Work: Only 3 days from phone call to appointment. Inspected my exposed basement walls and suggested that only the crack with water stains should be repaired. Work was completed in an hour and cleanup was very good. Repair has lasted the rest of thunderstorm season with no signs of leakage.

Description of Work: I knew of SAS from an estimate for basement waterproofing, which included additional pipe repairs and a new water heater. I really liked their authenticity and sincere dedication to their work. So when a basement pipe clogged and overflowed, I called SAS, they came out immediately and repaired the pipe for $100. I know that I will call them again in the future for small and large issues, especially for the inevitable waterproofing.

Description of Work: Plumbing: Replace iron pipe and drain in basement floor leading to street. Plumbers forgot to replace the original main drain in the center of the basement floor. Luckily, a second drain was installed near one corner of the basement. I was assured by the plumber and the following concrete work to repour the floor would pitch the new floor to the one remaining drain. Before the finish concrete work was done, I installed pex tubing to heat the basement floor. The new floor was poured...but about a month later water leaking from a bathroom upstairs seeped through the floor and pooled a large puddle right at the base of the stairs - nearly an inch deep and not moving anywhere near the one remaining drain in the floor. Since I hadn't finished paying for the job, the owner threatened to put a lien on my property. We finally came to a resolution where I paid for the job, less $500. I just needed to get them off my back and prevent any lien on my property. I would not use this firm for the PLUMBING or CONCRETE work. Period.

I requested an estimate from SAS construction for a tear off and replacement of a roof. The owner and a salesman showed up on time and were professional at first. They started off by showing pictures of homes they had replaced the roofs on and the results of their work. After going thru the pictures, and explaining their policy of refunding $500 back if the customer was able to find a better price with a different company (assuming job was quoted the same - which is totally subjective), I told them all I wanted was an estimate since I was evaluating a number of different roofing companies. The owner got very angry and stormed off to his truck because he told me I was wasting his time by not signing a contract with them. The salesman was relatively pleasant, so I don't know if they were trying to play "good cop, bad cop". Nevertheless, I threw out the estimate after witnessing the poor professionalism and immaturity shown by the owner.

They were on time and they cleaned up after themselves, that was cool. They were good at matching up the brick color because I have an odd colored house.
Description of Work: They took down my chimney to the roofline and rebuilt it. They also refaced the bricks on the front porch and fixed the mortar around the window frames.

I HAVE NOT PAID BECAUSE I WAS TOLD HE WOULD NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT THE AMOUNT I OWE. HE SAID IT WOULD BE A PARTIAL PAYMENT. MY PROPOSAL SAYS IT WOULD BE $4,438. I GAVE A DEPOSIT OF $50 & HAD A CHECK WRITTEN FOR $4,388. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE AN EXTRA $500. WHEN I SAID IS NOT WHAT I AGREED TO I WAS SENT A NEW INVOICE CHARGING $340 ON TOP OF THE $500. HE TOLD ME $80 WAS FOR PLYWOOD, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL. THE $260 WAS FOR EXTRA WORK. I HAD A FRIEND LOOK IN MY ATTIC WHERE A LOT OF EXTRA WOOD WAS USED. MY FRIEND SAW 12 EXTRA FEET OF NEW WOOD WHICH WOULD COST $24. STEVE IS CREATING $500 IN EXTRA COSTS THAT WAS NOT IN MY ORIGINAL PROPOSAL. WHEN THE ROOF WAS OPEN PICTURES WERE NOT TAKEN & THE CITY WAS NOT CALLED FOR AN OPEN ROOF INSPECTION. I DID OFFER TO PAY $100 OVER THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL TO COMPROMISE. THIS FEELS LIKE "LET'S MAKE A DEAL". I HAD 4 PROPOSALS TO COMPARE COSTS. I PICKED THE WRONG COMPANY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE DO BUSINESS SO UNPROFESSIONALLY.
Description of Work: I HAD A NEW ROOF PUT ON MY HOME IN AUGUST. REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE ROOF. THE ROOF LOOKS GREAT. THE ROOFING CREW JUST FINE. THE SALESMAN WROTE A PROPOSAL. I ASKED HIM THIS WAS THE COST AND HE SAID YES. I SHOWED HIM 3 OTHER PROPOSALS WITH RANGE OF COST, HE SAID "WE DON'T DO THAT." I ASKED HIM TO SIGN THE PROPOSAL AND HE DID. THE CLEAN UP WAS FINE. I ASKED TO PAY THE MAN THE WHO WAS THE HEAD OF THE CREW AND HE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $500 MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL FOR WOOD USED. HE CALLED THE SALESMAN WHO PROMPTLY CAME OUT & TOLD ME HE WAS NOT PAYING THE EXTRA $500. HE GAVE ME THE NAME OF THE OWNER WHO I MET WITH A FEW DAYS LATER. HE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND SAID I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED MORE THAN $500 FOR WOOD THAT WAS USED. I SHOWED HIM MY OTHER 3 PROPOSALS SO HE COULD SEE HOW OTHER PROPOSALS ARE WRITTEN AND HOW HIS PROPOSAL IS NOT CLEAR THERE WOULD BE AN EXTRA COST. I WAS HOPING TO FIND A COMPROMISE BUT HE SAID HE WOULD PUT A LIEN ON MY HOME IF I DID NOT PAY. I HAVE NOT PAID HIM.

Response from SAS Services Inc
On July 26, 2006 S.A.S. Construction was contracted by the member to replace her roof. She signed a contract with our company. The work was performed to the customer's satisfaction and while our installer was still on the job, he informed her of all the rotten wood that had been replaced and informed her that the additional cost would approximately be $500.00. After the installer brought in his specs from the job and after the material company informed us of what materials were needed, we then billed her accordingly. The pricing of the additional wood is noted on her contract under "Special Instructions." The member has not paid us for any of the work that was done. She has a balance due of $5228.00. She asked for a compromise so we then offered her a discount on the wood of $340.00 to honor the verbal estimation of $500.00 our installer originally gave her. We want to resolve this matter immediately. We have tried to compromise with the customer but she is not willing to pay more than $100.00 for the $840.00 worth of wood that was replaced. After speaking with her again, we then offered an additional $100.00 discount to bring the wood replacement down to $400.00. Steve A. Safie, President
