 + -1 moreChris came out earlier than I expected (which was great) and very quickly got to work installing a new circuit and wall outlet for our space heater. On the phone I was quoted about 1.5 hours to complete the job, but he completed it in 45 minutes! He made sure to vacuum all the areas where he had to drill in the wall and overhead beams. In addition, he took care to make sure the outlet was installed the same distance from the floor as the other outlets in the room. This seems like a small thing but many people might not think of that. He was very professional, courteous and fast! Chris does not handle the billing or taking of money so I am still waiting for a bill, but the price I was quoted on the phone seems accurate and fair to me. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again.

 + -1 moreChris did an excellent job. Quite pleasant, quick & efficient. The work area was left clean. I am very pleased with the work completed. I believe that I miscommunicated my needs when the estimate was drawn up & was quite surprised to find 16 outlets along the workshop area. I meant to say that I needed to plug in 4 items - not 4 (quad) outlets. I hate to know how much I overpaid because of my miscommunication. But I do consider it entirely my error - not that of Rader Electric or Chris. Lesson learned if I should ever need any more outlets installed (I can't imagine I would - there's 16!)

 + -1 moreShel was very professional during our walkthrough. He did not charge me a service fee to come out and diagnose what needed to be fixed. But when the invoice came with the prices, I felt he was unreasonably high. He also informed me that he could not get to my home for several weeks. Maybe that's why? If prices came down, I would use him. He seemed very knowledgable.
Description of Work: Shel quoted me $2300 for the below. After several quotes from other reputable electricians on Angie's List, he was the highest by more than $600. And that's not based off the lowest quote, I received. Everyone else I had come through the house came back with a fee of roughly $1700 for all the work. Take a look at below and judge for yourself. 3 ground outlet in each room of the first floor 2 ground outlets in kitchen2 Add GFCI outlet - device only in kitchen1 relocate wiring in duct work (it's leading up to the kitchen currently through the duct work in the unfinished side of the basement, and is actually the wiring of one of the kitchen outlets that needs replacing). 1 BLT in appliance outlet & circ. sump pump / GFCI (by code the sump pump needs to run on its own circuit and GFCI, but it's currently on an ungrounded shared circuit) 20-25 Replace painted outlets throughout home 1 Bond gas line at hot water tank1 Repair open splices and wires running below joists in basement (there's an open box, nothing huge) 1 paddle fan opening remodel in living room with wall switch 1 Fan speed control install

 + -1 moreThe President Mr. Rader came out himself and walked me through what needed to be done. He even helped me to decide what type of generator to use, and advised me in the way to get the most out of it. He was especially took a lot of time explaining how to make sure it would operate safely. The work and wiring were really well done with a lot of craftsmanship involved - even in the areas which no one would normally see. I have no idea how they were able to run the wire out to my garage without tearing into my finished basement ceiling, but they did. Left me house cleaner than the found it! Great job and I'll definitely use them again next time a major electrical project comes up.
Description of Work: Provided and installed manual transfer service for a portable generator. Included a 25 foot cord set and 12 circuit panel. Great service, and very fast.

Description of Work: Installation of 110v electrical outlet to accommodate electrical requirements for new gas range, which replaced an electric range. Prior to work, only a 220 connection was installed. New outlet installed, and connected to an existing junction box in basement.

I have worked with this company, previously, and have been very pleased with their work and plan to use them for future projects, including circuit box replacement and repair, and updating of other electrical needs in my home. I have recommended them to friends. I have worked with the same electrician on the occasions that I have called the company. He works in an organized method and is highly knowledgeable. His advice is helpful in planning future projects and is always welcome to make my shopping trips more productive and economical. My home needs plenty of TLC in many areas for its age and dire needs for updating of systems. I truly appreciate finding a trusted company to help me accomplish the process in an efficient and wallet friendly manner.
Description of Work: My service call included a list of repairs that ranged from diagnosing and replacing a faulty ceiling lamp (it spewed sparks the last time I tried to change a light bulb-definitely not a safe situation), in a shower stall to replacing electrical outlets that needed to be brought up to code and replacing several light fixtures that either were not working, or were just plain ugly and old. He replaced several outlets, near sinks with proper, code required, grounded outlets. He also replaced several wall outlets that were not stable and/or would not hold a cord plug unless you taped it in (not too safe). The process took a bit less than 3 hours to accomplish all the tasks on the list. I consulted with him regarding my next shopping list for the next visit to replace fixtures in my kitchen, with new lights and a ceiling fan. He provided valuable advice to save me from purchasing the wrong items and no doubt, will be a money saver at the register. During this service call, the electrician was alerted to a more serious problem with my electrical system in this 40+ year old house, and he checked and assessed my circuit breaker box and my electrical needs in this home. He discussed replacement of the present circuit box with a new, properly rated box that is new code compliant, for future consideration. All of the work was performed in a professional manner with clean up, etc.

The owner of the business was the one who made the initial inspection and estimate of charges and was very knowledgable about building codes, older home fixtures and was open with suggestions about what kinds of things I was talking about doing and which ones didn't need to be done to meet code and my needs. Very pleasant and efficient people. One month later I am tickled pink with everything they did.
Description of Work: Had multiple old electrical outlets replaced, some grounded outlets installed, a whole house surge protector installed, and 3 ceiling fans wired to a variable speed/light level switch on the wall (as they replaced 2 of the fans with ones I had purchased elsewhere).
