In addition to Shel's expertise and quick solutioning, I was particularly impressed with his professionalism and follow up skills to ensure the issue was brought to closure (and at no charge) in a timely manner. I would definitely call this company again and highly recommend it to others.

We were fortunate to have had Shel recommended to us 18 years ago when we purchased our present home. Over the many years of service that he and Chris have provided us with we have been extremely satisfied. They have done everything from installing and wiring a whole house generator to putting up fragile light fixtures, to changing out old recessed lighting, outlets and switches.

Mr. Rader did not show. He did not call to explain his absence or set a different time/date.

Excellent job! Shel Radar came to my home and provided an estimate within an hour after we talked to each other. He is very knowledgeable and offered recommendations regarding the scope of the work. Chris performed the work and arrived on-time. He was professional and thoroughly cleaned-up after he completed the job. Shel Radar arranged for the inspection from the city. Additionally, he contacted the city the day of the inspection to get a time estimate so I did not have wait around all day. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Electricians arrived on time. Work was done efficiently and clean up was good, especially after having to drill and cut through brick for the outlets.

Shel not only knows the electrical side of things, but he was also able and willing to help with permit issues that I had. Rader Electric did everything on schedule on budget. They also helped to come up with low cost solutions to problems that were discovered along the way.

Radar Electric did an outstanding job at my son's house in Novi. I highly recommend them. Would definitely use them again.

I hired Shel Rader to help me with a very large project; installing a heated driveway. I chose Rader based solely on their reviews here on Angiel's List. Shel admitted that he had never done a heated driveway before, but I was confident that he was the man for the job. He came over to assess what needed to be done, and promptly gave me an estimate. The work took over 3 full days to complete, spread out over a month's time due to the multiple stages of the installation. Throughout this time, he stayed in contact with me via phone and especially email, which I found very convenient. He even came over during the pouring of the concrete and helped me test out the system for free after it was completed. He is an excellent electrician, and takes pride in the quality of his work. The whole experience was for me a true testament to how useful Angie's List is for finding trustworthy and reliable contractors. I will surely be using him again in the future.

Things went very well. All of the work was completed in 4 1/2 hours. The electrician was very friendly and approachable.

My husband called Rader Electric Co Inc and they came out later that day. He was very nice and went out of his way to check and explain everything to us. We had a tree branch fall and broke the neutral line to the house. We had surge protectors throughout the house which had to be replaced but they did protect our electronics. Again the gentleman was very knowledgeable and was pleasant to work with. We are going to have the whole house surge protected after this.

I've dealt with Shel Rader since we moved into this house 24 years ago. He and Chris have always done excellent work. I feel that their charges are competitive. They have never let us down.

Incredibly fast, he came same day I called and was here within 2 hours. He spent 20 minutes fixing our light. My only concern was with the high bill--$72 service call plus $85 for minimum one hour labor plus $9.50 for the part. I should have asked about charges before, this seems very high to me.

1st appt. missed due to short handed staffing but called to reschedule (unfortunately had already taken day off from work). Arrived on time for rescheduled appt & performed all work requested. Very professional.

They were there on time and covered all areas before starting. They completed the work in the estimated time and did a full clean up before leaving.

We've never had a better experience with a contractor - ever. We recently sold our home & have been wrangling with the buyers over a few inspection items. I contacted Shel to help us out & he had Chris here in our home the very same day. His quick response & great work help save the deal to sell our home. I can't recommend this company strongly enough. I contacted this company as well as many others to help me with some permit issues. I have been working with the city on the issues and they are completely up to speed with what has happened with the situation and even admitted it was their fault. Upon their recommendation, I started contacting companies to try and help me with the situation. This company responded with a very nasty email basically threatening me and claiming that I am doing work illegaly in numerous ways and I can get in trouble from the State of Michigan. I did not explain everything in the email because I felt it would be easier in person or over the phone. But I wasn't even given that opportunity from this company. Here is a sentence from the email, quoted: "I am a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and a member of our Reciprocal Electrical Council" and goes on to tell me more laws. I chose to contact this company because of all the GOOD reviews. I ASSUMED with the background they had, they could help me! Even if they apologized at this point, I still wouldn't use them for anything now.

Prompt return call on initial contact. Chris arrived on time. The reason for the call turned out to be a minor socket repair...in addition to the service call and hourly charge was also charged $3.00 for a .74 socket/switch cover, however I was able to use the service call to get a timer installed for my garage lights which I am very pleased about.

Very well. SHel recommended ways I could save money and did not sell me unnecessary services. The work was performed promptly and exactly as requested. The company was very easy to contact, always returned my calls quickly. I would highly recommend the company, and I do plan on using them again.

I joined Angie's List to find a qualified electrician for the 1960's home we are trying to redo. Best decision I have made yet!! Shel Rader returned my call the morning after I called and our meeting was professional and very educational. I explained what we planned and he asked very good questions about what electrical and computer "stuff" we were planning on using. He was extremely honest and forthright and made great suggestions He rapidly responded to additions my husband and I came up with after the initial quote and work started two days later. It was a big job that took two and a half days and we are pleased. We will definitely call again as we redo even more and will highly recommend him; especially to our new neighbor who has a real estate company.
