I was very happy with the work that was done and the gentleman who did the work was very nice. I was not home when the work was done, so I cannot comment on the work that was done from start to finish. I would recommend D.L. Gardner Construction for masonry work.

I called them because I noticed cracks on the exterior of the chimney. They came to look at the chimney and left an estimate. One estimate was for a repair of the chimney and another was for replacement. Because I had a ceiling leak in the area under the chimney I opted for a full replacement. I called to set-up a time to get the work done but they could not schedule a work date when I called. They asked that I call back in a few weeks to set-up a time. I did call them back and they came to perform the work a few weeks after that. I wasn't home when the work was done so I just have to assume that they did a good job. Unfortunately they did not leave a description of the work that was performed. I called back and asked about this and he said for me to just look at the estimate. I wasn't pleased with this response. I can't fairly grade this company now. It's best that I wait until the spring to see if I still have a leak.

Over all the job went very well. I am 100% satisfied with the contractor's work and professionalism. He repaired all of the mortor joints as outlined along with replacement of all of the brick mentioned. He even noticed a few spots after the initial review and took care of the repairs to those areas as we did a review of the work. In this case the brick for my home was no longer made. What we decided to do was to replace brick on the visible areas of the home with the same brick in the back puting the new bricks back there so they would not deter from the look of the brick on the front or sides of the home. I had requested some extra brick as well. Due to the extra time he had to take researching the brick he came up with as close a match as he could. I did pay him extra for this as it added much more time then he or I originally expected. The contracter is very professional and he cleans up after his work. He is very detail oriented and a perfectionist. I would recommend this contractor to anyone who needs masonry work performed.

Dennis completed the patio in a timely and professional manner and the price was reasonable.

I contacted Dennis Gardner by phone. He stopped by when no one was home but left me a detailed quote. I authorized the work by phone. Based on the feedback in Angie's list I did not even get any other quotes. He said it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get it done. But, he did it in about 1 week. He called the day before the work to confirm that it was OK. He did the work in one day, again while no one was home. While he was here my neighbor had him do some work on his porch. My neighbor was happy with the work too. Overall, he did a good job when he said he would at a fair price. If I need any more brick work I would call him. He honored his 10% Angie List coupon.

Replied to phone call, provided estimate and started/finished job all on a timely basis. Since he worked until dark, it was easy to miss one spot on the chimney which required some additional mortar clean-up. When called about this, he promised to fix it shortly... and kept his promise within a matter of days. He was very pleasant to work, knowledgable, experienced, explained what needed to be done, answered questions fully, and did very good work at a competitive price. Highly recommended!

Overall satisfied with work done on both chimneys. Work was done as specified in the proposal. Piece of mortar fell during work and tore a window screen. Company flagged it and reduced price of job to factor in the cost of replacing the screen. I think that was very good on their part to own up and compensate for the issue. I had asked them to check for any other cracks in the brickwork that could be fixed/touched up while they were on-site. Not sure they did a due diligence on the rest of the brickwork. Would have been happy to pay a little extra and get other minor fixes done while they were on-site. Would definitely use them again.

The estimate was free of cost. We had a good experience with them. They were prompt in coming out to give us the estimate. We haven’t made a decision yet on which company we’re going to hire. We will use their services again in the future.

Everything went great. He was quick and clean. Price was great compared to what I have payed a previous contractor for similar work.

My husband and I chose this company based on Angies list.We phoned for an estimate and Dennis came out within a couple days of the call.He came out about 2 weeks later to do the work and called to let us know beforehand exactly what day and time.He arrived as stated and started the work. He cleaned up all the concrete block and brick,even blew debris off my driveway.His work is very professional and neat.I would hire this company again should I need any masonary work done in the future!

I thought that he was excellent. His price was a little bit high but I think the scope of his masonry work would have been excellent. I needed masonry plus some other things to be done so I didn't think he'd be able to provide that. If it was just masonry work, I would totally recommend him. I needed a little bit of roofing work along with the masonry as well as a furnace aluminum pipe going down the chimney. I would consider him more of just a mason.

I tried for a 10 days to even get anyone to give me an estimate. No luck. I joined Angies list, got some names and had estimates within a couple days. All were close but Garners included some detail work some others said I'd have to sub out. which would have increased cost. They showed me some brick samples to approve before they got started, showed up when promised, got the work done in a day, and left the area spotless.

He did a very nice job. The price was pretty reasonable. He is a nice guy. He cleaned up well. His work is good. It has held up so far. It has been two or three years. I would use them again in the future.

He was a lot more reasonable than any of the other quotes. He was efficient, quick and got the job done. There was no hassle. He does good work and it’s a small company; so not a lot of overhead and he gets the time and is affordable.

I contracted D.L.Gardner Construction to perform masonary "tuck pointing" on my house. We walked the exterior together, while I pointed out the areas that needed addressing. I was given a written quote, which included a frim price, all materials and full clean and haul away of debrie. I was away at work when Mr Gardner performed his work. The job was beautiful, and the site was extremely well cleaned. He even addressed an area we did not discuss, but he noticed. There was not additional charges from his quote. I would recommend him, and use him again. Extremely satisfied!

I had a problem with a leaking chimney - we had other service providers try and address the problem, and they cited issues with the flashing... however, the problem persisted. I am afraid of heights so didn't go on the roof itself, but was led to believe it had a concrete cap. I called Dennis for help... on inspection, Dennis noted that it was not a concrete cap - however, he identified the problem (cracking tar on top of chimney from previous repair effort) and offered to fix it that afternoon (the purpose of the visit was to give me an estimate). We agreed on a price, and Dennis went to a local store to buy the necessary suppliers, and finished the repair within the hour. Since his visit, we no longer have a leaky chimney! We appreciated Dennis' punctuality, honesty and flexibility.

It went wonderfully. He was very nice and very cooperative. He was a good worker. He did what he said he was going to do in the time span of when he said he was going to do it. He explained everything. He also was the lowest estimate of 3 that I obtained.

His cost estimate came in two hundred less than another estimate I got. He was also able to come and do the repairs right away. He was flexible with payment as well. I was able to pay him after the work was done. He matched the foundry brick and spent a lot of time doing so.

He was very prompt and did a good job. His price was quite reasonable compared to others.

He worked alone for four days and was efficient and thorough. Site clean up was as promised. Dennis is very professional and I trusted his opinion. I received other quotes from two other companies, one higher and one lower. I am completely satisfied with the work of Dennis Gardner and strongly recommend him.

Excellent work and we felt that he is very honest. He took pictures of the new chimney cap to allow us to inspect the job. We will have him back to replace bricks soon.

The work done by them was very good and I would recommend them. The guy who came out was very professional and was quick. He did a really great job. I thought that the price was reasonable. I had asked around a little bit in order to compare the prices. It was worth it for the work that he did. So you get what you pay for. I had an inspection set up for 9 o?clock but he came and first dug the rat wall. I had an inspection at 9 the following day and he was here at 9:30 to pour it. So he was incredibly punctual. I would use his services again.

Mr. Gardner was punctual, knowledgeable and polite. He was the first person to fix a problem we've had for years by installing a rain diverter. We recommend him highly.

Very professional job. Dennis worked from morning till evening without breaks. It was a very messy job and when he was finished all debris had been removed and the concrete dust had been hosed off. He did an excellent job matching the new brick to the old. It was a pleasure to have someone take such pride in his work.
