On installation day, a team of 2 men showed up at 11 am. We asked if they would complete the job in one day as promised and were assured they would. The head installer seemed competent but the other guy was inexperienced. They forgot to bring a vacuum and asked to use ours. We said OK... BIG MISTAKE. By the time they got done at 10:30 pm the vacuum was broken. They were obviously exhausted by the time they were done and in a hurry to leave. The 3 rooms looked pretty good but we did not look closely at the last part of the job, the stairway and upstairs hallroom until after they left. What a huge mess... carpet scraps and fibers all over, a door left off the hinges and the broken vacuum cleaner. The 2nd guy had done this part of the job and it was obvious he was a beginner, the stairs were done sloppy, and he did not tell us the vacuum wasn't working. We also discovered a dent on the dining room table that wasn't there previously. We did call customer service and they credited us $100 towards the vacuum repair and $50 to fix the dent. In summary: #1, Carpet Guys should have sent a team of at least 3 for the size of the job, #2, they should have started earlier in the morning, and #3, they should have brought their own vacuum (even if they forgot, they should have stopped on the way and bought one). Incidentally, these guys didn't bring any water or food, so we supplied beverages throughout the day and sandwiches for lunch rather than have them leave for breaks (there are no close restaurants) and we also sent dinner home with them because we felt sorry for them! We will not be using Carpet Guys again.

What a time waster. Very deceptive sales practices. Never told us the price per square foot or square yard for the carpet, or pad, for that matter. No measurements were listed on our quote (?), no price for pad, labor, etc. How do I know what I'm quoted for if I don't have variables X (price per yard of carpet/pad), Y (price for labor), and Z (size of area quoted). Also note that they DO NOT haul off carpet for free...like Home Depot and Lowe's do. I'm very disappointed in this vendor.

Overall I would say I am satisfied with the job that was done. The carpet installers really worked very very hard and did not take a break all day. It was a big job and they worked from 8:30 am until close to 6 pm. I was informed by the salesman it would be a 3 day job but the carpet layers did it in one. There were 2 main issues that kept me from giving them an "A" rating. The first was a tactic the sales rep did that my wife and I really thought was shady. We were the last appointment he had for the day and per his words he was given an intensive of $500 for anyone who could close all their deals for the day. That's fine...I am all for motivational tools. He had already closed 3 of his previous deals and then came ours which was a big order. My wife and I already knew that if the price was fair we were going to purchase to make things easy on ourselves. He presented us with many options and listened to what we wanted. We found a carpet we liked and the price was fair. He then made sure they had the carpet in stock...all those things were good. However, when he asked us when we wanted to do the install we stated we were in no hurry and were flexible. I advised him I had the next weekend off or it would have to wait another two weeks until I had another weekend off. After we made the agreement to purchase and signed the paperwork he put a sticker on it and stated it was because it was a "RUSH ORDER" which means we could not cancel......excuse me what???? We did not call him on it because we knew we were purchasing but the fact that he did that was really shady...We were not rushing anything. In fact, we told him we were flexible. What it really seemed like was the man wanted his $500 bonus and did not want us cancelling on him. In other areas, we appreciated him listening to what we wanted and not trying to sell us things we were not interested in. They also offered a variety of discounts that were very nice. The fact that they come to your house is a bonus especially if you get overwhelmed by all the choices carpet stores have to offer. The second thing that bothered me is that I had to discard of the old carpeting myself. This was a pretty large project and my city only takes 12 rolls of carpet per trash day. Other companies like Home Depot do offer to take your old carpet for free. The Carpet Guys had more pluses than Home Depot so I dealt with it but it would be a nice option especially for bigger jobs. As it is now my garage is going to filled with old carpeting for a long time. On the plus side, the carpet installers cut the carpeting up into nice 3 foot rolls and tied them up so they comply with most trash services. Again, overall I had a very good experience with The Carpet Guys. You can find a carpet within just about any price point you are looking for. The installation was great and they moved a lot of furniture around for me.

The Carpet Guys were great- easy sales process, helpful and non pushy sales person and excellent installation. Everything went spot on to what was planned. Very satisfied.

Well, I had all small items removed and they were neat about setting large furniture places where I could still move around. Put everything back and cleaned up behind themselves. Wonderful! David Hunt and Brandon Mirling were polite and easy going, made having them in my house feel comfortable.

The installers skillfully cut and installed the sub flooring and vinyl to minimize the split lines. Care was given to make sure everything was correct. It was impressive to see how the pre-cut vinyl was unrolled and fit into a house with many alcoves and doorways to deal with. A bubble was found later, and after a call, David Hunt (the original installer) came right out and fixed it. The stairway and landing carpeting was installed resulting in a very good look and excellent feel under our feet. The experience is best summed up by, we will be buying carpet in 2017 for more rooms of the house and we know who we will be dealing with, Carpet Guys.

We were thrilled! They were very patient with us when we had to reschedule several times because our bad kitchen contractor ran late. The quality of the flooring was perfect. The installers were very professional. Maz, the salesman, was very enthusiastic. Maz made a couple of trips out here and helped us make the right choice. We chose a wood laminate. We realized after we bought the floor that the hallway under the linoleum was not hardwood. The Carpet Guys found extra flooring for us, and a woman in the office drove to Flint to get it. The installers also cheerfully put in the moldings that had come with our cabinets, rather than the ones we bought with the floor. When we realized that the trash service in Sterling Heights would not take the old floor (due to sharp projections and size), we asked theCarprt Guys to quote us to haul it away. It was $230 and we should have bought that up front. They took it on the second day of the service. The only work that remains to be done is the installation of metal caps (stair nose) where the stairs and the drop to the family room are. Those are minor. The only thing the company could have done better was dust sweeping, but that was minor. We loved the work, courtesy, quality, and great customer service. The communication was excellent. We would hire them again for any floor.

A nightmare crew. We prepaid over $9000.00 for an entire hose of carpet and laminate flooring only to have the head of the installation crew inform us he wouldn't stain the moldings for the laminate floors. After we told and showed him the contract showing we paid for this service, he started arguing with us and told us we could do it ourselves. At this point my husband had to take off work because I was afraid of this guy. We did call the company and they did inform this guy he had to do the job, I was given numerous dirty looks and even got a plugged toilet as a bonus without being informed! So, if you are looking for some cheap carpet installed with a an attitude and a clogged toilet to boot, then the carpet guys are for you.

They provide quality carpet and did great custom work on the stairway. They were very professional, helpful, and cleaned up after themselves.

The Carpet Guys were great to work with. The three main team members we interacted with (our sales guy and the two main installers) were absolutely wonderful. They were patient with us but worked quickly and efficiently as much as possible. They took great care with our home, our pets, and to ensure the home was spotless when they left. They did everything possible to ensure we were as minimally impacted as possible by having them in our home for 3 full days and were extremely pleasant to be around. I unfortunately cannot remember their two names but, their work and them in general were impeccable. The only issues we had were when communicating with the communications/scheduling team in the main office. Our salesman was over an hour late for the allotted window (he was wonderful once he arrived) which caused us to miss even more work and reschedule another appointment. Then, we were told when we scheduled our installation date that they would be there Monday-Tuesday doing the work. I even confirmed this via phone and e-mail in the days leading up to the scheduled install because we never received a confirmation. They said this was correct. Then, towards the end of the 2nd day, they came to ask about when they should come the next day. It turns out, they had been told they had 4 days to do the install and we were told it would take 2. They were able to get it done in 3 days, but again we missed an entire extra day of work we hadn't planned for because of this. I would absolutely work with this company again and they have top-notch people on the ground. I would just be extremely overly communicative when scheduling and get times and dates in writing as this was an issue we had twice.

The Pros... they were very responsive, and were able to come out very quickly to provide a consultation. The other nice thing about them was the design consultant. He was very punctual, nice and polite. The Cons... I want hardwood or engineered hardwood installed. They proceeded to first tell me that they couldn't do it, and that they never do work on stairs (what?!). When I told the rep that the stairs had to be done, so if they couldn't do them, I would need to work with someone else, the rep proceeded to call his office to ask if they could do them. First thing the woman he called then said was that they would have to "measure around the spindles" which would be a lot of work. When I told them that other companies that quoted me were going to remove the spindles and then put them back on after the flooring was installed, they told me it wouldn't be ideal with a floating floor. I then told them I wanted the floor nailed or glued down, given my large rooms that a floating floor would not be ideal (not sure why I was having to tell them that if they were experts). Then they started to tell me that that wood can't "breathe" on stairs. After hearing this third excuse, it was obvious that working with them was not going to be a viable solution. They either were not going to do my stairs, or really had no idea how to do them. Either way, it was a deal breaker, and they ended up losing a very big flooring job as a result.

It went great! I had second thoughts about the color I chose, so I stopped in at the showroom. They were so accommodating and took their time to show me other options. In the end, I was confident with my original choice and it looks great. The install guys were fantastic too! They did a quality job... very professional. I definitely recommend The Carpet Guys!

The installation went very well. Good craftsmanship.

The salesman was a little pushy, he wanted me to put down a deposit immediately but I insisted on waiting to make my decision. The installers were great. They showed up on time, removed the old carpet and installed the new carpet quickly and efficiently. When they were done, they cleaned up everything. Very polite and hard working crew.

The installers were great got it done in 2 days. They kept every thing picked up. was neat and tidy.

The salesperson was great. The person who installed our flooring was an artist. When the measuring was done, they didn't order enough of the special nose piece required for kitchen floor transition to family room. We have a 70s house with a step down into the family room, and it's tricky because of the shape of the nose and the presence of an air vent. The floor itself looked great, and we loved it. We were unhappy w/the nose piece installation when it came in a couple of weeks later, but they eventually fixed it.

David Hunt and Brandon Mirling were the installers for my 1100 sq ft. living room, etc. laminate floor. These guys were the best, very meticulous and efficient. Thanks to both and The Carpet Guys LLC Salesman, John, for my beautiful floor !!

The sales person, Tara, was very pleasant, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Carpet installers Marcus & Nick were very professional and polite. They arrived and went to work immediately carefully moving my furniture out, removed the old carpet, cut it into sections, tied it into bundles and put it on the curb for garbage pickup. They laid the new padding, new edging and custom cut & seamed 3 doorways. After installing the new carpet they cleaned up, replaced the furniture and were on there way to the next job. Thank you Marcus & Nick for a job well done.

I felt like I was dealing with a used cars salesman the price went down to over half of the original quote after he called the office three different times Told us we needed to sign that day to get the deal otherwise he'd have to come back out and he was so busy

The Carpet Guys started my laminate floors September 9th and finished everything on September 10th, including a last minute add on of brand new carpet in all three bedrooms. The laminate is perfect for anyone with pets. Their job is very neat, staff was very professional, and they moved all of my furniture including a new couch into my living room for me. I can't believe they got it all done so quick. By the time I got home Friday evening from work I had a whole house with brand new floors and all in two days. I could not be happier with choosing The Carpet Guys and will continue to recommend them to all my friends and family.

The installers, Dave Hunt and Brandon Mirling were amazing. Parts of the subflooring needed replacing before new flooring could be installed. They measured the area, told me what to purchase for the next day, and repaired the damaged area so the new flooring could be installed. They worked meticulously - paying attention to detail, avoiding damage to my home(removing the old flooring carefully, stacking the waste, carefully staining outside, cleaning up each day, etc.). It was extremely hot, but Dave and Brandon were hard working until each day's work goals were complete. Well mannered and respectful, well as skilled craftsmen.
