JOB WAS DONE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND FINISHED ON TIME

On price, I'd have to say an A. He's the only quote I got. I was surprised by the quote, actually. I thought it would be more. I was told by the housing inspector when I bought this house that it would be more. On punctuality, A; he was a cool guy. He'll be doing my gutters from now on, I think. I think the gutter cleaning service cost was $150. I don't remember off the top of my head.

They advertise periodically in the magazine. They did a fine job. Their price was excellent. I had several quotes. They were the cheapest, and they did a fine job. They had to delay it, they had a limited crew or something. Maybe that wasn't their fault but they didn't get here when they were suppose to. Unfortunately, the delay caused them to be putting my roof on one day in the rain. If they would have done it when they were supposed to it would of been on time and not have to work in that weather. That is not under their control with the crews availability or whatever. That was a little disappointing but they got it done right, so it's okay. They were professional people.

Jim came out and provided an estimate. He was very friendly and helpful. The quote was competitive and the work was done quickly and cleanly. A few weeks after the install we had a heavy rain and I noticed a portion of the new gutters was overflowing. I called Jim and he had someone come out right away and install a splash guard for me, no charge. Problem solved. I would definitely recommend Richards Roofing. A company that stands behind their work like that is hard to find.

It was efficient and it seems to be good. My only issues, why I wouldn't give them an A across the board, was communications. We didn't know they were coming on either day. They just showed up. We heard people on our roof at 6:30 in the morning. We called them last Mon and said yes we want to go ahead with the job based on the estimate. They said they were gonna go in on Tues and schedule it and we assumed they would call us and tell us when it was scheduled for. Nobody called and they just showed up both days.

Great, we handled everything over the phone, They color matched the shingles to my existing roof and replaced the missing shingles.

Richards did an excellent job with the roofing. They were very polite, patient, and answered any questions I had. I would give them an A+ and would use Richards Roofing again in the future.

Did a great job. Was willing to change the way he did the edge to suit me. Worked quickly yet thoroughly.

Terribly. The price they quoted was lower than most, which should have been my first incling that something was off. It was a discounted price for off-season so I didn't think too much about it. However, I wanted to make sure they would do the job and take care of my perennial plants in front of the house. Especially since it was winter and the plants are sensitive during dormancy I made certain to stress this fact during all aspects of the process: quote, measurements, scheduling, and several times during the day before they had begun work. The requests were completely ignored and debris was cast off the roof directly onto all of the plants, even after discussing this with several members of the crew and the foreman, significantly damaging all of them. I ended up spending 2 hours of my own time cleaning up the front yard because I didn't trust them to not completely destroy the plants in the process. This they took some off of the bill for the time I spent cleaning but again the plants were damaged significantly and my wishes were ignored. The crew had very little respect for my house or property. Further, my neighbors house was damaged several times by falling tools and other sloppy work and very little was done to protect the neighbors' houses during the set up and execution of the job. Richard's roof did end up paying a contractor to fix the neighbors siding but the siding was not a color match and the contractor disregarded and unhooked some utility cables that ran though that area of the siding without reattaching and hooking them back up upon completion of the siding repair. Lastly within 3 months of the job completion I had significant shingle loss and damage during a storm, which is covered under the warranty but really does not inspire confidence in the quality of the craftmanship long term. I will not endorse this contractor, I wish I had gone with someone else. The whole process left me shaken and untrusting of Angie's List recommendations, the two day job was extremely anxiety inducing and I urge others to choose another contractor.

So far so good. It was a very low key estimate as apposed to other estimates i had. It was knowledgeable and wasn't hard sell. He was very responsive, the work was done on time and it was good. It was also a very good price.

Very well, would hire again and have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

Prompt response in providing estimate. Helpful in selecting products. Work was scheduled in a timely manner and clean-up was excellent.

It ended up getting delayed a bit because the shingles didn?t come in, and the weather didn?t cooperate. They ended up getting everything taken care of, and asked me to let them know if there are any issues that result from it. I also needed some extra work done on my gutters, which they subcontracted out; but everything went fine. They were a little sloppy covering everything during the storms, but it all looks fine so far. Jim wrote the estimate over a year ago, and was willing to honor it. His handout was fantastic, with references I could call. I had gotten about 3 other estimates who were much higher, but I chose Jim. I would recommend him to anyone.

Jim and his crew did an excellent job. Very professional from the extimate through clean up. I would recommend Richard's Roofing to friends and family.

They were very prompt installing the roof. However, calls to them to come out for minor adjustments are not as timely. It took three months, after installation, for them to come out and take care of nails and shingles that were popping up. There was a dip over the garage that needed to be taken care of but could not since it was hot and the shingles were stuck together. Was told someone would be out the following Tuesday morning when it was cooler. This was in July. We waited with no results. Calls continue to go to voice mail and we wait for a return call. Will call again today in hopes that the dip on our garage will be fixed before winter.

I bought all the materials for them to work on this besides the nails. Their workers took the extra Weathershield box that was unused ($50 a box and returnable), my large $70 tarp covering the roof, and left the yard a mess afterward. The job was done fairly, but looked rushed in a lot of spots. I wish it would have worked out better because he was a nice guy, but I felt swindled after because of what I mentioned above.

Jim and his crew were fast and friendly did the job and one day very satisfied. They also had a little room left in the trailer special thanks to Sean for getting rid of that extra garage garbage for me.

Richards Roofing was fantastic! I called in the morning for a quote and Jim was at the house by noon. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and did not give me a half-hour high pressure sales pitch like Hansons did. And, the price he quoted was half the cost of Hansons. I went ahead with the work and they were onsite two days later. They started early in the morning and stayed till 6 PM to knock out the work in one day. Additionally, I was not charged any extra for replacement boards that were badly needed on my garage. Jim went the extra mile to make sure it was done right. They cleaned everything up and hauled away all the debris. The roof looks great! Could not be happier with their work. I highly recommend Richards Roofing.

These guys were great, right up to the point until AFTER I PAID THEM. As part of the job, they were to replace my bathroom vents 4" originally with 6" vents. I was to take care of anything with the fans and the duct work to connect to the collars on the new vents. The problem was that they didn't change the vents on the last day (2nd day) (looked like my old vents) even after I told one of their crew members. I called and spoke with Jim, who stated that the supplier delivered the vents and all would be fixed on Monday. I said ok (these things do actually happen), and then he called on early next week to state that vents were done and to collect payment. I gave him my CC info over the phone (as I was out of town) and trusted that they put the correct vents in. I went to hook up the 6" flex duct to the vents and there was not a collar to connect it to the vent. I called and left a VM on Saturday, and did not get a response. I had to call on Tuesday only to be told that they do not make 6" bathroom vents with a collar. I told him that one of the vents he pulled off the roof had one. He "called his supplier" who had never heard of such a thing either. I did a quick google search and found them on amazon/lowes/home depot and left a VM with where he could find them. I left a 2nd follow-up VM with Jim and haven't received a response. They did a decent job, just didn't complete the job like they should have. I WILL HAVE TO CALL AND FIND ANOTHER ROOFER TO FINISH THE JOB RIGHT! Maybe I should have waited to pay them until I verified the work. Then I would have the correct vents on my roof. At this rate of responsiveness, I question their 10 year warranty on workmanship.

This company and the team of workers they had on my job, were all outstanding. The roof, trim and gutters are excellent looking. I am very happy I chose Richards as the first major updating project to my home. They are well worth the time to call and have them make a bid on your roofing project. I had 2 other bids late last fall and Richards still came in below them. I'm very glad I waited until this year to make my decision and not hurrying just to get the job done. It was well worth the wait and the job is finished and looks amazing.
