Jim was the first contractor to call me back and immediately turned around a bid. He was open and honest and his crewed showed up when he said they would and they knocked the job out swiftly and efficiently. Will use again for our next roof. Great working with them.

The job went well. I worked with Alex who was very friendly and respectful. He was also honest and made sure that every aspect of the contract was respected. The crew was on time and the work crew did a thorough cleanup of the property. I will definitely hire Richard & Swift for any roofing project that i have.

I had them strip and re-roof my house and garage. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Competitive pricing , and work completed promptly. Crew was nice and timely. Complete clean up. Have already referred several friends who were extremely happy with them also. Would definitely recommend this company and will of course use them for anything else I need in the future A+++

From the initial inspection of our roof and consult, to the end result of a beautiful new roof and thorough cleanup job, getting a new roof was a great experience due to the excellent work and expertise shown by Richards and Swift Roofing!! They worked quickly and carefully, were wonderful communicating with us, and helped us purchase the perfect product for our home. We are so thankful that we called them, and are happy to recommend them to all our friends, family and neighbors!

Our roof is beautiful! We had them do the roof on our old house and we just had our roof done on our new house! Won’t go anywhere else!

Everything leading up to the work was good. After the work was done, however, there were a lot of problems. Jim came out to look, saw the issues and then has ghosted for the rest of the year. I had to hire another roofing company to fix all of the issues that resulted in water leaks causing other damage to the house. Issues - didn't install flashing, installed flashing backward, didn't put shingles all of the way to the siding, had staples sticking into shingles, lost gutter pieces, didn't reattach gutters to house, and severely scratched skylight windows. The fact that the work was done poorly, was left with issues from the beginning, and then promised to come for months to fix the issues but never came leads to this poor review. Stay away from Richards and Swift (Jim Swift) roofing. The price was good, but you get what you pay for.

Jim arrived and asked me if I had any areas of concern. I told him what areas I was conserned about. He took time to look at the attic photo I had. Him and his partner got to work inspecting the roof, vents and chimney. He found a few shigles loose and he took care of them. They caulked around the vents, stink pipe and chimney. Jim informed me that over all my roof and gutters look pretty good. The pricing was good.

I'm writing this review for my 84 year-old grandfather. I really do appreciate the service done by this company. Some shingles had blown off the roof of his home during a rainstorm. Otherwise the roof was in pretty good shape. I know that many companies could have taken advantage of my elderly grandfather and recommended an entire roof replacement. But the gentleman that came out was so honest and straightforward. He agreed that a repair was all that was needed. And the price was excellent compared to some of the other ones we had called around to get. I appreciate this companies honesty and professionalism. His roof is as good as new. I would recommend them to anyone I know.

The roof comes with a lifetime warranty. Now there is a leak on the roof. I am trying to reach out with Jim (Owner) early today but no answer. It rings and go to voicemail. It cause problems to my business, I can consider hiring them if they will provide explanation why they can't fix the roof.

We had a leak in an upstairs room. Jim Swift came promptly, checked out our 20 year roof and found several places where the underlying boards were rotting. He gave us a quote, and since we had a leak, arranged to start the job the following week. Meanwhile, a couple of his crew came out and put a plastic tarp covering the whole backside of the roof to prevent further ceiling damage. The new roof looks nice and the clean-up was good too.

Very well! They sent an army of guys out the first day, at the end of the day I spoke with, who I assume was the foreman. He explained that the (finishing shingles)? to do the edges were sent out incorrectly, and they would be back the next morning and finish. They were, they did, and it looks great! a lot of my neighbors were impressed as well. The owners, Jim & Lisa Swift were very nice. My schedule was busy and I was touch & go at home and could not meet up for a "final"so I had to finally take payment to their office a week later. No pressure, they were very understanding. I would suggest them to anyone I know!

They did a good job. They came to work and did the work. Answer all my question . I don't have any problem.

This is a positive follow up to the negative review posted March, 2021. Due to a telephone number change I was unable to discuss a crack in my bedroom ceiling for a year after they replaced the roof. Once Richard's realized that that I was trying to contact them, Jim, the owner, immediately came out to review the problem. He was very friendly and apologetic for the miscommunication. He carefully examined the crack and checked the roof and determined that the roof was fine and did not cause the crack. He also refastened my gutters where loose and filled in a crack on the wood molding around the family room at no charge. I am now very pleased with Richard's roofing and will use them again.

Richard's Roofing stripped and replaced the roof on my house in March, 2020. Shortly after, I noticed a crack in the ceiling of one of my upstairs bedrooms which they may or may not have caused. I called Richard's twice and sent them one email requesting that they come out, examine the problem and determine if faulty workmanship might have been the cause. They have refused to respond to any of my three inquiries. I am very unhappy, would use them again or recommend them.

They did a wonderful job on my mother’s roof! They put on a new shingle color that came out and we love it! Clean up was great and they were very polite. All the garbage was picked up and the grounds were protected too. The workers were nice to talk to and were very sweet to my mother.

The gentleman that came out was very friendly, honest and upfront about the costs involved, which was appreciated. He did a great job. I would highly recommend Richards Roofing.

They came out and inspected my room, pointed out some potential problem spots and repaired a few small areas to extend the life of my roof. I don't need a new roof yet but I'll be calling them when I do.

Excellent job! I hired them last year to do a tear off on my garage roof and this year we had them shingle our home! We will be buying a new house soon and if it needs a roof we are definitely calling Richards Roofing again!!

I contacted 4 roofers on Angie’s list and I received two called right away,the first company said they could not do the work because the home is being rented and the “home owner was required to be there” I said I would not be there due to the pandemic and it was in Oakland county which was a hot spot. The next company was responsive and said they would e-mail the quote, a little over a week later I called and inquired about the quote and she said they were busy and the estimator would do it later that day, we’ll I never received the quote. So I’ve given up on angies list recommendations.

So terrible! Had another company re do all the shabby work. Poor quality materials used and not connected in place -a storm would have blown it off. Thousands of $$ only to pay a good company to rent do it. They took pics of the boards/shingles left there by Richards. Never got a dollar back.

Jim came out within one day of contacting him and gave me an estimate for the work to be done. The work was done promptly and the price was very reasonable. They even corrected a few more things without any additional charge. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
