Overall, we were very satisfied with the job that Dale's team did on our roof! Dale came to our home and gave us an estimate. His estimate was in the middle of the 3-4 estimates that we received and his final charge did not waiver from the estimate. The only minor problem we had was that they ended up starting the job a day later then the agreed upon start date. The crew leader on our job was very responsive to any questions that we had throughout the work and Dale was reachable via phone if we needed him. The team also did a very nice job cleaning up after the work was completed!

Jim returned our call right away and went to our house and called back with a quote very promptly, and completed the job on the date promised.

Overall the job went well. Jim the salesman and Dale the owner were responsive to my calls and overall did a good job. There were some minor issue that were taken care of and I was not pressured to pay until I was satisfied. They were competitively priced, not the cheapest or the highest. They had an issue with the trim around my bay windows and it cost them some money to fix it properly but Dale was good about the fact that it was his guys fault and took care of it without even having to be asked. I would recommend them.

This job went great. I called three companies for estimates asking for best cash price. Richards came in with the best price. They always returned my messages, were on time for appointments and did just what they said they would including clean up. I would reccomend them to others and use them again myself.

I found Richards on Angie's List They gave me an estimate and detailed proposal on repairing the leak. They were prompt and completed the job in one day. I recommended them to some friends the next day and will continue to recommend them. Job well done.

Very happy with results. Jim (roofing) and John (siding) were very helpful and eager to address my questions and resolve my concerns.

Overall it went very well. Jim came out to do the estimate while I was out of town and then came back out to go over some questions I had. I pointed out a few extra things I wanted done and he said no problem and even suggested a few more that they could do as well (no change in cost). The job was delayed a couple days due to weather, but Jim kept me informed with what was going on and a new date for the work. The crew showed up on Monday, everyone was courteous and professional. I was able to talk to the crew chief just to verify that all the things Jim and I discussed had been passed along and we were all on the same page. The overall job took a day and a half and I am pleased with the work. When everything was done Jim even lowered the cost due to the fact they didn't use all the supplies he estimated (with no prodding from me). Considering this is a big expense that nobody wants to deal with, I have to say I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Thank you Richards Roofing.

When I first called Richards Roofing, as a result of seeing their Angie's List rating and reviews, I was given an estimate of $120, which seemed excessive, especially since that was without seeing the condition of the gutter, and in light of a drive-by estimate we go of $35. I was ready to go eslewhere but since other reviewers had quoted $40 the same work done by Richards Roofing I decided to give another call. This time I got Jim, and he told me that $40 sounded about right and that, moreover, he could come over that afternoon. I accepted this and all went great from there. He showed up when he said he would, did the work as promised, and charged the $40 I was quoted. I would use Richards Roofing again despite the hiccup at the beginning.

Jim from Richards came to look at a rook leak that is coming in my master bedroom. After examining the roof, he explained that it was due to water getting under some shingles that had lifted. He said if I bought some flashing cement, his company would do the work for free. (Richards had installed some gutters on my home and garage in 2010). I bought the flashing cement and called Jim back. After leaving multiple messages, Jim finally returned and did the work himself. To my knowledge, Jim is a sales guy, not a roofer. He did the work while I was at home, but didn't bother to ring the doorbell. I didn't realize he did his quickie job until he was gone. Sure, I didn't pay for the job, but I also thought my problem would be solved. Afterwards, I notice after a rainfall that the roof still leaks. I have since called Jim four or five times and left messages, but no one has ever returned my call. I also noted that one of the gutters Richards Roofing installed (actually a sub-contractor) last year is leaking and told Jim about this problem shortly after installation. Jim assured me that his company would rectify the problem this spring. Well, it's now almost October and no one from Richards or his sub-contractor has shown up to take care of the gutter. Yes, I've left multiple messages with Jim about this as well. Based on my experience, with faulty workmanship and no response to my phone messages, I have no idea how this company got any kind of Angie's List service award. If you want to deal with these kinds of hassles, go ahead and give Richards Roofing a call. I won't be using them again.

After evaluating both vendors, I decided to go with the company that was less expensive because both offered the same workmanship and warranty on labor and materials. I was very pleased with the representative and recommended him to my neighbor, who also was replacing a roof. The issue came after I informed them that they were not going to get the job. The rep proceeded to berate the choice of shingle I chose, criticize the other party of not pulling permits and commenting about the workmanship of my roof after it was completed. I thought this behavior to be very unprofessional and he displayed sour grapes. I was disappointed with the experience.

Jim, the salesman for Richards, came out the same day I called to meet me for an estimate. He arrived a few minutes early and immediately went up to look at the roofing. After performing the needed inspection and measurements we sat down to go over his proposal for the work to be accomplished. He had paperwork showing the process used for installing the new roofing and listed all items to be replaced. Jim was professional and was able to answer all questions asked. The estimate was $1500 less than another quote obtained by another company for comparable quality roofing. We agreed to the price and the work to be performed and work was scheduled for the following week. On the day scheduled part of the roofing crew arrived at about 8 AM and started tearing off the old roofing. Additional crew showed up an hour or two later. Work was completed around 7 PM. The roofing looks great. I did call Jim the next day as there was some additional cleanup that was needed. He had personnel out within an hour of my call. I am very satisfied with the overall experience.

The overall experience was very good. I wasn't able to go up on the roof. Jim photographed areas of concern to show me and to have available if an insurance claim would be filed. He took his time explaining our needs and answered questions. He was very helpful and was in no hurry to leave without all questions being answered. Samples were left for shingles and trim. The tear down and shingle replacement was done in one day. The trim and gutter job was scheduled for a few days after and I was told it could take a few days for this. The job was done in 2 days. We would recommend this company to friends and family.

During a bad rain we realized that our gutters needed cleaning as soon as possible. I got several contractors from Angie's list. I called three companies for an estimate for gutter cleaning. When my husband called Richard's Roofing , he left a message asking for an estimate for gutter cleaning. They never returned the call.

I don?t know much about roofing and they completed the job in one and a half day. After the job was completed two day later the overhang is falling down. I tried to contact them when I saw the problem. I spoke with Jim after repeated call for several days , he told me they were going to send someone out to fix the problem, no one come. I?ve tried to call them almost every other day and they had not call me back.Finally after several days someone from Richards come out to my home and made an inspection. There is no communication after the inspection and I had to call them several times and they told me they did not have any body available to fix the problem. After repeated call they have some one coming to my house and gave us an estimate to fix the problem for $700. The question is who is responsible. We can argue the whole day without any solution. After repeated discussion, they agreed to pay half of the cost . The guy is supposed to come out Aug. 29 to fix the problem. He did not show up.He is working for Richards and I do not have any confidence in Richards any more, I found some one to fix this problem. This is a very frustration experience for me to deal with Richards. The following is the main point: 1. After they got the job they did not response when I contact them with the problem. After they got your money you are on your own. 2.I am worry about if different problem occur in the future I will be on my own. 3. Their behavior make me wonder whether they ill honor the warranty.Since their response time is long by the time they response the roof might fall apart. 4. They are supposed to offer discount of 5% for Angie's List member and I asked about it, they said no.

A leak developed on the ceiling of a second floor bathroom and I assumed it must be the roof. I called Richard's Roofing and Richard himself came to my house and inspected the roof which is quite steep with complications like dormers and a flat part which cannot be seen from the ground. Richard was up on the roof for at least an hour, did some caulking around a sanitary drain vent and declared the roof to be good for another twenty years. He did not charge and would not accept my offer to pay something for his time. I was really ready to shell out thousands when I called so he could easily have taken advantage of me but didn't and for that I am greatly thankful. Nice guy and someone who made me feel confident that he know what he was doing. We've had a few heavy rains since and the leak is gone.

The best part is that I called this morning and they were here by 1 pm. They were very pleasant people.

Richards Roofing was one of four roof companies that we got estimates for a leak in our roof and replacing our gutters. Jim Swift met with us and was very professional, very knowledgeable, and not sales-y. He described in detail how the roof would be replaced and suggested installing extra vents. In his packet of information, he provided the addresses of several houses that Richard's Roofing had replaced the roof, including his own address. We chose Richards Roofing because Jim offered the lowest estimate, provided the roof shingles that we preferred, and we appreciated Jim's professionalism. Because Richards Roofing was booked for more than a week, Jim came to the house while we were at work to patch the hole causing the leak, free of charge. On day 1, the dumpster arrived at 7:00 am, then about 10-12 men tore off the roof of the house and garage. I worked from home that day in our basement and was not disturbed by their voices or music at all. They cleaned up after themselves. On day 2, two men installed the new roof in the pouring rain. They were friendly and very hard working. They also cleaned up after themselves and secured the dumpster. On day 3, two men installed the new gutters while one man cleaned up the remaining roofing materials and the dumpster was removed. One of the men installing the gutters commented to the other that the roof looked really nice. During the first rainfall, there were no leaks and the gutters worked perfectly. I would definitely work with Richards Roofing again and I recommend Richards Roofing to others for any exterior home improvements.

They were very punctual. They gave me a very good quote. They were professional. We did not choose them because they would not do the trim. It was just they were not going to do the complete amount of work. I would use their service for a quote in the future too.

Jim promised to be out "early" the next day. He never showed up, never called. I called Jim this week and left a message. Jim never returned my call.

I have had several nagging problems at my house. A piece of flashing had fallen down, a shingle was missing, and my gutters needed cleaned out. I reached out to Richard's Roofing via Angie's List, and was contacted in one day, and they setup to come out and give me an estimate, and said they could perform the work at the same time if it was acceptable. I left the flashing outside for them to install, and they called early the morning of the day they promised to be there. The gave me an extremely wonderful price of $100.00 to clean the gutters, reinstall the piece of flashing, and to install a shingle. The work was done immediately, and three things that have plagued my mind for a few months were resolved that quickly. My wife is a bird lover, and our backyard is host to several bird feeders. Richard's called during the gutter cleanout to inform me that there was a nest of four baby birds in the gutters, but that they did not impede the flow. We were able to leave the nest intact, and it meant a great deal to my wife. I greatly appreciate the service I received from Richard's and will look no further in the future for anything I need done in their realm of service. It is important to note our transaction was handled over the phone. He came to my house while I was at work, and called with the assesment. We agreed on the very reasonable rate he quoted me, and I came home from work to my troubles solved. Thank you.

We were excited about all the positive reviews for Richards Roofing and called to request an estimate on some repairs we are needing that have (needless to say) been making us a little anxious with all the rain we've been having this spring. We were able to get an appointment right away. Unfortunately, Jim was a no-show. He left a message to call him shortly before his anticipated arrival time (he did not answer my return call). Then , he never arrived and never followed up with an explanation. My husband left work early to be home during the "1 to 3 p.m." window and was pretty frustrated that he wasted an afternoon off.

I was not pleased with the crew that did the original roof removal. They were complaining a lot because they didn't have enough people there to do the removal. They seemed to take it out on each other. The cleanup was pretty bad also, I had to borrow their nail magnet to clean up the area afterwards. They claim that they do excellent cleanup work, but I would advise someone else to do a post-work walk-around with Jim before paying in full. I think there was some difficulty with communication between the crew and the owner. Jim did my estimate, but then his boss was the one to tell me I needed much more work done, thus raising the price significantly. I was pleased with the new roof installation though. The quality is good and the roof looks great.

Workers arrived at 7:30 am (as promised) and started to work . The job was done by 6:00 pm, with area clean and neat.

Had problems with leakage. Had to call company many times before they responded. They came back several times after many calls because it still leaked. I'm still worried that it might not be fixed.

Went great. Price was very fair - included cleaning the gutters (which are only on front and back of house - it's a bungalow), cost of chimney cap as well as installing it. The guy who performed the work was very nice. I will definitely call them when I need to have my roof replaced next year.
