Excellent job! I hired them last year to do a tear off on my garage roof and this year we had them shingle our home! We will be buying a new house soon and if it needs a roof we are definitely calling Richards Roofing again!!

I contacted 4 roofers on Angie’s list and I received two called right away,the first company said they could not do the work because the home is being rented and the “home owner was required to be there” I said I would not be there due to the pandemic and it was in Oakland county which was a hot spot. The next company was responsive and said they would e-mail the quote, a little over a week later I called and inquired about the quote and she said they were busy and the estimator would do it later that day, we’ll I never received the quote. So I’ve given up on angies list recommendations.

So terrible! Had another company re do all the shabby work. Poor quality materials used and not connected in place -a storm would have blown it off. Thousands of $$ only to pay a good company to rent do it. They took pics of the boards/shingles left there by Richards. Never got a dollar back.

Jim came out within one day of contacting him and gave me an estimate for the work to be done. The work was done promptly and the price was very reasonable. They even corrected a few more things without any additional charge. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

This company is amazing they came out right away and put up tarps the next day I had a new roof !

Not as planned. Richards roofing was Hired to replace my roof and gutters. The roof was a complete tear off. Old gutters looked decent but would leak in and around corners. I was excited that I found someone who was qualified and reputable to do the work. The roof went on just fine, complete tear off with wood replacement as needed. The projected budget was right on and close to the estimated cost. The crew was a bit sloppy with the tear off, and left quite a bit of small debris. I had to pick up around my neighbors houses on a daily basis. After the roof was completed the gutters were to be installed. Then we were hit by a early snow storm and drastically cold temps. I thought the gutters would be delayed or possibly put off until spring. I was OK with this and let the company know. But to my surprise I was told the gutters were still scheduled and the weather would not be a problem. The gutters went up a few days later when the outside temp was 10 degrees. Clean up was limited and a good amount of debris was left around the house. Jim the estimator and sales person contacted us to set up a time for payment. This was taken care of the next day and during our meeting the lack of clean up was discussed. I was promised when the weather broke mid week a crew would be out to take care of it. The clean up never happened. I called a few time as a reminder when no one showed up, then finally took care of it myself. Several 5 gallon buckets later full of gutter spikes, roofing nails, shingle chunks and plywood I was done. Never heard back from Jim at Richards roofing. As the snow melted off the roof we noticed the gutters leaking in two spots one directly above the back door, it was like someone left a faucet on over the door. Plus the corner over the front of the house by the drive dripped constantly. I called several times, before someone came out to fix it. Yep still leaks. January 2020, we were hit with monsoon rains. I received a panicked call from home, we had water coming in down the wall in front of the fire place. Also the vent less gas fire place was burning out of control full open. The gas was turned off and several pots were placed to collect the water. In total about 2 gallons were collected. The controller for the gas log set was shorted out by the water, causing it to malfunction , which set the gas valve wide open. A tarp was secured on the roof and around the Chimney flashing winch took care of the water leak. Before doing this I went into the attic and took a video of the water leaking in. I also took pics and vids up on the roof before placing the tarp. I called Richards Roofing, nobody answered except voicemail. I left a detailed message about the problem. Several hours later someone called back and said they were extremely busy and their repairman would be out tomorrow. Well two weeks later someone showed up, this was after I placed several calls. They looked at the chimney said there repair guy would be out the next day. He was, the fix was laying down what looks to be a whole tube of calk. Also There was a piece of used aluminum flashing attached to the gutter and chimney. looks to be a shoddy divert er for run off. Really un-professional repairs. I wish I could post pics, to bad there's no place for them here. All in all this started out to be a good experience, in the end not so much. The work was completed, Customer service and repair calls Need a lot of work.

Jim Richards and his crew are a group of dedicated professionals. They just replaced a roof ,skylights and added gutters on a mobile home for a local charity called Project 1. Jim volunteered to ask his supplier for a discount as the work was being done for a disabled veteran. He got a discount which was much appreciated. Jim is a good communicator and keeps everyone up to speed on the timeline of the project. They hit the ground running the day of the project in frigid weather. The homeowner was amazed by the efficiency and care that the crew exhibited. He said that he had the impression that they were working on their own homes. The roof looks fantastic and we are so grateful for the professionalism and care exhibited by this company.

I had quite a few shingles blow off in a windstorm. The gentleman that came out was kind, efficient and very knowledgeable. My roof is about 20 years old, and he could have easily tried to sell me a new one costing tens of thousands of dollars. He was very honest and said that my roof was still in good shape and a repair would be all that was needed. I appreciate his honesty. I would highly recommend.

Richards Roofing did an excellent job installing a new roof on our property! Jim was great and didn’t pressure us in any way. The old roof was torn off and a new one installed in one day! It looks great and there was no hassle!

With this roof journey, I received four quotes. There was a vast range of lows to highs. Richard’s Roofing was a straight shooter with providing the requirements of the job. There was no high pressured sales pitch or reduced pricing tactics, just the best price. I had several follow up questions and their response was timely. The roof job was completed in two days.

Omgoodness! this is the first time I've had to have a roof put on my home. Jim from Richards Roofing is fantastic. He informed me of everything that they would do, gave me a huge discount for having the garage done at the same time as house and was just fantastic and patient throughout this whole thing. The crew that was here, were absolutely fantastic. Respectful, cleaned up everything and they worked their butts off. They had a women on their team, and I'll tell you, she is awesome. Thank you so very much for everything that was done. you have made this an extremely great experience for me.

Excellent!!! I had explained to Richards Roofing that the last company I had hired back in May 2019 never showed up to do the job. I was in a bind because in between the time I had hired the other roofing company I had hired a window company to install the windows in July thinking that my new roof would have already be on the house. Richards Roofing said they would have the tear off and new roof completed in time for the window installation. They came through with flying colors. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't hired Richards Roofing. I would totally recommend this company.

He was so good, he answers the phone quickly and for any problems you have, he will come right over and will check for you. He was the cheapest and he will explain to you everything, he was just superb, always arrives on time.

Contacted Jim for a quote. Had many questions and miscellaneous items that needed to be done (sheet metal fixed, couple flat epdm roof spots re-done, leak solved, sheet metal painted, etc); also had to work job around carpenter. Jim very responsive, had to have several discussions, got all questions answered, was a very reassuring experience. Job was done earlier than scheduled and within time estimated. Work was well done and all the miscellaneous extra items were taken care of. The entire job and all the additional items were reasonably priced. I highly recommend Richards Roofing!

I was able to see on Angie's listing that this company did repairs as well as roof replacements, so I called them. I left a message and had a call back in a very short amount of time. We discussed the work needed and they told me they would come out the next day to do the repair. That is exactly what happened and everything looked great. The price charged for the repair was very reasonable. Based on my experience with this company, they would be my first call for any roofing needs. True professionals.

Best price combined with extra work others wouldn't do. Sent out extra workers so job was done in 1/2 day! Great!

Jim was very nice and did excellent work. This was a very minor job and he didn't even charge me for it. He stands behind his work and told me to call him back if I ever need to. I would recommend him.

The work was done quickly and they did a check on the rest of the roof while they were there. I will recommend them to friends and family.

I haven't been able to get them to answer the phone or return my calls. Left a message for them two weeks ago, and specifically mentioned that I am local (I have an out-of-state area code) and they never called back. I called them again and twice they picked up the phone but didn't actually answer it (I could hear other conversations in the background).

I am really happy with the work Richards Roofing has done. Out of 7 quotes, Richards Roofing had the best price. The crew was professional and friendly. Besides the new roof which required a tear-off, I wanted attic insulation. I asked them to do the attic insulation by going through the roof, as to not track fiberglass through the house - no problem. They quoted 12" of blown-in fiberglass; the others quoted 8 to 10". They started within a week after I contracted them. Mine is a ranch of 2900 square feet, yet they did the work in 2 days including the tear-off, attic insulation and clean-up. They cleaned up well, and even put back my gutter leaf guards. They allotted 10 plywood sheets in the price quote. They used only 4, so they refunded the cost of the unused sheets, so I was charged less than the quote. In my experience when I have had a roof replaced, the chimney leaked during the first big rain. Here we've had several big rains, snow, sleet, and high winds in the year since they installed my roof and I have had no leaks or other problems. I've recommended Richards Roofing to my friends and co-workers and would definitely hire them again.
