After one not returned call during the worst of the weather while I was understanding they were swamped all went well. I called a couple of days later and spoke with someone who offered to come out the next day while I was at work. That was done and he left a written quote for the work. I called back giving the ok to complete the work and when I came home from work the next day it was done and no more banging on my bedroom wall!! While not returning the initial call was a turnoff the weather had been extremely severe and perhaps they didn't get the full message and number so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and still giving them an A overall. I work 9-5 with a long commute I never saw/met anyone at my home yet it was taken care of promptly.

UNPROFESSIONAL - DO NOT USE RICHARDS ROOFING! We originally had them quote a new roof and replacement of all the gutters on our 1,600 sq ft home with an attached garage. The quote for the gutter replacement was $980. Recently, we discovered a hole in one of the gutters, so I called them to provide a revised quote to replace only that 60 ft span of gutter. I spoke with Dale on a Wednesday, explaining the situation, and he agreed to come that Thursday at 5 pm to provide a quote. After a no call and no show on Thursday, we called Dale on Friday morning. He mentioned he'd forgotten about the quote, but would come out at 5 pm that day to provide the quote. He showed up after 6 pm (late) and after looking at the gutter provided a quote for $690. The second quote included gutter screens, which were not quoted originally, but he stated that cost was $140. I asked him to explain the comparison of the new quote to the original quote - $980 for the whole house and now $550 (minus screens) for one-third the work. He said it was likely since the original quote included the roof, and that they do not do the gutter work themselves but sub-contract that work. I asked to explain why the $980 would be cheaper with the roof if the work is a pass-through sub-contractor cost. His response was I could get any gutter guy to quote the job and they'd provide the same quote (did not answer the question). He then went on to say some gutter guys may do it for cheaper if they wanted the work, but his guys want to stay home due to the cold weather. I asked again to explain why the estimate was over half the cost as the original quote for one-third of the work. He said the cost per foot goes down the more work is done, but offered zero details or examples. I expected much more from this company - a no call, no show for a quote is extremely unprofessional. To then show up late on the re-scheduled time, exhibit a poor attitude, and essentially provide a high quote without explanation (reading between the lines = he didn't want the job) is a total waste of my time. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH RICHARDS ROOFING, find another roofing/gutter company.

I called and talked to 'Jim' on a Tuesday and my new gutter was in place two days later. A job very well done at a reasonable price. Was so glad to finally find a company like Richard's Roofing willing to do a partial gutter job. Others I had called only wanted to do whole-house jobs for thousands of dollars. I will definitely hire them again!

He got the job done fast. I would use him again.

I was having leaking in the house and they promptly put me at the beginning of their list of houses for the day. I believe the owner himself was up on the roof with another service man and they did a good job. Several hours later the water stopped in our house.

Needed to come back to fix areas of concern. Did not address all of our needs.

Went great - showed up when promised no fuss no muss with the appraisal and job. Did the job quickly and it looks great. Only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was all the cigarette butts and nails I found all over my lawn and flower beds the next day.

I only had Richard's roofing out for an estimate, but they came early, were prepared with a packet of shingle information, proof of liability insurance and license. They appointment was quick and they were willing to answer any questions I had then and also in a later phone call asking about roof insulation pricing. I decided not to go with their services based on comparing other quotes and seeing the low estimate of plywood to be replaced.

Jim was very prompt and professional when I called for a quote. Work was done in one day, all work was neat and professional as well. The crew was was very engaging and answered any questions I had during process, I would easily use and refer them in the future!

Great job at a great price. Very happy with the work Richards did. They rehung a gutter that had fallen off my house, reattached my loose gutters, and performed a full cleaning. I received an estimate over the phone and the work was performed just as we had agreed. Nice, professional crew.

We needed our roof replaced as we had some bad ceiling leaks that damaged our bedroom. We needed a quick turnaround on an estimate and repair because my wife and I couldn't use our bedroom as the leak required partially deconstruction of the ceiling and removal of the insulation. Richard's Roofing appeared near the top of my first search on Angie's List and I couldn't be happier with the end result. Jim from RR was quick to give us an estimate (on a Tuesday after Sunday's storms and Monday's ceiling deconstruction) and said his crew could work in the next few days. He quoted us $3,500 for replacement, building in the replacement of rotted panels and additional vents. Our house is not large and our roof is a roofer's dream - minimal slope and no valleys. We tried calling other companies for estimates but many couldn't deliver on coming out nearly as quickly as RR. Many were booked through December, which wouldn't work for us at all. Others that came out gave us a figure nearly $2,000 more and couldn't believe we received a $3.5K quote for the work. Of course, the disparity in quotes raised questions for us but we kept going back to what our insurance agent told us, that our job would probably be around $4,000, maybe $4,500, and that if people came in higher, they were overcharging. His were unsolicited tips as insurance would not be covering our roof replacement. Nonetheless, it was helpful info. Ultimately we went with Richard's Roofing. Jim kept to his word and a crew came out early Friday morning. It was a rainy, cold day. They worked between flurries of rain and were finished with our roof by mid-afternoon - around 2. (One note: the subcontractor who delivered the shingles told me that we found a great company to work with. He said he delivered at least two jobs a day for RR and never came back for repairs. All unsolicited.) While the $3500 quote included the replacement of 6 panels, they had to replace 12. Because we were paying by check, Jim kept the cost at $3500 when the additional panels should have cost an extra $150. That was great. If I had one critique, it was on the clean-up. We still have shingle pieces and nails in our yard. They did do a clean-up but some things were left. We have a dog so we'll need to go find the nails and other items. No big deal, as far as I'm concerned. Jim said they would come out on Monday to do one final cleanup. I am not saying they did an incomplete job - it was a rainy day so some things couldn't be cleaned up as well as on a sunny day. With the price I got and the quick turnaround, I find no issue with a few nails and shingle pieces. I highly recommend Richard's Roofing. One of the best experiences with a contractor I've had. Now, to find a contractor for the interior!

They were awesome and were able to do the work immediately (they rearranged their schedule so that they could finish the roof before we moved into the house).

It has been approximately 11 months since the initial work was done. I waited on this review to ensure adequate time was given to evaluate the project. Based on that, I am giving what I feel is a very fair B rating for Richards. Pros: -Initial quote was quick, complete and Jim walked the roof -Contractor is knowledgeable about their products and procedures -Contractor worked with our insurance adjuster and the cost of the roof was covered by insurance -Quality of work appears to be high and was checked by another contractor -Once started, work was completed quickly Cons: -Gutters were left full of debris from project -Trim flashing around the chimney and front/side of house were not replaced initially -Minor shrub damage -Issue with small leak over garage due to improperly installed flashing not addressed My advice for any prospective buyers would be consistent with other contractors-make sure all your issues are addressed prior to issuing final payment.

I called them and they said they could come out and quote later that same morning. They said they had a small job in my neighborhood the next day so they would knock $250 off if I had it done than. I actually needed it done within 3 weeks for insurance purposes and was worried about lead time so this was a huge plus for me. When I came home from work the next day it was done. Very happy with the quality of work.

The project went really well. They had the know-how and they completed the work very quickly.

They did a wonderful job on the roof and gutters but my attic is a mess. They left everything took down up there and didn't clean at all.

Jim came out and gave us a quote a few weeks ago. He was on time for the appt. and did a through job of looking to see what was required before providing a quote. He answered all the questions we had and left us some information to review. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need like insulation or new gutters. After informing them that we were going to select them he brought out larger samples of our top color choices because it " was a 30 year decision and we should be sure about the color". The team showed up early (which is a good thing) on the day of job and set out to work. They put up tarps in some areas to aid their clean. They finished the job sooner than I thought. (another good thing) and we couldn't be happier. There was very little to clean up after not even a big handful of papers and NOT A NAIL IN SIGHT. We were very pleased with this experience and would gladly recommend them to friends and family.

Jim came out on time for my estimate was nice to work with and didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. Job was done above my satisfaction. If you are getting estimates include them!! They will not disappoint you.

It was a blistering hot day and they arrived early to set up and get going. They were fast, professional and thorough.

It took him about 3 days to complete the work. It was very quick. They did a great job! The thing that amazed me the most was how well they cleaned up afterwards. There was almost no evidence of them being there.

Very prompt and courteous both with the quote and with the actual work. Most competitive price and very willing to answer all questions.

Richards Roofing made an appointment for 10:00 am on 22 July to give us an estimate for replacing our gutters. At 11:00 on the 22nd, I called Richards Roofing to find out if they still planned to come out that day or whether we needed to reschedule our appointment for another day. I left my name, address, and phone number in case they had misplaced this information. Richards Roofing never came to our house nor did they return our call.

The contract was for the completely strip the existing shingle and to replace with new shingle. Replace rooten plywood (2) sheets of CDX or OSB plywood where needed. Additional would be replaced at a cost $25 per sheet of plywood. Additional 1x6 $2.00 per lin. foot as needed. Jim walked me around the house and discussed that if wood needed to be replaced it would be replaced. He asked if I wanted to keep the curve in the Fascia board along the front porch. I talked about what should I do if I have problem with the gutter installation. I asked about warranty issues and who to direct my calls. He informed me that all warranty concerns should be directed to Richard's Roofing. I have been calling for (8) months now. A warranty is not good if you can not get the issue addressed. I was contacted the week that I wrote the review to have the work done. They came out within three weeks to complete the work. I am happy to have the issue resolved.
