Professional, explained the process really well and completed the work incredibly fast.

Crickets. Heard nothing back. I waited for fourteen (14) business days, then called the company. I spoke to Jim Swift, and he said he would check into the status of the quote, and have Mr. Richards call me right away. Again with the Crickets. So it's 4 weeks later, and I still have never heard anything back from these guys. From what I've seen of their work, they do a good job....but I would not count on them to be professional, prompt, or responsive. I understand that this list puts less value on "work not performed" but I think "not responsive" warrants a red flag.

Great service! They worked around my schedule and were able to complete the job in a couple days after my exterior painters were done. Would definitely use them again.

I had close to 10 estimates done on my roof, with the prices ranging from $7,000 to $12,000. Richard's was the most competitively priced. Jim was my primary contact and was very informative and cordial on the phone. We scheduled the job two weeks out; as Jim's team had another job in the Royal Oak area. Jim assigned a team of six to my home, and for the majority of the time there were three employees working on the roof of my home, and three on my garage. Every single member of Jim's team were incredibly nice and hard-working. Work started at 7:30am, and they actually finished both of the roofs (tear-down and new installed) in the same day; albeit a few of the team stayed until around 7pm for finishing touches. The next morning someone came out and did a follow-up cleaning around my property; which was greatly appreciated. The ONLY negative in this review is based on the company that Richard's subcontracted out for my gutters. I'll post details for that specific company, but in summary the cleanup was terrible. Nails, shredded pieces of gutter, and old shingles were all over the yard. Jim was very apologetic when I informed him of what I found and offered to come out himself to do an extra cleanup (even though it wasn't directly his company's fault). With that being said, the roof looks GREAT and I can't thank Jim and his team enough for the exceptional work and customer service they provided to me. I'll be glad to recommend them to anyone in the future.

I had been investigating getting a roof for the past 3 months. I used Angie's List and neighbor references to compile a list of 8 companies that I wanted to come give me an estimate. Throughout the process Jim from Richards Roofing continued to stand out with having an excellent reputation and competitive pricing. I performed an in depth comparison between all the different estimates (shingles, roofing materials, venting systems, pricing) to make sure I was comparing apples to apples the best I could. Richards Roofing was not the cheapest and was also not the most expensive but fell right in line with the other companies that I had narrowed my search down to. I decided to choose Richards Roofing and Jim set me up on their schedule the following week. The day of installation arrived and the dumpster and material were delivered approximately 7am. The tear-off crew arrived around around 9 and got to work. By approximately 4pm the outside of my house was a mess but the roof was almost complete. I then watched everyone on their crew start to pitch in and clean up the shingles, material, nails (also used magnets) and I was amazed that by 7ish my yard looked like they were never there. Everything was cleaned up, driveway swept and a couple of the guys even stayed late to run their magnets a few extra times around our kids play area to ensure no nails were left behind. We did have one incident which I was told by the foreman, Justin, had only happened one other time was that while blowing in the insulation in the attic they damaged some drywall in the upstairs ceiling. They could not have handled the problem better! They immediately came to the front door and informed me of the issue and guaranteed they would get it repaired immediately . The crew and foreman, Justin, were extremely apologetic. By 7pm that same night they had a drywall person come by, replace some drywall in the ceiling and tape/mud it. He then told us he would be back in the morning to sand and paint the area. By 11am the following day he had tarped off entire area (cleanest drywall work I have ever seen) and the ceiling is as good as new. Justin came by later that day and went in the attic and made sure the insulation was covering that part of the attic and also took some pictures of the damper vents they installed. The roof was only installed 3 days ago so time will be another good judge of the work but my initial thought on the work, crew, foreman and overall company is nothing less than great. The crew was all exceptionally polite and Justin went above and beyond to make sure when the job was finished that everything was good.

Went really well. Amazing price, pleasure to work with and they finished in one day. Roof and new gutters looks great. Needed some minor touch-up on the flashing and Jim was very responsive and there was no extra charge. Highly recommend them!

The company was responsive to our request. (Some companies hesitate to work in Detroit.) The salesman/supervisor helped us analyze the need of the job, and scheduled work at our convenience. Cleanup was careful and complete. We are delighted with the results, and would hire again if necessary. The work came with a transferable warranty.

Excellent service from start to finish. Responsive to my request for a quote. Follow up by Jim was excellent. They were able to do the job in one day. The crew was great and I am totally satisfied. I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Jim is a very pleasant person. From estimate to completion of job, I was informed of the progress. Everything went as expected. The first day on the job, was the hottest day of the season. Workers came back the next day and continued the job. Did a wonderful job from start to finish and left the place clean and no debris.

Very efficient and helpful when we called for a quote. They were prompt on showing up when scheduled for an estimate. Jim was the sales guy and seemed fair.

It went well. They did a good job. They were responsive and economical. They cleaned up everything.

I called and left a message. Jim called me back promptly. He actually drove right over, looked at the gutters and gave me a price. Work was done by the end of the day! Fast service and repair work was excellent. I would highly recommend this company again.

.Jim arrived on time and said he would email me a quote for completing reguired roof repairs. However, he never provided the quote and didn't return two phone calls I made to follow-up with him. His lack of responsiveness was unsatisfactory. If they didn't want to do the work, all he had to do was tell me that was the case.

They indicated they were too busy to come out around the dates that I suggested but offered to come out and check the roof and leave a quote on the door. I confirmed that I was interested in having them to that. I never heard from them again.

The service was great!!!! They did my mothers home and year later we have had no issues at all.

First met with Jim...the Sales Rep in late April and he supplied a sample book and estimate for complete roofing for home and garage (including eaves and downspouts). Very professional and timely! Waited until June due to home equity line approval and no change to estimate. Workers were here early morning and worked until 9 pm to complete roofing job. No loud music, yelling, etc. Professional work crew! The owner, Dale, followed up immediately after the roof was installed and took part in the cleanup! This shows the customer-client that pride of workmanship starts at the top of the company!

The project went well once we got some decent weather to start it. Siding was fixed first and done promptly. Roofing tear-off and completion took 3 days because of rain. Gutter company was on the spot 15 minutes after roofing guys were done. Clean up was about ok. I had to make sure all the nails were taken care of in driveway.

I had a fine experience with Richard's Roofing. They were able to do the job quickly and they cleaned up after themselves well. Their prices were quite competitive and their quality was excellent.

I was pleased with the level of responsiveness and ease of communications. Due to my work conflicts and travels, I wasn't able to meet in person with anyone, but they were able to accomodate me by being responive to all my phone calls and answering all my question, as well as timely showing up to inspect the roof of my house and providing a quote and explaining the service to performed. They came out timely and repalced the blown shingles, despite being delayed a few days because of bad weather. We were able to arrange payment over the phone for my convenience and the quote was accurate with no additinal surprises. Based on my experience, Ricahrd's roofing will be first on my list of places to contact if future reprairs or work is needed.

Richards was very professional and accommodating. Jim, the salesman, was attentive - came out almost immediately after we contacted the company for an estimate. The price of the work fell in a mid-range of other quotes we got - picked Richards based on that and their reviews on Angie's List. The work was completed in one day (as promised). This involved a complete tear-off of the old roof and lots of unexpected wood repair (for which they did not charge extra). The crew was professional and respectful of the property. The cleanup was thorough, and the foreman took quite a while to go over everything with us once the job was done.

first I read the reviews from a couple of the top companies. Obviously some reviews seemed a little extreme and some kind of ridiculous. Of my 3 quotes the reason I did select Richards roofing was because when I called Jim gave me a date to come out for the estimate which works with my schedule. Jim arrived on time for the estimate and didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need estimate took about a half an hour and he answered all the questions that I asked. Extremely appreciated the no high-pressure approach!! The morning of the job they showed up on time guys on my crew were courteous and polite and finish the job in one day cleaned up extremely well yes there were a couple of nails. Not a big deal!! I would definitely call them again. You should too!!!
