The servicemen were prompt efficient and courteous gave lots of instructions and went above and beyond by refinishing a table for me so that it mathed the floors better

I didn't end up using them, but Joe and his staff very were friendly, patient and timely. He answered all of my questions and responded to emails quickly. The quote was fair and I do not hesitate to recommend them. My project had multiple pieces and I just found a company that could do the entire job without me having to coordinate several different companies.

I am 70 years old and have had many tradesman, companies do work in our home. This company, and their employee Will who performed the work, is the best I have ever had.Will was by far the most punctual, courteous, and best worker we have ever encountered. He is a great representative for a great company.He explained all that he was doing and answered all of our questions with a very professional, yet personal, manner. At the end of each day he cleaned up the work area and never left any residue behind. Overall he made a very long process, 4 days in total, go very well. Kapula Floors should be very pleased and feel fortunate to have Will as their employee and representative.

This company is amazing. Joe, the owner came for the initial consultation and explained all potential products and services thoroughly. Evan, our floor refinisher was punctual and professional. He was very accommodating to our family of 5 and our two little dogs. He explained everything before the job started and as it progressed. The dustless system is exactly what is states. I wiped down my surfaces the day the job was completed and would equate the dust to one weeks worth of household buildup. AMAZING. THAT WAS WITHOUT ANY TARPS BEING PLACED! As a night shift employee, Evan was courteous to my schedule and I was able to sleep while the work was completed over 3.5 days. Evan helped us chose our stain color and offered many different options. In the end, I would not have done this any other way.

We can't recommend Kapalua Floors enough! From the bidding experience to the final finish, we had nothing but a positive experience. Joe was friendly during the bid and didn't seem phased by the chaotic experience of our two kids having breakfast in the home we had just moved into, plus he was patient with my indecision over what to do with the final design of the home (I can't say the same for the other two companies we had bid on the project). The Kapalua crew arrived on-time everyday of the 10 day project, and even accommodated our request to sample stain colors on a Saturday that they weren't planning to work so I could leave town. The guy who came that Saturday was incredibly positive and did multiple samples for me, not leaving until I was happy with my selection. The house was left cleaner than they found it and we LOVE the floors. The area where they filled in the large areas that were missing hardwood blend seamlessly into the rest of our family room. We are so happy with Kapalua and will definitely call them when it's time to refinish the stairs and upstairs area of our home!!

Didn't oversell. Told me I really didn't need sanding, just cleaning which was less expensive and the floor looks beautiful

Kapalua Floors was quick to respond and they came out on Saturday to get the job done because we were selling our home. I really appreciated their willingness to squeeze me into their schedule. The installer was very friendly and my floors looked great when he was done. He did a very precise job and cleaned everything up when he left.

This company is great! From phone calls to the office to the estimation to the installation we received excellent customer service. Everyone was kind, punctual, and efficient. We are extraordinarily pleased with our final product which is new wood floors in the kitchen. We felt the employees go out of their way to make everything work for you.

Because of their good work and reputation, Kapalua is growing. This is sometimes a double edged sword, but not with them. The 2 man crew sent out, James and Rolando (new to the company but very experienced), were great to work with. Very professional and hard working. They let us know if one had to leave pick up materials or if they would be working late or arriving early. The work was done in the 3 days anticipated and the floors are great. the new shoe mold matches the 50 year old floors perfectly. (Our house sold in a week and the floors were critical to the new owners due to allergy issues of the children.) I have recommended them to the new owners in case they want work done in other rooms.

Joe and his team did fantastic work, and provided great customer service. They arrived on time and finished the job earlier than expected. The crew leader who came to my house (I don't recall the name unfortunately) was very friendly and enthusiastic, and genuinely seemed excited to do the work. That's the kind of person I want working on my house. Their work was excellent and he answered all of my questions. Joe also helped me out several weeks later when i needed some new matching molding due to some unrelated work on my bathroom. He had a piece stained and brought it right to the house for me. I couldn't be happier with their service, would definitely use them again.

They were awesome. We got the reviews from Angie's List and called them. They were exactly as stated. We were very happy with them. They did an awesome job. In fact, we'll probably get more in touch with them at some point. They did exactly what they said. Their crew was extremely professional and very meticulous about what they did. They did an awesome job. It was really good.

The project took place over four days during business hours. All staff was very professional and knowledgeable. The floors turned out Great!!!!!!!!

The wood floors look amazing. We are so happy with the results. Kapalua said it would be virtually dustless and it was. We have an open floor plan to the Great Room, and it's been a couple weeks and I only dusted once since they finished.

I had been given Kapalua' s number by a friend who had her new floors installed by them and I loved how they looked. I first called the number and spoke with the receptionist, she was very polite. I told her I was given the number by a friend and that I was in need of having a quote done for getting my floors refinished. She took my name, number and address and set up an appointment time for someone to come and give me a quote. I was scheduled in within the week and when they came to my door promptly at the time we had agreed upon I was impressed, I was further impressed to know that the owner was the one giving me the quote! Joe was very friendly and answered all of my questions and concerns. We even talked about how they decided on naming the company "Kapalua" . Joe made me feel comfortable, it was like talking with a good friend. After our meeting Joe emailed me a quote the next day, I called and set up the job for 3 weeks later. One worker showed up right on time to start the work of sanding, that was done in one day and with very little dust. The second day there were two workers and they finished with the sanding and laid out several stains on the floor so I could see what they would look like. The third day there was only one worker again and the floors were done and ready to walk on with socks when I got home from work. I LOVE how they look!

Went perfectly and punctually from start to finish. Joe was great when he came out and did measurements and gave quote. Gentlemen who did the installation were all here promptly by 8 AM every day and installation went without any hitches. They were all available after the installation for any follow-up questions that I had. And everyone I met and dealt with were all genuinely nice people and all very professional. I would definitely use them again for any hardwood flooring needs.

Timeliness and responsiveness to request for estimate was excellent. Technical knowledge of products was up to date. Pricing was competitive and all-inclusive. Scheduling was flexible. I had Brazilian Cherry floors refinished in kitchen and foyer. We had scratch damage to a previously installed pre-finished floor. James was able to remove all the imperfections for what was a poor installation (done by someone else) and the net result is that my floors look fabulous. I delayed having these floors refinished, concerned about dust, which was unwarranted as the sanding process is 95% dustless as promised. Quality of work performed is enhanced by using Bona sanding, sealing, and top coating products throughout the process. Fresh abrasives and attention to detail resulted in a smooth, flat, consistent floor throughout. I also had new BC floor installed in my den. Again I can't say enough good things about how James was able to match and interface the new floor to the exhausting floor so the work appears seamless along with the rest of the install and finishing process. Nice touches like flush HVAC registers add to the beauty of the installation. Buffing and removing imperfections between finish costs results in a sheen that is smooth and consistent across the surface. I chose satin sheen and I am very happy with the result. Coming from semi-gloss the satin had a warmer / softer feel and shows dust less.

It turned out just as well. They did my neighbor’s floor and she loved them. They are great. I cannot say enough about them. I just love them. Everybody loves them. The quality of their work is outstanding.

We were VERY PLEASED with the work done by Kapalua Floors on our hardwood floors! First of all, when Joe Meyecic came to our home to give us an estimate he explained everything very well and told me about the different options available with the finishes. Joe also gave us "Pre-Job Client Instructions" and "Floor Care and Maintenance" papers and I appreciated having such detailed written instructions. Pat and Louie were the men who came to our home and performed the work and they did an excellent job! They were very meticulous with their work and showed up on time every day. Pat was very good about answering my questions and keeping me informed as to what they were doing each day. The guys did a great job with cleaning up after the job was completed. And they were so careful with their equipment in our home. They were very professional. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business. It was a pleasure to work with a business that strives for and delivers such excellent work.

I'm giving them a D for false advertising. Their Angie's List Service Area says they service Wayne County but it seems they're not aware Detroit is in Wayne County.

They were friendly and knowledgeable. The job was completed timely and looks great.

Kapalua did a fantastic job from start to Finish. Joe M was prompt with providing the initial consultation and estimate. Unfortunately, they were booked solid and the project was put off for more then 1 month. The end result was fantastic. The estimated time was 3 days but Pat was able to complete in just 2. The final color is amazing.

Came to the house to measure & quote. Representative was very knowledgeable about everything to do with the job from wood hardness to what the day by day routine would be. Met our Kapalua rep. at their suppliers and was able to actually see many wood samples in large enough sections to imagine what they would like on our floors. Made the final decision remarkably easy. All arrived promptly on the agreed upon date ready to work. The supervisor introduced the installers and all were beyond nice throughout the job. I want to add that everyone was extremely polite, competent, and a pleasure to have in our home. As the job proceeded we were advised as to what was going to happen next and how far along they had to go. That becomes very important when all your furniture has been stuffed into two rooms and, this is a two story house, you need to climb upstairs to the bathroom. Hooray!! Our floor is done and it's beautiful. This has been an excellent experience and my husband and I both highly recommend Kapalua.

I Just had Kapalua floors complete a floor refinishing job at my home. I choose them based on the previous reviews in Angie's List. I made the right selection in choosing them as the contractor. I first met with Joe to get a quote and timing, plus options for finishes. He was professional, courteous and prompt. He was easy to contact with follow-up questions and concerns. The crew that came to do the work was lead by Pat. I cannot tell you how pleased we are with Pat and crew. Pat is very knowledgeable and professional. I picked his brain about finishing options, and about 1/2 way through the job we changed the stain we wanted to used based on some additional information we got from Pat. I sent Joe an e-mail, and changes were done, quick and easy, no issues. Pat takes pride in his work and it shows in the finished product. His years of experience was evident in the completed work. The floor is flat, smooth and has a perfect finish. All in all, we couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. I highly recommend Kapalua floors. Our floors are red oak, had not been refinished since installation 15 years ago, had some buckling, worn finish, and some water damage. After the work was complete, it looks like the floor is new.
