I liked that Mac Electric was able to accommodate my time but I did not like that their equipment was faulty. They installed it and I had to call them and they had to come back out and replace it. It worked for a day and then it just stopped working. When I called them they said it was their fault. They fixed it right away so no big deal. They did charge me for extra parts even though it was supposed to be part of the original deal.

These guys were great. They were efficient, creative, clean and nice to have around. They installed three new ceiling fixtures, solved a bizarre electrical problem in the kitchen and created a new outlet in the garage. Initially, the garage outlet appeared to be difficult and time consuming. However, after some thought, they came up with a relatively simple and time-saving solution.

It was great. I got more done than I planned for.

Hard to get a hold of on phone. I cancelled one pre-evaluation. They cancelled one. The third try I took off work for a morning appointment set up in a two hour window. By late afternoon I called to complain. Shortly after hanging up, someone calls back and says he'll be there in 5 minutes. If not going to make your morning appointment window, a phone call is warranted. They acted as if , since I was getting such a good deal, I was to put up with it. Not a professional outfit judging by just phone contacts. Would not trust work done would be timely and well organized if you can't plan the pre-evaluation meeting better than they did.

Horrible experience! The Mac Electric service rep complained about having to climb one flight of stairs to the 2nd floor (which he knew about, based on his previous visit for estimating the job). He complained that he didn?t have all the tools he needed. He put his tools on the bed while he worked. (I had to wash the bedspread after he left.) He seemed more interested in telling long, rambling ?jokes? than in doing any work. After installing the new switch, he was unable to put the ceiling fan back together because he said his ? fingers are too big to put the screws back in.? He then sat on the bed and watched, while my husband managed to put the ceiling fan back together. After my husband completed the reassembly, the rep tried to charge us the full amount he?d estimated ($74.25 with the senior citizen discount), even though he had not finished the job. We gave him 80% of that amount ($60.00 cash), and told him to leave. He did so reluctantly, shouting abuse at us all the way out into the driveway. When I hire a professional to do a job, I expect him to be competent. I also hope he will be courteous. This ?professional? was neither. Based on all the positive reviews on Angie?s list, I suspect the service rep they sent out to do our very simple job is not their best man. They should have told us that; we would have been happy to wait for a better service rep on another day.

This turned out to be a rather complex job due to the age of the house. It took them two days to complete the job which wasn't expected but they stood by the original estimate. The work appears to be done well. They were a little lax in their clean-up after the job but over-all a great value.

The electrician didn't show up for the first appointment. Later the scheduler explained that she had a pipe burst due to the cold weather and had to leave work. Apparently MAC is a small company so if one person is out the schedule backs up. The following week we rescheduled and the electrician and his helper arrived at the right time. They worked quickly and were done replacing the wall sockets in less than two hours.

We needed all of our under cabinet lighting replaced in our kitchen. I called and spoke with someone. I was told I could send the information in an email and an estimator would get back to me. Compiled the first email on 12/12/12. Heard nothing for a couple days so I called back to make sure they received the email, they had, was told (again) an estimator would get back to me. Another week went by, my husband called and was told someone would call him back. Nobody ever did. 4 phone calls, 2 emails, and 18 days later, we never got a quote or an explanation from Mac Electric. We gave up.

It all went fine. Had no problem contacting the business. They arrived on time and got the job done.

Splended!! They were prompt, efficient, courteous and very clean.

This is the third time I have used Mac Electric. Each time they have been professional, punctual and efficient. They always go out of their way to suggest or explain anything I bring up. Can't wait to see what their next deal may be!

He was very nice. They came out and fixed my problems in a very timely fashion. He was very knowledgeable about what he was doing and he was very patient. He answered all of my questions, no matter how big or small. He gave me a few suggestions for a other things.

They came in, got it all done, and charged less then I expect. They were quick and inexpensive. I believe they even looked at another receptacle and just turned a loose screw and fixed it at no charge.

He nned to replace a faulty GFI, and provided a needed electric outlet so we did not need to use an extention cord. Worked quickly, and it was done in a manner that required no repair, painting or cleanup Top Notch

We first had a house electrical inspection, so this appointment was to fix the various things that we found. They worked quickly when they were here and were professional. Unfortunately we were the last appointmnent of the week and they were a bit rushed to get out and did not have all the supplies that they may carry earlier in the week. That meant that a couple of plugs could not be replaced as I wished.

I called to schedule an appointment to have the work done. When on the phone, I was suddenly being told that there were maybe going to be additional charges. She wouldn't get specific about the charges with the exception of the $50 trip charge. With the trip charge alone, that would bring the total to $125. I'm only 30 miles away from their address and $50 seems excessive. The receptionist got very defensive when I expressed shock at the amount of the trip charge and asked me if I knew how much gas costs these days. I found myself apologizing to her, which I don't think the situation warranted. I'm not going to use this Big Deal and will be finding another company to do the work.

Did not complete work. Phone calls were not returned.

This was an unorthodox request for an electrician as it involved heating as well as electrical expertise and was not a common request: We desired to remotely turn on the baseboard thermostats for our attic's electric heating system so we did not have go into the cold space just to turn on the heat when we wanted to use the finished attic. In addition, we also wanted the baseboards to be controlled by an accurate thermostat which would be a more efficient way of controlling the temperature of the room. MAC Electric understood what I wanted and had an idea how to accomplish. Their proposal was the best of the three I received from Angie's List. In the end, the job was completed as desired. The process, however, did not commence without issues: 1. upon installation, a hole was accidentally punctured through the drywall when trying running wires down to the switch box (I had to refinish, myself). 2. the wrong switches were originally installed which didn't allow the pilot lights to turn off when the switch was turned off (rendering the pilot lights useless). This required a second visit. 3. A thermostat failed causing one of the switches to correspondingly fail necessitating the replacement of both devices (a third visit). Finally, each visit seemed to take multiple calls on my part as I was not getting return calls after leaving messages.

The team at the office were pleasant, and our appointment was easily setup. They made the appointment window, which is always a great thing as I, like most folks, needed to take time off work because the appointments are during normal business hours. Not knowing how long it takes to do this type of work, I'm not sure if 1.5 hours to check the switch, remove an existing fixture, and install a new fixture is very fast, or just about right, or very slow. I was perhaps overly cautious with the wiring (turns out it was fine). Perhaps part of the extended time was due to the new fixture, which apparently has screws that are just barely long enough to hold it into position; we briefly discussed the length of the screws and why the manufacturer did not make them just a bit longer. The work took however long it took, and the bill was $150 instead of the $75 special offer price, but we are relieved to know there is not fault in the wiring or switch. They perform a service that I would be uncomfortable doing on my own, and I'm grateful for the work. Again, the new fixture works great, the area was cleaned up afterwards, and the fellow was pleasant and friendly. It certainly makes sense to not rush when working with electricity, and we're very happy with the new fixture and the confidence in our wiring.

My husband was quite pleased. The person came promptly; checked out what needed to be done; quoted a price and confirmed a return date of January 3. On January 3 electrician came and put up light fixtures. Was very pleasant and did a great job. Will be using them again!

Used an Angie's list special to have Mac Electric install an additional outlet in my family room. A husband and wife team initially visited the house, and my husband reviewed a laundry list of proposed electrical projects with them. According to my husband, they spent quite a bit of time with him and were very helpful. They followed up as promised with a quote for the various different proposals. At this point, all we've had done is one outlet installation, which was done quickly and professionally. When we're ready to proceed with some of the more complicated projects, we will be happy to use Mac Electric again.

The work was done quickly and professionally. Site was cleaned afterwards. This was the second time that I've used this company. I didn't hesitate to use them again and will them use them again.

Things went extremely well, he fixed the broken lights and installed the new one. Everything was great.
