He was a nice guy and arrived on time but the price was extremely high compared to the other estimates I received.

They were very pleasant and professional. He was nice to work with. I would double-check the time frame, price and who is completing the work before the work begins. It might be more profitable to price the job instead of hourly.

The work turned out really well! There was a water leak from rain under the door and they were really good about finding it, fixing it and it has been great ever since.

They are highly priced, and I didn't feel as though they followed up well upon completion of the work.

Everything was great. They did excellent work, were very professional, and used quality materials. In fact, they are one of the best companies that I have ever dealt with over the years, and I am a master plumber who's been in construction since 1968. Furthermore, they have been very quick to respond to a manufacturer's issue with the door. Mr. McCarter even came out to inspect the work himself.

Overall, they worked quickly and did a good job. However, there was an issue with some venting on the side of the house, and I felt as though it could have been handled better. I also feel as though they worked a bit too quickly which concerns me.

John McCarter Construction showed up on time and put together a very good quote; a very thorough quote with pictures and everything. He let us know exactly what was included and offered a couple of options. We might have John McCarter Construction do the work. It's just that we are waiting on the insurance companies to know what's going on.

From the time that I first signed the contract giving John McCarter the job I had to wait almost three months before the job started. The date I was originally promised just kept getting delayed several times. When the job finally started I noticed that the alignment of the new siding did not match what was on my home. I called the foremen to tell him it didn't match. He told me that there are different sizes of siding and that they ordered the larger size. He proceeded to tell me he only ordered what I told them to order. I don't ever recall making any such specification and returned to my contract documents to see if I inadvertently signed something stating that. I saw nothing in the contract documents indicating anything about size or that I told them a given size to use. I know that the salesmen made mention of the different sizes, but the time since the signing of the contract and the start of the job was several months, but even so I don't recall making any verbal agreement at that time related to size. The resolution to the problem was that I could get the size siding that I wanted only if I were to pay for all the materials and labor that went into the installation of the wrong product, and then pay full price to have the correct size siding put up. That was a deal I was unwilling to accept, so I have different size siding on one side of my house. This whole situation was handled in an extremely unprofessional fashion. I myself have worked as a Construction Project Manager in the past, so I am not unfamiliar with hiring contractors, I know how the process works. Unfortunately, it did not work too well in this case. I expected more especially from a preferred contractor. Everything aside, the quality of the installation was very good.

They were very good. They did the work in one day. They provided timely work and did an excellent job.

It was all fine; they did a good job and I was happy with them. They were very responsive and addressed my concerns.

I chose them because I saw them in the neighborhood. I was very irritated by the price. The services were average, I had to have them come back and have them fix things that they didn't do right the first time. I have a chimney chase and a wood chimney, it's an 18 year old house and the previous owners let it go so I figured they had the skills to do it. To me it cost a little bit too much, but having to have them come back out several times to get it right without any compensation or anything was kind of irritating. I wasn't happy about the hourly rate but he kind of explained the price - he said he had 3 guys out there working a certain amount of hours, but it could take one guy 3 times as long and I would still pay the same amount. They weren't jerks but they weren't offering a discount.

They had good craftsmanship but did not clean up that well once they were done. I would use them again in the future.

They were extremely rude. I asked them questions and they just didn't answer what I was asking. I called them and talked to the owner and he was also rude. I asked them to leave because they weren't answering my questions. Their customer service is terrible.

I got a quote from McCarter. I had a little problem getting the quote signed and returned to them electronically, but once that was taken care of everything went smoothly. The workers showed up right on time, and were very professional and prompt. I am very satisfied with their work.

The original quote was not for just the involved areas but was quickly corrected.The work was done with professionalism and on schedule, we were very pleased, all phone calls answered immediately or very shortly after leaving message.

The crews did excellent work, and there have been very few issues over the past four years. Any issues that we did have were dealt with promptly and without question. In fact, I still receive compliments about the quality of the work. My only complaint was that hundreds of nails were left around the property after the roofing job.

I used John McCarter's Repair service to fix my Rotten Wood Chimney Chase. They left the job as if they were done, but did not finish the job as requested. They did come back and repair and finish the job in a professional manner. The Rate of $60/man hour seems quite high to me, but I could not do the work my self due to the location and terain.

The roofing job went well. Overall we were happy with them. They were not very good with the cleanup but they came back and made good on it. They did a good job. We would use them in the future if needed.

I could not be happier with the process and the results. All of the workers were professional in behavior and their work. A foreman was always on-site, and the project manager was on site regularly. The entire process - siding, windows, roof, and painting of eaves/gutters - was completed in less than 4 weeks, including several days of delays due to weather. A few minor problems were corrected immediately.
