Exceptional! First off they returned my call in a timely manner. Two, they were able to fit me into their schedule a couple of days ahead of their projected timing. The two guys that came were awesome. Both were professional, personable and knowledgeable. They explained the what needed to be done, how long it would take and did a great job in matching the new shingles to my 15 year old roof. Upon completion, they did a roof inspection and noted a couple of areas that needed to be addressed. I would definitely hire John McCarter Construction again.

Had McCarter Construction out twice for two issues. Each time they were prompt with good communication about arrival. They thoroughly explained the issues with the roof and siding they found. Each time they came in the middle of their estimate range. James and Patrick were professional on site. I will certainly call them if future needs arise.

They were able to come out way earlier than expected due to some other jobs being rescheduled. Installation went fine (my husband was home for part of it) and the soffit looks great. We are very happy and will be using them again for some exterior painting.

John called me the next morning and was able to do the repair that same day. I would definitely refer this company to anyone.

Not only were they able to assess the work and give me an estimate over email, but they were able to schedule the work 3 days later. This was important because the exposed wood would have become damaged due to the weather. The crew came out right on time, and was done with the work in exactly an hour. The cost was minimal and the results are flawless.

I called approximately 15 contractors before finding John McCarter. From beginning to end, the staff at John McCarter did what they said they were going to do. They did a wonderful job on our house at a reasonable price. The crew was a pleasure. I would definitely recommend John McCarter to anyone looking to install James Hardie siding on their home.

McCarter Construction was very professional in guiding us through the process. They helped with the design, and were able to give us options to fit our budget. The installers did quality work, showed up when scheduled, and were excellent with clean up each day and communication. Having worked with other remodelers over the years, we would say that this was about as good of an experience that one could hope for. They may have cost a bit more up front, but we're not able to pay twice to get a job done, so the initial extra will prove to be worth it over the years.

Very well. They were quick to answer all phone calls and were always there when they said they would be. When they missed a few spots the first time they came right out and fixed the problem.

Installation went well. I didn't like how one window opened and McCarter ordered a new one to open the way I preferred. When we weren't 100% satisfied with some of the interior woodwork, they came out and replaced the sections we requested, without a problem. The entire project took quite a while, but it was all worth it. Every person we dealt with was professional, understanding, and willing to please. You don't get that kind of treatment with companies these days.

We are very satisfied with the completed project: the siding looks beautiful and very well installed, including trim around a two story cloverleaf window. The painted trim and gutters also look very well done. There were a few problems such as incorrectly painted window trim and two windows being blocked by siding so that they couldn't be opened. When we contacted the site supervisor these things were corrected. Our biggest disappointed was in how long the project took to start and be completed. This estimated 2-4 week project took closer to 7 weeks, with delayed starts, the siding crew working short hours and taking unexpected time off, a painting crew not being available when needed, and some rain (understandable). Overall, we felt there was a lack of site supervision by management. When I called with concerns the site supervisor listened but more than once commented that our house was out of his regular area and a very long drive. Ultimately the problems were taken care of satisfactorily but since we were the customer, paying a large sum for the project, we felt we merited more personal attention and site visits other than at the beginning and the end of the project.

McCarter Construction was quick with a competitive bid and right on time on the days of repair. The crew was very thorough and even found an additional area that need repair. I really appreciated the professional service that they provided.

The service was great. The Technicians were on time, friendly, paid attention to details and performed great work.

Removed aluminum clad "post" which had rotted and had moved partially off supporting porch. They found the post was actually made from four 1 x 6's pieces of pine built in a square and hollow on the inside. I wanted the new post to match the other post on the porch, so they had to be creative here. They took a 4 x 4 pressured treated post, covered it with 1 x 6 pine cut to fit (except for the bottom 12 inches). The bottom foot was covered with 1 x 6 AZEK to prevent rotting. Then the whole post was covered with aluminum to match the other post and the roof framing. The whole structure was plumbed and leveled and the post attached to the porch to prevent it from wandering in the future. They also reattached a piece of the aluminum siding on a corner on the second story above the porch. While assessing the porch situation noted above, they noticed a leak in the outside corner of a gutter on the second story above the porch. Since they were here and my ladder doesn't reach high enough for me to fix, I had them reseal that as well. No problem. I had them here for two other outside jobs (replace front door and install screen door) and have always been pleased with their work. They always meet their commitments and stay until you are pleased. Very professional... both the office and the workers.

John McCarter construction was very professional and delivered a quote quickly. It took quite a while (weeks to a month or so) for them to start the job. However, once started, the construction team was here every day until the job was done. The construction team was nice guys who seemed to work well with one another. The clean up job after was good, too. Office staff was very helpful with financing-they found me a good lender with 0% finance fee. I would use them again for sure.

McCarter Construction is a family business, and all the family members are extremely helpful and professional. The owner came to our house for the original appointment/assessment, and the family members were involved with the daily work and/or followed up as necessary. We were very impressed with all the sub-contractors they used as well. Every person involved with this project had a good work ethic and treated us with the utmost respect. I highly recommend McCarter Construction and will definitely use them for future projects.

Removed old cedar shake and aluminum siding from a 1950's ranch house and replaced with James Hardie siding, and new gutters and soffits. Added Hardie Posts on front porch to reinforce roof overhang. The crew were polite, professional and did good work. Crew lead Jessie was great. The finished work looks fantastic. Communication with John McCarter and staff was smooth. Their quote format was a bit tricky, and it took me several rounds of communications in order to break it down into a more common line itemized format. I had a small punch list of cleaning items at the end of the job, and they took care of them satisfactorily. I am absolutely happy to recommend McCarter Construction to others.

They did everything we asked and the follow through was very good but the quality in two areas ( caulking and metalwork) could have been a little bit better if it had been a seasoned crew. They tried to please us and it wasn't their fault that they were not quite up to what we thought we were getting. We gave the crew and John Mc Carter project manager a punch list of items to fix and/or finish before final walk through. The crew came on time, worked hard and long hours. Kept outside area picked up, organized and clean.The items were completed to our satisfaction. We do have one problem spot on the house that we are monitoring and McCarter is aware of. Waiting for the weather to get better to correct problem area.

No work was performed since they would not provide a quote (even though they promised one multiple times). I'm glad I didn't hire them because I don't expect good results from a company that lies and doesn't want to put anything in writing.

This is the second time this year that we have hired John McCarter Construction and were again pleased with the quality of their work. The crew arrived on time on the date promised. The crew chief Jerry and Brad from the office walked the property with me and reviewed the project details. The crew then went to work. They cleaned up the job site at the end of each day and were done in the two and a half days as estimated. The crew was careful of the flower beds and deck covering them with plywood and drop cloths.. The entire crew was polite and considerate. Jerry, the crew chief, was patient and answered my questions. He reviewed the options for shingling the screen porch which has a shallow pitch. Jerry has excellent customer relationship skills in addition to crew management and technical skills. I would highly recommend John McCarter Construction.

I feel like the work was not fully completed, but did not realize till after payment was made. Now they will not complete the job stating that it was not included in the quote. On 3/25 John McCarter come out and quoted me for adding soffit ventilation. He suggested using truvent soffit material which comes in a color to match the color of the house and it would give me exceptional air flow. I ended up going with this system due to the color match and it seemed like he would go the extra mile if needed. So installation day came and no one showed up, I called the office and someone stated that I was on the schedule and they were probably running late due to early morning rain. So I waited and waited still no one came. I called and left a message for John. He called back quickly and said that I should have received an email stating that the job was postponed due to rain, which I never received. The job started 2 days later and looked good from the exterior (assuming that all work behind the soffit was done correctly). I received an invoice through email and promptly paid. Two weeks later I had a ceiling fan put in which required work in the attic, while the ladder was there I snuck a peek in the attic to see that there was no baffles installed between the roof and the insulation which butts right up to each other. I called McCarter construction and talked with Bradley, he agreed that I needed the baffles to get the ventilation I was looking for but stated that it was not in the quote to install baffles. He stated that he would talk with John to see a resolve. They discussed with each and stated that I would have to pay an additional $400 or so to get the baffling installed. I have talked with several contractors all of which stated that the baffling should be included with the soffit install. Today my wife called a second time to see if we could work something out but they are standing behind their story "it was not in the quote". In the end I paid $1700 for decorative trim that currently serves no purpose, even though I specifically requested soffit ventilation when John came to quote me, now I will have to hire another contractor to finish the job at an additional expense. Use caution when working with this company.

I contacted McCarter about an exterior repair that went very well, so I asked them to quote me on an exterior door replacement. The door is in the master bedroom and exits onto a covered porch, so the quality of the work was important. John made helpful suggestions on door style and construction, and the work was performed on time (the door was a custom order). The installer was very knowledgeable and the door was installed perfectly, and clean up was thorough. The price was very reasonable, I felt, for the quality of both the door and the installation. This is my second experience with McCarter for different services, and what I think really distinguishes them is the fact that they put employees on jobs who really know what they are doing. I'm sure you may be able to find cheaper providers, but I feel I got quality work at a fair price. Highly recommended.

Excellent work. The crew that performed the work knew what they were doing and how to fix the problem. The problem was fixed, the siding (brick, stone and shingle) was replaced, painted (where appropriate) and perfectly matched. They cleaned up the entire area. All in all, it was a reasonable price for expert repairs. I was very satisfied.

They were very professional. They came when they said they were going to come. Everything was good, but the price was just much higher. So I neglected to go follow through with them. The quote was probably between $8000 and $9000. They were pretty consistent. They explained what they were going to do. I would rate them very highly. I just went with a lower cost provider. My overall experience with them was good. I was satisfied. Their attentiveness was good. The price was a little out of line. Everything went really well as far the estimate goes.

Repaired water damaged hardie panel siding on chimney that was originally installed by Kearns Brothers. They were proficient, professional and easy to work with.. Overall good experience

Sales/ advice process was very professional; top notch crew that paid attention to details. Went the extra yard to see everything was right. Have called on McCarter again with similar results.
