Showed up as scheduled, found more damage than anticipated but gave breakdown and estimate of price before continuing. Tradesmen were great to work with and completed in projected time frame.

Outstandingly to say the least! The repair man (James) came out two weeks ahead of the scheduled repair and took a sample cut out of one side to match the texture and color of the original material. Fortunately the texture was available from several sources but we learned the sun had indeed cause a serious fading of its color. So, the cut sample of material was then used to match the faded color with the rest of the undamaged surround which had also faded but was not being replaced. That was so the new material wouldn't look different than the other surrounding material. In the end it, was repair perfect (and I am really picky). Also, dealing with scheduling revisions was easy .... and ....the office people were knowledgeable of what the repair people would be doing. Just a great company to work with - wish I had found them years ago!

They gave a very reasonable quote to replace damaged shingles and gutters due to a bad storm. They were responsive and were very quick to get the job done. Great work and would highly recommend.

We hired John McCarter Construction to roof our home in the Spring of 2017 after damage from a windstorm. They were very fast to return any calls and I feel like they went out of their way to help us out after we got involved with a nightmare roofing company. John McCarter came out and secured up all of our temporary tarps that were installed by the first roofing company after one of them caused a water leak in our master bedroom. Maryanne in the office was always very sweet and helpful on the phone, I would hire them again. Our roof was done sooner than they estimated, looks amazing and they cleaned up well!

Repair was quick and efficient. Was only charged for the work done and wasn't tried to be sold anything extra. Would definitely hire them again.

It took a little while to get them out here, but once here, the job was done quickly and efficiently, and the new siding matches better than I thought it would.

In the end both projects went very well and look excellent. The first job, the replacement of the exterior wood of our bay window was the primary job I requested a quote from them. After having two larger companies come out for a quote, but not actually provide one, I found John McCarter on Angie's list. The rep, Steve, came out within days of me asking for a quote and provided me a quote to replace the rough saw pine wood with James Hardie fiber cement board. I had sent them photos of the job prior to them coming out so that they knew what I was asking them to do. Quote was a very good price and I asked them to set a date for the work. While he was out, he asked if there was anything else I was looking to do. I told him I wanted to have the wood trim on the home re-painted, since it had been 6 years since it was done. He said he could provide a quote for that work also. I said go ahead and provide quote. I also went out and asked two other painters for a quote. One was a no show and the other provided me a slightly higher price for the same work as John McCarter. So I hired them for both projects in early June. Initial target was to have the bay window done at end of June and painting was to be end of July. Bay window ended up slipping to the end of July due to availability of the James Hardie in the color that matched our trim. But the person doing the scheduling, Gillis, kept me updated with their status so the delays were not the fault of John McCarter. They ended up doing the bay window on July 27 and the painting was done on July 31. Window took one full day, the painting was 2 days. Both jobs went well, and look great. I was happy to see the painters power wash the siding first, then caulk all the necessary spots that needed it before they did their painting. Both crews did a good job cleaning up, for the most part. I did have to go around and clean up the window job a little bit, since some scrap material got into the landscaping. No big deal from my side. I was very pleased with the way they worked. I will most definitely call them again for any work that I need that they can do.

This company was very easy to work with. They responded promptly to my original request for an estimate and did the work in a timely fashion. There was always someone immediately available to discuss the project as it progressed, without playing phone or e-mail tag. James in particular was very helpful in this regard. Our technician Nick was knowledgable and professional, and a pleasure to work with. This is a company that "gets" customer service. Would not hesitate to call them for future roofing or construction needs.

After wind damage blew of a some siding, I called John McCarter Construction in South Lyon. I did this based on previous reviews on several web sites. They responded immediately to my inquiry and gave me a quote. Even though this was probably a pretty small and easy job for them, they followed up my inquiry TWICE within a couple of weeks. This made me feel better about the company, which I new nothing of prior to this. We agreed and they sent their people out the following day. Their employees who was doing the job, called me when they showed up and kept me informed about the progress, and gave me a call as soon as they where done. TWO THUMBS UP FOR GREAT SERVICE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will definitely call John McCarter Construction again when I need something done.

We contracted with McCarter because they were recommended as a licensed installer of James Hardie siding in our area. After signing our proposals with McCarter in September, we waited two months for a date when their crews could come out which turned out to be the same day we had a 10" snow. My contact with McCarter assured me that working in that weather would be fine, but we ended up with one of the worst contracting jobs we have had done. They were to remove and replace several areas of damaged siding on our house, some on the second level. After the crew finished, small pieces of debris were everywhere hidden in the snow. We even had pop bottles left in the snow on the roof that came down when the snow melted. Workmanship was also problematic, but what was worse was the follow-through when we raised concerns. One facia board in particular took three times to have crews come out and even then, rather than replacing the full board, they patched it. In the spring when crews were sent out to paint the siding that had been replaced, they were told only to paint the siding not the trim that was damaged by the construction or that had been replaced. When I complained, other workers were sent out to paint the trim, but they only dabbed paint on the damaged areas of the trim, leaving a very patched appearance to the paint job. They also neglected to paint the facia board that had been replaced and was a different shade of white. After frustration with the entire job, I negotiated a smaller price for the painting portion of the job and will complete the remaining painting myself. What really bothered me was the management's lack of concern for oversight/doing quality work. Not once did any of the individuals who estimated or set up the job come out to see what was done

Very well. They emailed me an estimate of expected costs and services. I gave the OK and they came out and were very quick and professional. I have more work that I need done and I will contact them again.

I used this company to help me with some siding issues on my home. Sean Mattson came out to do an assessment to see what I needed. He didn't pressure nor try to oversell me. A few days later two guys came to work on my siding and they did an amazing job! The were able to fix the construction issues I had and salvaged my siding, which saved me a ton!

Very well. Their repair crew came out on the day I originally scheduled and completed work very efficiently. All service work was scheduled by email too. Price quoted and paid was very reasonable. First time customer and very pleased. Will definitely use them again for other home repairs in the future.

I received a quick response to my email. Service was provided as stated with calls keeping me up to date with work progress. They even noticed what could have been a possible leak in the roof and repaired that as well. They were a pleasure to work with and I would call on them again. I also got a follow up call from the owner himself.

I called McCarter the next day and was told that they would have someone out Monday. They called back a little later and moved it up to Saturday and then Friday morning called first thing and came out and patched up the roof. The work was great. The timing the best. People around us still have tarps on their roofs. When we replace the roof, it will be McCarter that does the work. They came highly recommended and with good reason.
