We thought it was time to have the septic system cleaned so we simply went to Angie's list to find a vendor. Looked at a few and chose the top ranked company based upon the number of positive responses and Angie's seal for Super Service Award. Placed a call and spoke to Jake who explained the general process to me; how long it would take to fixing the lawn after their dig etc. We established a price and set the date for service. A very nice young man showed up on time, provided the service and made some helpful observations. He cleaned up after himself and collected a check in the amount discussed and left. We are very pleased with the overall service and are now on a four year schedule with this fine company.

Jake was very knowledgeable and gave me a crash-course on everything I should need to know about septic tanks, fields, etc. While doing the inspection, they found a small issue with the outlet baffle and managed to make the repair right then and there. They were very courteous, prompt and were very careful digging the lids up which were partially covered by pre-existing flower beds. After they left, we noticed a bit of an oil stain on our concrete from their vehicle. I called the following Monday morning to give them a heads up and they were very apologetic and responsive. I came home and they had come back out and put down some product on the driveway to clean up the oil. I have a 1500 gallon tank which they cleaned/inspected for $210. Digging up two lids cost $25/each. Replacing the outlet baffle was $150. Peace of mind that I won't have sewage issues backing into my home --- priceless. I will definitely use this company in the future. I feel very comfortable and confident in the services I received and highly recommend them.

Provided me with a background of what the cost would be as well as what the cost would be for locating the tank lids. The tank was emptied pretty quickly and the tank was found to be in good working order. I was appreciative that it was suggested that based on our household usage, the tank should be good for at least 5 years before needing another cleaning, emptying, and inspection.

Jake arrived when promised and did a complete pump out of my tank followed by a careful inspection of the system as a whole. He even took the time to make sure everything was working by having me flush a couple toilets before sealing and recovering the tank. No other septic service provider had ever done that in the past, so I was quite impressed. The cost was also extremely reasonable. I had been paying a lot more for a lot less service. I will definitely use D&J in the future for all my future septic services.

Technician was great. I've not lived in the house long enough to know where the 2 lids are located. He happily dug up the one I access lid I couldn't find free of charge! Also made a recommendation that we only perform the service every 3 years due to the calculations he made. Also, Jake was able to move up my appointment by 2 weeks due to me already having dug up one lid. I will definitely use them next time around. This is my first use of Angie's List and it's worth the cost of membership by this first job alone.

Overall did a quick and efficient job. The one disappointment was the appointment was scheduled for around 11a and they did not come until around 3p. They were nice enough to call and let us know around 1030a that there was a delay due to another job, but still my wife had planned her day around being there when they did the inspection to agree to the cleaning or other work.

Jake seemed to be a wealth of knowledge regarding septic system issues. He told me that he and his dad run the business so he is second generation and has been doing this since he was a kid. Right now I'm having some issues with my field and I wasn't sure what I was going to do next. Jake put forth a number of options even though some of them wouldn't benefit his business. I liked him because he is a local guy but more importantly I feel he gave me some honest evaluations. That's the type of service people that I want to come to my house when I have a problem. He struck me as trustworthy and his prices were fair. Next time I need septic service, I'll be calling D &J again.

Prompt arrival and excellent service. I had already uncovered tank lids to speed things up. Company advised me to replace my effluent tank outlet due to improper venting /angle of pipe outlet to prevent possible siphoning and prevent the chance for passing solids to my drain field. He continued to pump down both tanks while I went to purchase pvc materials, and installed it at no additional cost to me, and even provided the proper primer/cement. Would use again and could readily answer all of my questions.

The gentleman that came out for D & J went way over and above what I expected. As this is the first home that I ever had with a septic system and I had a problem with drainage I called D & J from Angie's List. Instead of just hooking up the truck to the septic tank, charging me and then leaving, the technician opened the tank and then came and got me. He showed me that the tank was almost brand new and there wasn't hardly anything for him to remove. He then spent about 30 minutes examining all parts of the system and his final diagnosis was that there had to be a blockage somewhere further up the sewage line. Turns out he was right. There ended up being a root incursion that had balled up and blocked the sewer line. So he serviced the system, inspected the system and taught me what I needed to know about septic tanks in general and my specific septic tank. All for a very reasonable price.

I was very pleased with their work, thought they were very thorough, polite and knowledgeable. I will hire them again in the future.

I originally tried emailing D & J Septic to set up an appointment after reading their reviews on Angie's List. They never replied. After a week of waiting for a reply, I called to set the appointment up. I gave them a "C" in responsiveness since they say you can contact them via email. That's the only complaint I have with them . They were very polite over the phone, answering all of my questions and beyond. They quoted me $350.00. They arrived within the 2-hour window they had told me and located our septic tank without much trouble (we recently moved to this house and were given no paperwork to identify where the tank could be). After emptying the tank, they came to the door and asked me to flush a couple of toilets to make sure everything is draining in the right way. When they were done (in about an hour) they said that since our tank had only one lid instead of two, the price gets dropped to $325.00. I appreciate the honesty since I wouldn't have known one way or the other how many lids there were or how they even price their work. Overall, they were on time, helpful and honest. I'll use them again.

I went with DJ Septic from the reviews posted here at AL and was not disappointed. They were on-time, professional, and very fair on pricing. For a new homeowner and first time septic user, Jake provided invaluable information about how the system works and pointers and precautions for its use and treatment. A+ all-around!

They came out to assess what needed to be done to our septic. Where great in telling me what was wrong and the procedure needed to correct as well as how the septic worked. However said it would be two weeks until they could do the job. Then no one ever called or came again. We called and asked for a return phone call to let us know if they would like the job or not. No one ever returned our call. We went with another company on Angie's List that was very professional and has taken care of our problem.

D&J Septic was great from quote to finished service. Price was in line with the other two quotes we received but they were $50 cheaper so we went with them. We got more than we expected from this company. They showed up on time and performed the service. The bonus was he took the time to educate my wife and I about the septic system and how it works. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Jake just finished draining my septic tank and I was very impressed. He explained how everything worked with my septic and thoroughly inspected the tank and talked me through everything he was doing. He also dug up and replaced the sod nicely. He explained how best to maintain my system and explained everything so well I didn't have any questions at the end. Friendly and professional service and I will definitely use them them in the future. Highly recommend!

It was the best possible experience for something that you really don't want to have to spend money on. Eric Kinney from D & J did a great job.

As a result, I better understood how to make a decision regarding the septic tanks. Based on this experience with Jake, I would recommend that their service be seriously considered.

We bought our house about 6 months ago. This is the first house with a septic tank that we have owned. The previous owners didn't recall the last time the tank had been pumped, so I opted to call D&J for some spring cleaning. I spoke with Keith to set up the appointment. Jake, Keith's son, arrived on time and briefed us on the process. Midway through the job, he brought me outside to explain how the septic system works and to answer all my questions. He dug up the sod and replaced it neatly. Jake was punctual, courteous and professional. We will be using D&J for our scheduled septic cleanings.

I could not be happier with the service. Not only did they come out on a weekend but I only had to wait about 3 hours for them to get there. I have never lived in a house with a septic field so the company owner walked me thur the whole thing so I knew what was going on. The septic field had been neglected as previous owner had done nothing for a long long time. D and J worked hard for a long time to fix the problems. Everything was done right and you could not have asked for a more professional company.

The entire experience was great -- I learned lots and enjoyed doing business with D&J.
