 + 0 moreCalled Jan at Mr. fix it and Adam came over at a preset time and gave us an estimate. He told us exactly what would happen, what the estimate included and what to expect. We didn't pay a dime until finished and the project was completed. This took about a weekend and they rechecked their work the following week. Adam then came by and checked again. all was finished and we would definitely call them again for any issues.
Description of Work: Bathtub had begun intermittently leaking to dining room ceiling from second floor. A small hole was cut out and the pipes wee checked the entire weekend for a leak. We filled the tub, drained, filled and drained and eventually the source was found,. A small leak in the basement was also worked on and we were then confident that we still needed a construction person to come in and hydraulically fix the leak after Mr. Fix it tried to. There were no guarantees for this one and the price to attempt was very reasonable. We were then convinced that we could call someone else and the amount it should cost to fix this. We were told from the beginning that this may or may not fix the issue and what to expect. No surprises.

 + -1 moreI'm THRILLED with the results. It took three days to do all the work, and at the end of each day the worksite was neat and tidy. Rob (the workman) also surprised me by bringing up all my laundry and wash supplies from the basement. I love these guys!
Description of Work: The Fabulous Mr. Fix It converted my small third bedroom into a laundry room. This included putting the electrical on a dedicated circuit, running the plumbing, running the dryer vent, installing a drainage tray under the washer, and moving both appliances upstairs from my basement. They also color-matched and repainted one wall.

 + 0 moreThey have done many jobs for us and they are truly fabulous. They crafted the banister themselves, they bought all the parts and made a very unique banister. They've also fixed plumbing, added bathroom and attic fans, worked on light switches, etc. They done a lot of things and we really like them. It was well worth the money. They are friendly, on time, check up on their work, very, very clean in the house and careful to not drag in anything. They clean up beautifully after themselves. We've had four different people from their company come out and Adam, who is in charge of them, always comes out to check on them. They've done a great job and we've referred our neighbors to them.
Description of Work: Fabulous Mr. Fix It most recently made a banister for our stairs.

 + 0 moreHe is a handyman. They did a good job on some things. My husband thought that some of the water damage was because of a high window that needed to be replaced and he thought the sill was rotting out. They checked it and said it was not the case and that there was a leak somewhere else. We also bought a window from another company. When they came to put the window in, there was in fact a lot of rot in the sill and they replaced it. Mr. Fix It missed that. We preferred to have the other company fix it because Mr. Fix It didn't fix it. My husband thinks they charged too much for what they did. A year ago they did similar kind of work and they didn't seem to charge that much then. They had 2 guys working together just to caulk around the siding that needed to be caulked and my husband thinks they didn't. They were just inflating the price. That is my husband's opinion. They came in and left some work undone. One of the guys was injured while doing something else. We had to call them and they asked us if we still wanted them to come back. They were punctual for the individual appointments. They did do a good job on certain things. We would hire them again depending on the work.
Description of Work: Fabulous Mr. Fix It did repairs to the living room where there was water damage and replaced some siding with cedar on our house.

 + 0 moreFrom the time Adam came to scope out (and offer an estimate for) the job until the time everything (wiring, lighting, wall patching & painting) was done, everything was superb! It took less than two weeks from the estimate to completing the work, itself. The guys (two, and at times, three -- including Adam, the owner) were focused, professional, courteous, and remarkably concerned about leaving the rooms as clean as they found them at the start. They asked me for my opinions and feelings at several points along the way. I found them to be friendly, highly efficient, sensitive to our interests, and remarkably good at getting the job done right. They all seemed to me to take a great deal of pride in their work and concern about how I felt relative to the quality of both their work and of my overall experience with the company, itself.

 + 1 moreThey were prompt in giving me a quote and setting up an appointment. One workman arrived on time but when he got there he didn't seem to have any idea of what he was supposed to do. I called Jan (the receptionist) and within 10 minutes the owner Adam called me back to apologize and explained what had happened to my satisfaction. they called to check in about the job when they needed me to make a decision. The quality of the work was excellent and they cleaned up after themselves completely. I had no complaints except a niggling feeling that I could have gotten the job done for less. However, everytime I look around at the quality of the work, I remind myself that you get what you pay for. Friends have since told me they think the price was not too high. I am totally satisfied and will use them again
Description of Work: They took down shower doors and patched the walls; removed a 12 X 20 pagoda, replaced a door in the back of the garage and patched concrete on a patio.

 + -1 moreI had a good experience with him. Adam Nola is the owner. I spent about $7000 on the project. The price was a little more than what I wanted to spend. However, the quality of the work was very good. I had no clue how to remodel a bathroom. My husband had all kinds of requests. Adam was able to do what we both needed. He was good. I left the job in his hands. I didn?t want to be bothered with the details. He took off on the job while I was doing other things. The people, who worked with him, were very nice. It was a good experience for which I didn?t mind paying a little more. It was worth it. However, the painting wasn?t quite finished in the corner. Everything else was fine. I would use his services again in the future.

 + -1 moreThe work performed was done correctly , the workmen arrived on time and the different workmen coordinated their schedules to get everything done in one day. Scheduling took a little more effort than it should have, once I received an estimate, I waited for the scheduler to call to set up the work date. Apparently my order was misplaced and I needed to call them to get the work scheduled. Once that was done everything went smoothly and I'm very satisfied with the work.

 + -1 moreI used Mr. Fix it to help with two small repairs at a rental property and they did an excellent job. They give a set amount of time for anything you need done (90 minutes I believe) for a set minimum charge (maybe $115). The ratio of minimum time to minimum cost was favorable when compared to other local handy services. They were willing to deal directly with the tennant and when my tennant had follow up questions about the repairs, Mr Fix it was very responsive.
Description of Work: They fixed a loose step and a leaky faucet.

 + 2 moreHiring The Fabulous Mr. Fix It to do our home improvement project was a really good decision. Adam and and his men were very personable and a pleasure to have around, they were very professional and did a great job. I plan to hire them in the future to do more work when needed.
Description of Work: I needed a handyman to do tasks such as install new lighting in the bathroom, replace a number of electrical outlets and switches, install paneling in my basement, replace new light fixtures in the basement and repair and install rails for an existing drop ceiling in the basement. We plan to lease our home very soon and the work had to be completed quickly. While I was waiting for another quote from a different handyman company, I found The Fabulous Mr. Fix It on Anige's List. This company was rated very highly on Angie's List as well as on the BBB website. Adam, the owner of the company, was able to come to my home within a few days and give me an estimate for the work that I needed to have done. Adam was able to start the work the VERY SAME DAY that he gave me the estimate!!! This was the same day that I received the quote from the other company which was 10 DAYS after their initial visit to my home. Not only were the contractors at Fabulous Mr. Fix It extremely efficient at giving me the estimate and starting the work but, they do great work! I was so happy that Adam was able to complete the lighting and other electrical work the way that I wanted it in the bathroom. Other contractors said it couldn't be completed without going into the attic. Also, Adam made helpful suggestions and brought my attention to safety concerns with the some of the wiring that was done previously. The bathroom is so much better that I almost regret moving . . . almost. Adam's workers did a great job in the basement with the lighting and paneling. The other company said that they would have to build a box using the drop ceiling materials around the plumbing in the rafters in the basement but Adam's guys had the knowledge and skill to avoid having to do that.

She was thorough and made sure the person sent to do the job would have the right equipment (including a taller ladder for one of the ceiling fans). Dave showed up on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. A week later, I had a question about a delay on the ceiling fan's light, and owner Adam Nola came out to check on it (an issue with the fan, not the work). I was very pleased with the professionalism of both Dave and Adam and recommend the Fabulous Mr. Fix It completely.

 + 2 moreI called The Fabulous Mr. Fix It based on his reviews on Angie's List. I have to say, his excellent reputation is well-earned. I provided a "punch list" to Rob and Adam that contained MANY different items. At first I was dubious that they would be able to handle such a broad set of repairs, however, Adam assured me they could "do anything inside your house." Adam and Rob were extremely professional during the time they were in my house, and they were in fact able to complete almost every item on my punch list. (The one item they could not do was repair an exhaust fan due to the age of the motor. They did, however, offer me alternatives that would work just as well.) Here's an exhaustive list of what was done: 1) in bathroom recaulked tub, replaced toilet with supply line, wax ring and flange bolts, replaced tub drain assembly, replaced tub diverter, repaired shower curtain, installed magnetic latches on cabinets, 2) in hallway installed magnetic latches on storage cupboards, replace light bulb, 3) in kitchen replaced sink trap and basket, installed icemaker line, grounded kitchen outlets, replaced light fixture, 4) in bedroom flipped light switch, installed ceiling fan/light, grounded 2 outlets, 5) in office grounded outlets and replaced light fixture, 6) in living room grounded one outlet, 6) in basement bathroom repaired toilet, repaired leaking shower head, 7) in laundry room installed new washer hoses, 8) in basement work room replaced 2 light fixtures, and finally 9) installed door closer on back door. I would hire them again in a heart beat.
Description of Work: I purchased a foreclosed home that had many problems including leaking pipes, a non-functional upstairs bathroom, non-functional light fixtures, and much more... I called The Fabulous Mr. Fix It and they were able to start work almost immediately. They worked in my home for 4 days. The work was completed by a combination of "Rob" and Adam Nola, the owner. The outcome of the work was fantastic, particularly the job they did recaulking the tub. The previous owners had used an improper material to do it originally, and Rob took great care removing the old stuff before Adam laid in the new caulk. It's beautiful!

Suggestions were made on how to best spend the money we budgeted for this project.  + -1 moreI was in the middle of rebuilding my deck when I found about 6 feet of ROT on the rim joist and sill plate (deck had been installed with no flashing). I decided at that point that this was no longer a DIY project! Adam jacked up the floor joists in the basement, replaced the sill plate and the rim joist and even gave me a few pointers on the deck. He told me that I could save money by renting the necessary floor jacks and getting the wood he would need instead of paying him $75/hour to do the errands - this really kept the cost down! Dexter is usuallly out of his working area, but I would not hesitate to call him again.
Description of Work: Replaced rotten rim joinst and sill plate on foundation wall.

Description of Work: I needed my splash guard and wall to be sealed. The area that was separating, he shimmed (spacers between splash guard and wall) and caulked the wall and the cabinets to make them look even.
