We requested an estimate for a Unico high pressure AC system to be installed in our attic on 10/25/12 and an updated quote in July 2013. The owner, Dennis Cline, gave a complete and detailed estimate of $22,575 for the main house plus an additional estimate of $9,030 for the servants quarters.Our home is 13,600 square feet of heated space. It was less than 2 other quotes and in my opinion a turn key proposal (all costs included). We intend to hire them for this project.

Excellent! We have never had anything but the best service from RO Heating and Cooling. We generally have the same tech, whose name is Jim, come over to the house when we have furnace or A/C issues. He knows us as regulars, remembers or family and dogs. He has worked on my elderly mom's boiler and remembers details about her as well. It is a comfortable but professional relationship. He is honest about cost, has given us valuable advice and it is a relief to see him get out the truck when we call the company to help. Our family has used RO Heating and Cooling for decades and will continue to do so.

They are excellent and they are very responsive. You usually don't have to wait long. Every time you call the office, the office girls takes the call and schedules the appointment right away. And I've never had to wait. They are very convenient, because I work. So they can schedule around my schedule. The serviceman has been very responsive and helpful. They take care of everything and I trust them coming into my home. They gave me a senior discount.

I called Royal Oak Heating and Cooling to get an appointment for them to come over and give me an estimate on replacement of our furnace and central air, which will be done this year. They are not flexible on their scheduling. They do not come out after 4:30 and they do not come out on Saturdays....There is an after hours charge if you schedule them after those hours. I work regular hours Monday thru Friday every week....I am not going to give up a day's pay to hire these people. Guess they didn't need the job. Adam from AAC came right over and gave me the numbers that I needed. Guess who wanted the job? Guess who got the job.

Great! On time, pleasant, efficient. Needed to come back in warm weather to calibrate ac. Came back on first warm day.

We had water leaking (puddling) from our furnace. I called RO H and C and they had a technician here in 20 minutes! Mike quickly assessed the problem. Replaced some condenser pump ($70) thing that was totally filled to the top with this disgusting black sludge. He showed me how to maintain the cleanliness of the pump and line with bleach. He also replaced the filter ($50). The service call was $94 and the labor was $130. Now was this the most inexpensive repair company? I have no idea...But the whole experience was seamless and professional so I think it was worth it! Will use them again and again!

They are the ones that installed our new furnace and air conditioning unit less than five years ago. We really thought that they did a nice job. We are no experts in it obviously but we use them because they are the ones that installed the furnace and air conditioning in the first place. They are very professional and they return calls. They seem to be very competent in what they do but again I'm no expert in heating and cooling so I can only go by what my perception is as it appears to be good. They are fairly expensive but you get what you pay for in certain areas like plumbing, electrical and heating. I wouldn't go by price if I was picking them. They are very efficient and quick in that they do. They also clean up after themselves thoroughly.

The job was real good. They had a lot of people that were real helpful and they got the job done. They did a real good job and I would give them 5 stars. They climbed up on the roof and took one of the heating elements down and brought it into the shop. They cleaned it and put it back up so it was a lot of work.

I was working on a DIY job trying to put a new vent into my central air, and I drilled into one of the side coils of the radiator. Tech came out the next day (because I didn't want to pay overtime on Sunday, however someone did call me promptly on Sunday which was nice). He soldered it back up (or whatever you call the patch work) and recharged my freon. He also made me feel better about my mess up since it actually happens a lot I guess. He was very professional and fast which helped keep the price down.

I have used Royal Oak Heating and Cooling in the past for maintenance on my furnace. The man from ROHC was on time for our appointment. However, the estimate provided was over $1,000 more than anyone else. I confirmed the products he quoted were an accurate comparison to the other companies I received estimates from. When I questioned why the significant difference, the ROHC man said my job would require a lot of extra labor. None of the other companies I received quotes from felt that way. ROHC then started saying negative things about the other companies and/or brands they sold. Not professional at all. I do not recommend this company.

The experience was great! My a/c went out over the July 4th weekend. I called on Tuesday and they said that they would send a tech after 1:00pm. However, they called me about 11:30 and asked if they could send the tech earlier. Of course I said yes. The tech arrived very quickly , looked at the a/c ,fixed it and was gone in less than a half hour. The tech was very pleasant and professional. Great company, great service, great people!!!!

POOR 1st impression, will never get a 2nd.

I had a discount from Angie's List. They were terrific and came right on time. The gentleman was very professional and did a thorough clean of the furnace and reviewed it with me. He pointed out some things for me as a homeowner that I should know, which was very helpful. It was a great experience and I would absolutely use them again.

We came home the day after Christmas to a very cold house. Since it was a Sunday we did try to figure out the problem ourselves, but with no luck. Since we had such a great experience with Royal Oak Heating and Cooling in the summer, we called them right away regarding our furnance. The cost to have them come out on a Sunday was more than we wanted to pay, so we decided to wait until the next day. We called first thing Monday morning and they had someone out within a couple hours. He was able to rework a hose on the furnace and fix it without having to add any additional parts. I was grateful he did this instead of charging us for a whole new hose kit. We were only charged for the labor. Both times they came out I felt that they were prompt, fixed the problem and were honest in what needed to be repaired instead of taking advantage of us. We will continue to use them in the future.

The technician, Walt, was prompt and friendly, and finished all the work in less than an hour. (It had been over two years since the items were last serviced, so there was a little extra dirt to take care of, but he said it really wasn't too bad.) I'd called the company on a Monday to schedule a service appointment and the work was done on a Thursday, so not a long wait at all, given the time of year. I will definitely use this company again next time.

The tech arrived on time checked furnace told me a part was going bad but might last another year, I decided to have it changed. He had the part took about 30 minutes for the whole job.

Went above and beyond requirements to make sure the job was done right.

We were out of town with our young adult children staying at home when our boiler sprung a leak in on of the pipes. This is something that needed to be repaired right away but the kids had no money or credit card to pay for the repair. We called Royal Oak Heating and explained the situation and they agreed to come out and fix it with a credit card over the phone. They worked with our stay at home kids to arrange a time and came as soon as possible to do the repairs. We were much relieved and grateful that they were so accommodating. On the other hand, when we got back they came out and inspected the problem boiler and told us that we would need a new boiler - to the tune of $5000!. After more estimates and inspections we found that we only needed to replace pipes - not the whole boiler. (thank goodness we checked it out further) The repair only cost us $350 - and of course was not done by Royal Oak Heating! For more on that see my review for Cregger Plumbing ( great company) I do really appreciate what Royal Oak Heating did for us in that emergency situation but don't know that I would trust them completely. I guess my attitude is ask a lot of questions and Buyer Beware!

This company is extremely professional. They are prompt, efficient and quite competent. They do not fool around, when they come to your job they start right in until it is completed. They did an excellent job on what I had them do. I have reservations about what I am about to write. My parents owned this house that I had the work done in, I now own the home. They always used this company exclusively for many years. But when a company is charging $144.00 per hour labor I must question what on earth is going on. Yes, there was an apprentice with the person who was doing the work. I called Glen to ask what he charged for labor, he said $36.00 per quarter (He just reluctantly raised the prices). Labor for 6 hours of work was $864.00. Total materials was $308.58. Yes they do great work but my Master electriction charged $85.00 per hour ( and he does great work). So, I think that I am not going to use them again in the future - they've priced themselves right out of the market for me. I'm sure that if my parents were alive they would agree.

Jim did a great job, I asked questions as he went through the steps. He was very professional yet cordial. He answered all of my questions about the furnace also.The price was exact to the mailing card for a April/May special for furnaces. Their office called in between the space of time agreed upon to let me know timewise where he was at. I appreciate when companies respect my timeline also.

Royal Oak Heating and Cooling must be losing a lot of business because of their telephone answerer Kim Jennifer's incredible and disconcerting lack of professionalism and empathy. I lost my heat early on a Sunday morning during a very cold spell in January in Michigan because the furnace motor burned out. I called the following Monday morning to 1) schedule an appointment to estimate replacing my furnace and 2) obtain service for the burned out furnace motor in case the furnace replacement took longer than we could stand the cold. After we agreed the appointment time, she gave me a ridiculously expensive estimate for the motor replacement. She has a great telephone voice and appeared to be very pleasant until I replied that the service seemed very expensive and that I could get the motor for 1/3 her price. At that point, her personality changed completely. She said, "well get the motor and do it yourself", and hung up on me. I don't even know if the salesperson is going to appear at my door to estimate replacing my broken furnace. At no point was I ever rude to her. Very strange. They certainly set my expectations regarding the type of treatment I would receive as a customer and I'll certainly never ever do business with them.
