The plumber arrived promptly on time and gave me a written estimate of what the job would cost. He was very friendly and professional. I had hired a plumber two weeks prior who could not remove a nut from the faucet to replace the cartridge. The plumber from Nelson Brothers had the nut off in less than five minutes, and completed all of the repairs in a little more than an hour. And the best part is that the final cost was $50 less than he had estimated. I highly recommend this company.

We came home Sunday night and saw that one of our two 14 year old water heaters had fully drained out (and then some). We had a mess and no hot water. I called Nelson Brothers the next morning at 8:30 AM and at 10:30 AM I had their service man at the house and my afternoon they had installed two new water heaters (I elected to replace the other heater that was OK as it, too, was very old). The copper work and soldering was first rate, the service man (Mike?) did not track dirt through the house when entering and exiting, and the price was reasonable. Having not used a plumber in years, we were very impressed and surprised at how easy it all went. I'd highly recommend Nelson Brothers. The service man was clean cut, professionally dressed and a nice guy to chat with. Highly recommended!

They are fine and usually come pretty prompt.

,Called them as one of the three companies to do the work. their estimate including permits which were somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,200 to the City of Royal Oak for the work, to replace the sidewalk and to replace the concrete on the street that the city had to have done by their contractors. after selecting nelson brothers they dropped of the back hoe the previous night and began digging down to find the cast iron pipe that went into my basement both for the drain tile and the sewer discharge. they trenched with the appropriate slope to the city line, requiring that they cut away the side walk and a section of the city street, as the city line they had to connect to was underneath the street. They did an excellent job both, obtaining the permits, performing the work, putting in the appropriate safety equipment in place ( fencing around the trench that was 12 feet deep ) and installing the new sewer line and clean out for my home. the work was done properly and in a timely fashion and the workers did their best to remove with the back hoe as best the could to dig out a Japanese maple that was in the way ( which did end up surviving thanks to simply just getting it dug out with the backhoe ) and then i moved it to a safe place. they didn't have much choice but to dig the trench through the front yard, it's the only way to go to get to the street. once they were done, they filled in the trench with new material to provide proper compaction and the the old dirt on top and after wards filled in the side walk and street with black top to avoid having a hazard. the city then came in and poured the concrete slab for the side walk and the street.

He fixed my toilet, cleaned up after himself, the caulking was impecibly done. I wouldn't look forward to having another plumbing issue, but I know that in the future I can rely on these guys and have someone to help.

Overall the job went very well. They were careful to clean up all the mud in our basement and remove all the broken plumbing and cement that was a result of digging up our basement. I would call this company again. We have recommended them many times.

Every thing went well. Jesse provided quote before starting and took time to answer all my questions. Explained what he was doing as he worked. He did not rush and took time to do a good job.Did a good job cleaning the drains and cleaned up floor area after finishing Was careful not to damage anything while bring equipment thru kitchen and hallway down to the basement

A sewer back-up caused flooding in basement but a quick call to Nelson Bros after hours had them here in an hour, snaked line and made sure there were no other blockages afterwards. Also snaked the entire line - not just to the first blockage - to ensure that there were no other gotchas that would screw us up later after he left. The work also came with a 30 day warranty. Rich was excellent - friendly and professional - and explained what needed to be done without wasting any time. Also gave good advice and rough-but-fair estimates on some other plumbing work we need done - I'll definately be using using these guys for that work too. I listed the price as good - don't know if its the going rate or not (and maybe should be an A) but I have no problems paying for good service and feel that their service was worth the price.

From start to finish, I was involved and informed as to the problem. He never seemed pause save to ask a question about my system, even what type of toilet paper I used. No tracked up house, no mess and good advice on how to keep it flowing so to speak.

Our home warranty company had sent out another plumber who told us that the sump pump had not been installed properly and that was the cause of the failure so they denied the claim. After arguing with the warranty company to no avail, we called Nelson Bros. who came out within a couple of hours, installed a new sump pump, said there was nothing wrong with the previous installation and the new pump got rid of the 4 inches of standing water we'd had to deal with for over 2 days. Nelson Bros. did an awesome job!

If you don't pick nelson brothers - your making a mistake on something like this. They sent the and quot;Aand quot; team for this and the work was of the highest quality. The event and process. Sewer bBackup on new years day. Sought other firm to and quot;restore flowand quot;. 2 days later - backed up again. Original firm came out to restore flow - kinked (read: nearly destroyed) a rooter. Original firm Scoped and found issues. Original firm presented 3 options - none of which sound and quot;quite rightand quot; - a high-pressure (sounded fishy to me), internal no dig repair (break up basement floor), and break up the driveway to repair and put the cleanout in the driveway. Sought solutions and additional quotes. All required me to tear up my driveway. Dick Nelson came up with a way to maintain the driveway and improve the overall system. He went above and beyond in developing and communicating the solution in a way that clearly addressed my needs. Came out on Saturday to verify the path. Nelson brothers called Miss Dig and obtained a permit. Started promptly on a Friday and finished all pipe work until township inspector could approve on Monday. Two 15+ long trenches at 8' and 12' deep. Cleaning out existing croc under driveway. Connected and banded PVC off of iron leaving the house to 4and quot; PVC, inserted an angle and pushed the 4and quot; pipe through the existing croc under driveway, connect 4and quot; from there to 6and quot; T (for cleanout) and connected to 6and quot; croc with banding. Total Time w/o plumbing - 6 hours. Finished rodding and scoping on Saturday. Monday drained 1-2 feet of ground water in each of the holes. Review and approved by township on Monday. Complete the filling on Monday. Cleaning mud and grass and setting soil to appropriate grade around and over the holes to allow for settling. It was cold and wet. These guys were machines. Nelson brothers is my plumbing and gas firm from now on.

I had read many good reviews on a variety of search engines about Nelson Brothers. I didn't want to get taken for a backyard dig when all I needed was a cleaning. They don't usually service my area so I had to call and plead my case. They agreed to come out but charged me an extra fee. This is the only area I gave them a 'B' for since I don't live in a bad neighborhood but my zip code gets a bad rap. Anyway, they arrived on time, called before they came out, and explained why they couldn't put a camera in my pipes. They cleaned out the roots, made recommendations and answered all of our questions. I would use them again.

My basement flooded so I called the to check. He did not clean out the drain properly. He only pulled out a couple of pieces of paper. So the next time it rained bad the basement flooded again. They told me they had a three month warranty but charged me the next time they came out. He also left the area an entire mess. The second time he came he did run the snake through and it seemed to worked. He said he ran it through the first time but I know he didn't.

These guys are pros and know vintage plumbing like my 1950's American Standard showers, faucets and toilets, and the old drum trap I have in my bathroom. Disassembled, re-packed, replaced rubber grommets and assembled shower faucet handles to stop leaks. Replaced ceramic cartridges in my newer kitchen faucet. These guys know older stuff (and new plumbing) like the backs of their hands. Great work and knowledgeable.

Excellent. I purchased my home in 2008. The faucets were leaking so I had friends partially fix the pipes under the sink, but we still had drastic leaks. This year (since I was going to be off for cancer surgery) I decided to check Angie's list for a real plumbing company to fix my garbage desposal, tolets and faucets. I felt if I used a licensed company I could call them back if there were flaws in the work. I called 3 companies from the list. The first company removed the dime from my garbage disposal and said nothing was wrong with the tolets. However the estimated cost seemed to be high. The second company planned to call me the Tuesday after the holidays to schedule an estimate but did not call back. The 3rd company (Nelson) scheduled the estimate the Wednesday after the holiday between 8:30 - 11:00. Ken called about 8:30, to say he would be at my home in 30 - 45 minutes. Showed up 9am. Looked at all faucets and provided a cost $200 cheaper than the first company. He order the needed parts while he worked on the lower level. He replaced the pipes in about 20 minutes. The guy delivered the parts and Ken completely finished the job at 11:30. Ken was excellent very professional, quiet while working, cleaned up after his work and was quick. I plan to use this company for any future plumbing issues.

I was very pleased with the rapid response to our phone call and the quality of the work.

They were superb. They were very reasonable and they were experts. They were very competent. They really stuck it out until it was done. We've used a lot of plumbers over the years and these guys were superb. We would really recommend them. The price included a sump pump that we ultimately didn't need but we had to. It was a lot of snaking of lines. These guys knew how these 1900's buildings were constructed. It was a very professional system and a lot of new plumbers have no idea how these old buildings work. These guys had some old timers and they are highly recommended for older buildings because they understand how the systems work. They were excellent and couldn't be better in every respect. We would absolutely use them again.

Did their work and recommended we contact the City of Troy to have them use a camera to view the main to the catch basin. Did so.

When I called on Thursday afternoon, company was ready to schedule appointment for next morning. I actually requested Saturday morning. Company called at 8:00 to annouce arrival in about 45 minutes. Tech arrived in 45 minutes. Tech was very professional and responsive to my questions. Tech went right to work and was done about 45 minutes later. Tech explained the bill and warranty efficiently. Very impressed with this company's service. Will call them again.

Both times they were on time and got the job done through a few difficulties. No whining and a fair price.

They were quick, efficient, clean, and friendly. They removed the old heater and put the new one. I recommend them to others.
